How long is Lone Survivor and is there any replayability?

There was no replayability in the non-directors cut unless you wanted to see all the optional bits of story (yes, there's optional bits) and I don't think there is any in this new version. I have about 7 hours of it on Steam, with probably 5-6 being actual playtime.

How long is Lone Survivor and is there any replayability?

Most of the new content in the director's cut version is in the New Game+ mode. Jasper has spent a lot of the last year and a half since release adding new features to this game.

http://superflatgames.com/wordpress/?p=1229

i knew the fans would be the most sensitive to changes in the game, so to me the challenge was to go back and improve the original game without in any way changing or spoiling the original vision. for this reason, i decided to make the majority of the new content, including the two new endings, only accessible in New Game+. so when you play the game for the first time, it should feel as before, only far more polished and nicer to look at and listen to. but when explore it for the second time, you may discover an entire extra layer to it…

specific to New Game+:

around 6 new locations
2 completely new endings
3 new songs
over 20 new items
2 new sidequests
new enemy
new dialogue for all characters in the game
many other easter eggs that are better left unspoilt

Wow, I envy you or anyone who can play games outside among the crowds. I just.....can't do it even when the people actually mind their own business.

Everyone is reading their kindles, staring at their phones/tables or playing crappy colourful mobile games. You not doing anything fundamentally different.

Yup.

Anytime I play the Vita in public people inevitably end up checking it out for awhile in what I shamelessly presume is envy. They're dejectedly playing another board of Candy Crush Saga while I'm getting that last Lum I need for the medal in a level on Rayman.

I'd feel awful if I were that person.

Why not? I sat at a table with 7 or 8 people this week, they were all playing with their phones, either gaming or just browsing the internet. There was one guy not doing that, he was just staring in front of him....I actually felt bad for him.

except you got much more quality in your hands :)

i play my vita everyday in the train, for me it seems that the people are curious about whats that "thing" in your hands, because you rarely see a Vita in the outside world :P

That IGN list is just all kinds of horrible. So many mediocre games highlighted.

Hot Shots Golf is a near-perfect Vita pick-up-and-play and online Tour de Force, yet no mention?

People only look at what you doing because it looks interesting. :) Unless you playing Shinovi Versus, there's nothing to be ashamed of.

And at the end of the day who cares what those plebs are thinking you are part of the glorious Vita Master Race.

On a side note, since we were talking about it. I saw more Vitas in wild than 3DSs, ergo Vita means life.

Funny enough it was all men in their late 20s/early 30s, playing all kind of games. I even saw some guy put his Vita into his coat pocket!

i really doesn't care what other peeps think about me in the train, i think its ten times better to kill time than checking constantly facebook on the phone.

U-Play announced today Tadeo Jones the videogame for Vita.
Tadeo Jones is a children successful spanish animated movie over here.
An Indiana Jones-esque parody in short terms.
KHR9Gsx.jpg

It's expected to be released by the end of the year.

That list is different from my list! IGN suck! What a joke.

Seriously, this shit happens every freaking time. People get so worked up about those kinds of lists. If I made a top 25 Vita list most people would disagree with it too. It's nothing worth complaining about. Those kind of lists are opinions and nothing more.

Would your list feature escape plan higher than a high number of generally well praised games? :lol

Holy crap - i need to check later if i'm not being followed by some suspicious guy ;)

And also i saw one 3DS XL owner and 3 Vita owners in Warsaw subway.

Is that screenshot from the game, or the movie? If it's the game it looks good, if it's the movie, well ... Google brings up nothing game related.

Yes, people is usually curious about the Vita. Although sometimes I feel a little nervous when people is looking at me while playing the Vita, a part of myself wants them to ask me about it.

I know that they'll love it once they try it. Everyone does.

At my college, you see people whip out 3DS and Vitas everywhere. Just the other day I sat with 3 other dudes and played a few missions in Soul Sacrifice. Vitacats are out there. Also, downloading Atelier Totori Plus from the Japanese sale. I only played Rorona on PS3, but never finished. Will Totori be better?
Really? I just finished grad school with a bunch of kids that had just graduated the year before and they didn't even know what a Vita was when I first bought mine.

yeah sometimes it distract me from the game and i cant concentrate in that moment... deadly when i play some fast need for speed ^^

Finished Rayman Origins. Great game, very hard towards the end! :) Won't go back for the Tooth levels or speed runs as I have too much else to play, but it was a really good game for sure. Will pick up Legends at some point in the future.

Onto Gravity Rush next.

Just get the tooth! The level they unlock (when you collect 10) is crazy but a lot of fun. Living of the Livid Deaths.

It's awesome. Seriously. You'll die a lot of times but it's much more interesting than the last levels of the game (which i didn't particularly like).

Hmm maybe :) I don't have enough blobs to unlock all 10 of them I don't think, so would have to go back and get some more of those. Sigh, I am going to end up getting Platinum on it if I get that bonus level completed :)

Whats the point of a strech goal that ends in 4 days?

famousmortimer really lifted up my spirits when he said Ratchet and Infamous Vita are on the way.... I had a feeling but to see him quasi-confirm it helps put me at ease regarding future lineup. I never counted it out but I did wonder what Sony has next...

