Anyone here excited for the Batman game?

I mean I can't wait to play Tearaway, Olliolli and especially Velocity, but I never read from someone that he can't wait for Batman Vita.

Thanks for the short report Carl.

I'm pretty excited for it! I love the Arkham combat system so it'll be nice to have that on the Vita. The videos of gameplay that I've seen certainly look promising enough that I'd say it has a chance to be good. I'll be keeping an eye on reviews, but I imagine that it'll be my last purchase before next-gen :).

Yes, I am. The console games are some of my favorites and although I am a little bit disappointed we don't get a full 3D Arkham experience, the new direction also looks promising.

It's just there are too many games I am excited for coming in the next weeks and we didn't get much to see from the game itself. I hope the 3DS doesn't drag it down. At least Armature worked on the Vita before and the Bluepoint engine works well on the Vita.

im def interested in batman. maybe not day one for me ( due to backlog) but certainly on my to play radar.

Welcome Marc,

Congrats on the purchase. Don't feel so bad about the fighting games - I personally think the complexity of the modern fighting game has gone up quite a bit.

I think out of the must have games you listed, you're missing Spelunky for one. I'd bump up Killzone Mercenary because it's a real showpiece title, one of my favorite games on the system. Batman and Tearaway look like the ones to watch in October and November. BigFest is indeed free.

If you're up for some more leftfield games, I'd recommend Soul Sacrifice, DJ Max (import), Lone Survivor and Thomas Was Alone. These might not be to your taste but are a sample of the diverse range of games you'll see on Vita.

Would like to second Spelunky. It's actually the only game I've bought yet, as PS+ keeps on giving. I had a pretty obsessive addiction to the free PC version a couple of years back, and the Vita version might be the ultimate one, so beautiful, tight and awesome to have on the go.

I really want to get my hands on VLR and Persona 4, I bought the Vita mostly for those. I'll also double dip on Dragon's Crown when it's released here in Spain, unless it's crazy expensive compared to the US (dat reverse €>$ conversion :P). Oh, and Soul Sacrifice or the Delta version, I loved the demo. All of them I want digital, it's way too much of a hassle to juggle different cards on the go.

I would advice against getting Limbo on the Vita when you can probably get someone to gift you a Steam key from the recent Humble Bundle; it's quite short indeed, so the difference between playing it on the Vita as opposed to the PC won't be a big factor in the long run.

Sure it's quite expensive on the Vita vs. nearly free on PC. I was lucky enough to get it free on the Vita, because Limbo Ps3 was part of PS Plus. When they released the Vita version and it was Crossbuy, everyone who "bought" the Plus-Ps3-version got the full Vita Version for free (it really is the full version and not just from Plus, I tested it when my Plus ran out a couple of days).

What I wanted to say is this: I played Limbo on my 360 and liked it very much. I played it on my Vita in bed&in the dark a few years later and I loved it!
I'm pretty sure Limbo is also awesome if you play it on PC, but if you can wait for a sale or have enough money, get it on Vita.

I don't think so. Of those games, only VLR has been free for PS+.

Alright, thanks. I've already got a mountain of games on this thing just from PS+ & the Walking Dead pack-in, so I'm not in a huge rush for anything (though I'll probably jump on VLR anyway). The rest I'll probably just wait until I need something to play, and hopefully in the meantime some of them at least get PS+ discounts.

Is Uncharted, Gravity Daze, and Wipeout still available for free with PS+?

I'm asking for a friend that just picked up the system.

On the topic of PS+.
When are Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048 and Uncharted going to be cycled out?

Probably November. IGC was added to the Vita that month last year.

Which day of the month does the list of PS+ stuff usually change?

EU PS+ is usually around the 25th (former month) - 3rd day in the current one. They give all the stuff the same day. For SCEA is whenever they want to do it.

I played Arkham City when it was on PS+ and really liked it. And I'm not a fan of Batman neither superheroes games. But it was amazing.

But i'm not buying the PS3 neither the Vita version, at least for now. I'd like to buy every game to support the developers and tell them the Vita is worth porting, buy I can't. This holyday season i'm sticking with Tearaway, Dragon's Crown (next month) and Toukiden if releases this year. Killzone is a 80% buy, because i don't usually like shooting games.

As I am probably getting a Vita tomorrow (EuroGAF btw) does this also apply for EU? Are there more free games for Plus subscribers besides the typical monthly stuff?

The yearly games are Uncharted and Gravity Rush. Both are great, IMO.

This month games were Street Fighter X Tekken, Touch my Katamari, Stealth Bastard (A clone in the dark in PSN) and Jak and Daxter Collection. The latter two are cross-buy.

Sweet, that sounds great. UC, Gravity Rush SFxT and Touch my Katamari are more than good for day 1 stuff and on top of that I am also getting P4G. Jak and Daxter Trilogy is still free by the way? Now that the October games are in, I thought that I would have missed that. If I also get this then things would be even better.

The Batman game on Vita has really solid fighting mechanics, I have to give it that. It just seemed that it spent far too much time making you press R1 to grapple up to something. Although maybe that was just the demo level :)

I've only played the first Jak and Daxter. You'll probably notice framerate problems, but if you can stand some drops during the first hour or so, you will be able to finish it.

Keep in mind that it's still a PS2 game. It has a weird camera, weird check points and some design decision that have made it get older quicker than you would probably expect.

I have 5 euros in my psn wallet and I feel it's burning. I want to buy a Gravity Rush DLC. I need more Kat in my life. Can I play them with my 100% playthrough or I need to start a new game? Which is the best of them?

