New Nintendo Direct Tomorrow [WiiU/3DS, games releasing later this year]

wii u:
-update on whatever system stuff
-details about sonic, mario, dk, and wii party u
-other 3rd party stuff, probably from the eshop

3ds:
-update on system stuff (miiverse?)
-details about zelda, mario party, pokemon
-3rd party stuff like phoenix wright (especially since it's eshop), and god knows what else. batman, i guess.

i think it'll be january as we're getting more details on smash, mk, bayonetta, smt x fe, and yarn yoshi that we'll start seeing announcements of new games again. although wii sports club was sort of a last minute surprise so i don't know.

You really never know with Nintendo. During their wii fit u direct, as boring as ever, they just busted out wii sports club coming in 4 weeks...
 
For reference the last Nintendo Direct gave us the Ace Attorney vs Layton announcement, as well as Animal Crossing Plaza. They also showed a bunch of games and Luigi for Smash.

There were three dedicated Directs after that: The Wonderful 101, Pokemon DIrect and Wii Fit U Direct.
 
Normally, they would have their big Fall Direct/Event at this time... But it feels like they are skipping it this year. :

I really need more X footage, though.

Meh. I'd expect this kind of reply at GameFAQs, not at GAF, which in my opinion is a far superior community in my time lurking here. So, I take you find my minor grammatical slip far more interesting then a potential Nintendo announcement.

Would it be too optimistic to ask for a new F-Zero game. Hell, there are already multiple platformer titles already on the Wii U or are going to be. I don't see why not, two racing games cannot co-exist either. Especially when you consider Mario Kart has a much different play style then the F-Zero titles.

Ath this point of time, I feel there's nothing that Nintendo could announce that would keep me from selling my Wii U.

Fzero I wouldn't expect anything in quite a few years if not something like 5 years.
Last they were asked they said they didn't know people wnated this so much.
That's code for "No one want to do it or even fund it"
Looking at the latest MK, I guess it's better for them to expect the Fzero crowd to come over for MK than make another big budget bomb that only nostalgic people want and that they will be dogged for another rehash they don't even want to do.
And DKC is a way bigger property.
 
I have a feeling we will get some indie announcements tomorrow. Maybe Shin'en's game.

I personally want more DK and Mario 3DW footage. A new X trailer would be just icing on the cake.
 
I'll be in class at that time and won't be free till 3:00 p.m.. First Nintendo Direct I'll miss in a while. He's hoping towards good news about the Wii U update and new trailers (I'll happily take another X trailer, still so little known). I wonder if they'll highlight any third-party titles. Would be interesting to see something like Watch Dogs shown.
 
Even is the Direct is focused around games for 2013 :
Nintendo could still :
- Unveil a new game no one knows about (Wiisports Club style) to be released this year.
- Unveil a 2014 new game to build some hype. (No matter what the name of the direct is)

But they already have a lot to show with :
- New bundles, new price point, new Gamepad battery, Wiimote cradle, wWipartyU/Wiimote bundles.
- Software updates on WiiU & 3DS
- 2DS
- New footage and released dates for know games
- Pokemon

Ah sorry for the overreaction. It's just I've been on dozens of forums and the GAF thus far in my limited experience the best community I've ever encountered so that reply was unusual to me, well for this place at least.

Oh well that's somewhat disappointing. I'm just saying the last console F-Zero title was released over 10 years ago. In fact it skipped an entire console generation on the Wii, so the lack of one in so long just seems like one other IP Nintendo could take advantage of get more games on the Wii U.

I bought it expecting strong first party support, Ironically though the first game I bought for the system was a 3rd party title (Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate).