It looks like the "AAA" titles will continue to pour in....

Indies are only getting bigger, better, and widely available...

And localization teams are starting to get to work and bring Japan's hottest titles over....

Vita is going to be a monster in 2015

Mighty No. 9's Vita and 3DS stretch goal is $3.5 million. Yeah, it's not happening.

Like I told Wario on Twitter, it'll happen either way. The Vita port would be pretty simple (relatively speaking) and there's a lot of money in a 3DS port. They just want to have that extra incentive for more donations.

Now that you mention it I think they did and other studios offer to do the port.

They've updated their page now, so I can't find the original... maybe someone quoted it in one of these Vita threads... but what I remember was this:

There were 2 or 3 ??????? stretch goals at the end and Keiji said something like "those aren't for Vita/3DS... if we do those, they won't be a stretch goal."

If I could find the concrete proof of it instead of just thinking that's what I'd read, I'd probably drop my support from the game.

Edit: I've found a statement, but I could swear it didn't have the "or possibly as stretch goals" at the end originally...

Handhelds are still a possibility! Just because you don’t see them in this next set of goals doesn’t mean we aren’t working on this. :) We know many of you have been asking about the possibility of Vita and 3DS versions of Mighty No. 9, so now we know the desire is most definitely there — what’s left is to figure out if the money and production realities can make this possible. We wish we could say more at this point, but we can say this: There might be other ways to make this happen (besides stretch goals) that we are currently investigating. (Or maybe it will end up being a later stretch goal after all?)

But that's not the one I was thinking of...

I think it was this and I just glossed over the "maybe stretch goals" part because of the end of the sentence saying it was neither of the stretch goals that remained.

As we mentioned in the update, we are looking into different options regarding the possibility of Vita and 3DS versions, possibly as later stretch goals, or through other methods. We honestly aren’t sure how this will turn out, but we can tell you we do hear you, and we are doing all we can to look into ways to make it happen. (By the way, these are not either of the “???” mystery stretch goals -- both of those are game-content related.)

Hey man, I am the kind of guy who always bring my handheld family:

Whereever I go, and play them to accompany me while I wait for something, like when I am waiting for the theater door to open in my weekly movie-watching schedule :) I don't think people even give a damn when they see me playing my handhelds, why should I give a damn about them around me? Hahaha.

Lone survivor has been out a couple of days. Anybody can offer some opinions about it or rate it? I am kinda still on the fence.

I played it for about half an hour yesterday. Still not totally sold on the gameplay, but I can confirm that it's creepy as heck. The music, in particular, is terrifying, and playing with headphones/earbuds is a must. It actually kind of reminds me of Hotline Miami -- similar graphics, similar dissonant music (though Lone Survivor's a much harder on the ears), similar feeling of just being dropped into a world without much explanation. I can't rate it quite yet, but I can say that it seems intriguing.

Ugh, wasn't really sure if I should buy Lone Survivior or wait for a discount (as I have so much other stuff to play), but was about to buy it today. Now I'm not sure anymore, I have to be one of 3 people on the world who didn't enjoy Hotline Miami :/ But you are just referring to pixelstyle and some part of the atmosphere playing it right?

They don't play anything alike at all. Both have similar graphics and awesome Jasper Byrne soundtracks, that's where the similarity ends.

Edit: Actually, 'similar graphics' is a bad way of putting it. They both have style for days though.

It may be the game that Shahid said was one of the "most requested" Vita titles. (Migthy Nº9).

I don't think so:
1)ok it was requested, but not that requested imo.
2)actually it's NOT coming to vita, there's just a (very high)stretch goal(for the 3ds too), only if they get enough money then it will come to vita(and 3ds).

Yep. Sorry, I read the announcement before people explained here the stretch goals stuff.

I'm glad it's not that game xD.

What SmokyDave said -- they don't play anything alike, they just have some aesthetic similarities.

I'm pretty sure you could get an idea of how Lone Survivor plays by watching someone play the first 10 minutes. :lol

I'd love to have Mighty No. 9 on Vita. Especially since I can't get Mega Man Powered Up.
Also, I'd probably be more excited for Mighty No. 9 than I would for a port of a Tales game or something.

Yep, I'd love to play it too. I want it too, what i meant was that i'm happy that the "deal" is still unannounced and can be a bigger game. I don't know if you get what i'm saying.

:(

Yeah, I can understand your logic -- the way you worded it up there though made it seem like you didn't want Mighty No. 9 at all and were glad it was something else because of no interest.

If it was a localized Type-0? I'd probably care.
Otherwise this Shahid #jrpgvita thing isn't really in my realm of interest, I guess.

Oh, look, I can now play FFV on SNES, PSOne, PS2, PS3, PSP, iOS, Android... but not on my Vita. (Good thing I don't care about that particular FF entry... ;) )

You only need the one or maybe 2 (being generous to 3ds fans) surely?

Might Number Nine looks great in concept

But 2015 is REALLY far away and its hard to get pumped for it.

I also kind of dont want that crazy window into the entire development from start to finish. Who wants a pre spoiled game?

I really want to see a focus on near term games and maybe spring 2014