The Arkham games have a LOT of grappling... but it's all done well. The freeflow combat system was amazing. Simple yet deep and varied and challenging to master.

I'm curious to see how it translates to the Vita.

End of November, most likely.

Depends on your region. EU is the last Wednesday of the month. NA is one game per week on Tuesday.

A real fan would buy all 3. ;)
I think the military one was my favorite.
You don't need to start a new game, but I found them highly beneficial to the game on the whole as far as starting the game with all 3 DLCs installed. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have gone back, most likely. They're timed to open up at specific story chapters so they add some extra variety and stuff to the normal story.

Just started playing Lone Survivor.

Never thought I would have some actual freakout moments while playing a handheld. Walk through a door and I'm imeadiately set upon by a monstrous flesh eating creature that's four times my height...NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Why didn't anyone tell me that playing as the dwarf in Dragon's Crown is pretty farkin' awesome?!

He's definitely better than the fighter. Now to hope that the wizard/elf/amazon aren't too bad when I get around to them. ^_^

Baron, when we play again, we should take a chain of the regular stages instead of LoC.
It will also help you get the 9 stages in a row and 5 million score trophies if you don't have them.

Hell yea. It's my only for sure day one purchase this entire holiday season. My only other preorder at this point is Disgaea D2 but that i'm even considering cancelling because of KH HD and still haven't played my Ni No Kuni I got cheap.

Batman Vita for sure though. Get that first with $10 credit at amazon then use that credit towards Batman Arkham origins on sale at Amazon for Black Friday, win-win.

$350k in 24 hours is unlikely. Still, there is no reason a port after it's all made and sold on other platforms isn't out of the question.

They have close to 100k via paypal, so they "just" need about 240k more. Close, but still not easy to achieve if you ask me.

Unless... they get a substantial last minute deposit by Shahid. :)

Yeah if they're taking funding and applying the same stretch goals well after the KS has ended the chances of getting a Vita release by the time it's done are good. I wasn't aware that was happening.

Just as a head's up, new thread won't be up until later today. Had some things that needed taking care of, which has caused a bit of a delay in making the thread itself. Don't be surprised if it ends up going up after 4PM EST, which is when I get off from work.

Why not pass the torch to someone else.

I was the opposite. I thought I'd have a great time as a Dwarf, but was kinda disappointed as parts of his move set felt disjointed to me. Not being able to cancel out of that really really long Eagle Dive animation annoys me to death, too.

Wizard is practically just a variation of the Sorceress. Has far more firepower, less mobile, less crowdcontrol/support. Though he has Slow, which is practically a cheat during boss battles.

You should have a better time with the Amazon after the 1.03 update. Slightly weaker, but Berserk is far easier to upkeep now, esp. on mob battles. Also, I never tried, but I heard she can blockParry magic now, too.

As for Elf. I advise against putting any SP on Rapidshot. At most, only Level 2. She has no good area attacks that can hit enemies in "another row" (she can't hit enemies "above" and "below" her), so I recommend that you gather some Glacier Ring x3 from Lucain using your higher level characters. You can also opt for Freeze Ring for less power but more usage. Ice Rings are useless, though.

P.S. Sorry if names are weird, I'm playing the JP version. >_<

I'll wait a little then and add 10 euros to my wallet whenever I feel like playing the game again. Very soon, probably.

But i'll have the same problem. 5.35 (current money) + 10 - 12 (DLCs) = 3.35. And i don't like to have money in my wallet. Damn Sony, they want me to impulse buy.

Is anyone looking forward to Valhalla Knights 3? From the description and trailer I thought it was an interesting action RPG but seeing actual gameplay videos turned me off a bit.

Do you know where i can find the full list of class changes for 1.02?

If you don't mind them in Japanese, you can find the info here. The 1.02 stuff is considered complete, except for the exact values of the Wizard MaxMP charge damage increase, I think.

The class-specific stuff for 1.03 aren't updated in this Update page yet, but IIRC, only the Amazon got a balance update and they're in the Amazon page.

I can do a rough translation for 1.02 and 1.03 class changes if you want.

Oh -- you want to get rid of the rest of your balance, huh?
Can't you just use paypal to fund a random amount?
That's the one thing that I miss about having my CC on file, for sure... but I've learned to just carry a balance -- and if it's less than something I want? I'll add funds and not worry about it. :)

I just dig the WWF "pick up an enemy and powerbomb them into a group of enemies" aspect of the dwarf. The rock skin part is cool as well as the decreased focus on the "spam []" like with the fighter.

Thanks for the info though... I'll have to keep those in mind when I check them out.

Well got to my first end point in VLR. They dont explain the jump mechanic either just send you right to the beginning. If I didn't already know about it I would be tearing my hair out listening to all the dialogue again

You can skip dialogue with "start" button if i remember correctly - every dialogue you already heard can be skipped.

Well, I don't know if Paypal works better, but when i use my credit card for funding but I only add 5 multiples. ( <- 5, 10, 15... i don't know if i explained well)
I only bought a PSN code because it was 13 euros (15% discount and 5 euros in FNAC points). So it was as if Uncharted were 8 bucks instead of 15.

I may buy an Ys PSP game. I want to try that franchises, i haven't played any game yet, but the gameplay videos i've seen are pretty cool. I think 1&2 are for 10 euros.

Patches have fixed loading times in the past, Wipeout and Mind-0 were fixed post launch.

A lot of Vita games have loading problems. It's the only thing that annoyed me when i first played it. Uncharted, Gravity Rush and especially Wipeout. If the loading times are 15-30 seconds now, I'm afraid how much time you had to wait when it launched.
