Atlus JP puts up Persona related teaser site counting down to November 24

I hate all the mobile joke. I hate you all.

Anyway, the hype 2 month prior without any information won't archive much, I think. People will all forget about it next week.

The situation has changed a couple of times, so things that may have been said before might not necessarily be correct any longer.

I don't like the sound of a game changing platforms multiple times in development if that is what you are saying.

Any idea if this site has any relation to P5? You told us before that it should have been pre-TGS announcement and even that was delayed from previous plans.

The safe bet given Atlus' statements and historic behavior would be PS3.

If Sega adds in anything else like Xbox or Vita or whatever would be more along the lines of thinking I would suggest than "not on PS3".

Of course, I guess it's not out of the question that someone could bribe Sega sufficiently. It wouldn't be my first guess, but it's possible.

This is my thought process too. If Sega is mandating anything (and would they do this immediately?) it would be adding a platform (probably Vita), not yanking them away.

Also, who would bribe Sega for it? Microsoft can't really do anything with this...Nintendo already has SMT? Sony probably would if they needed to, but...

Honestly, it could easily turn into a Sonic Racing Transformed situation where fucking EVERYTHING gets it via mandate from Sega, but you can clearly tell what the lead platforms were and what got tacked on after the fact (looking at you shit 3DS version :( )

This is probably a Persona GAME. Just looking at the source code for the website reveals that.

The last japanese line translates to: Something is/(will be) happening...
Since this is right after the movie, it could mean something. Dark hours for example?

Given that the countdown expires the day after the Persona 3 movie comes out, I have to believe that at least part of the announcement(s) will be some kind of P3: Golden-type release.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was P3 related but I don't get what the cities are for in that case(same if it somehow ended up being P5).

At the moment, I don't know. The date doesn't line up with what I'd heard, but it's been a while since there were any updates, and it could very well be just another plans shift. At this point I'm just gonna sit back and watch things unwind with the rest of you and hope for the best. The legal troubles really shook things up.

For a team the size of Atlus, any "mandate" would be more so them just doing the ports themselves for Atlus than actually making Atlus do like 3-8 SKUs.

How about three persona games, where there are two cities in each of them? And they are released on different systems? Maybe too farfetched, but I can dream :D

I would be disappointed if the game was for this generation (PS3 generation I mean). P3 and P4 made sense on the PS2 because they could reuse a lot from the other PS2 SMT games (demons and stuff). I think it would be better if they jumped to next gen (including 3DS and Vita) and then reuse that work for future games.

Persona has always used fictional cities and 3 Persona games being announced at once would be too much IMO.

Really, people are wanting it on 3DS? Wasn't the whole point of P4G being on Vita because the PSP wasn't powerful enough (hence why P3P was some weird [imo, inferior] visual novel thing)? I know that the 3DS isn't the PSP, but they seem comparable.

Plus, I would like them to stop using the same damn demon models they've been using since the PS2. I want to see brand new models in glorious HD.

3 boxes -> 3 games, Atlus said they've lots of announcement soon a while back

cities -> are where they're holding events for public exhibition of said announcements, possibly tied in with P3 movie opening. They're revealing this two months earlier to start taking reserves or something soon.

the games will be announced much earlier through other means. The 3 games are probably P5, P3 port, P4U2 home console ver, persona games only here obviously.

I think that had to do more with the UMD format than the PSP itsefl

I wouldn't worry about it, the original vision of the game is going to remain the same no matter what. So I'm thinking the minimum is Vita and the maximum is PS4. In between that you have PS3, 360, XB1, WiiU. Either one is fine with me.

Atlus will project the P5 reveal trailer on random buildings in those cities' most frequented spots, just like Kanye did with his New Slaves video.

This isn't insane at all. I think you've cracked it.

A ticket to see P3 that also serves as a pass to one of these locations for a demo event sounds like a great way to drive-up ticket sales. Especially if this is a one-night-only affair.

If they're not doing this, they should be.

I thought P4G going to Vita was just a matter of timing and they were originally making it on PSP?

No they weren't, Hashino literally said that there wouldn't be a persona 4 portable. He was kinda pissed that he had to downgrade the experience for the PSP(iirc). Once Vita came around, they decided to port it to that because they wouldn't have to make sacrifices.

Guys

Take a Deep Breath

Persona 5: Joy
Persona 3 Platinum: Signs of Love
Persona 4 Climax: SMILE
3DS: Burn My Bread
Mobile: Never More
Nothing: Heartbreak Heartbreak

But

Ain't Nobody Can't Hold Me Down

I couldn't resist

As I've said before. I can't see P5 not coming to at least the PS3.

Another P3 port?

Based Hashino. I now have faith that they are not going to half ass P5 and make it a 3DS exclusive.

teddy? Persona 4-2 confirmed

Another P3 port?

Yes. It makes as much sense as Disney releasing licensed tie-in games. It's easy money.

Aside from that, there really isn't a definitive version of P3. FES is close, but it's missing the female route and system changes in P3P. P3P's presentation is severely neutered and the original game already wasn't a cinematic stunner or anything, so you really felt that you were missing something. (At least I did.)

All that is a pretty good argument to do one more version of P3, I think.

Well, we know they weren't happy with what they had to do with P3P, and you can still have discussions about which version of P3 is the definitive one. So long as you can do that, there needs to be a full version.

P3 Velvet, playable male/female, FULL games(with new animation for female side). Also has the Answer, which allows you to carry over some things into it(male vs female, and more spoilery stuff).

Well, yeah, as much as I loved P3P I guess it would be justified to port it again considering the missing aspects from FES and such, but they would need to add new features to an eventual new port to make it seem worthy. At least for me, after playing all the versions multiple times.
