I'm stuck on where to go from here.. I've reached Titan HM in the Relic Reborn quest and can't progress further until I get Darklight gear, meanwhile server groups will only accept people with their Relic Weapon for CM or AK speed runs. It's real catch-22.

Just go to North Thanalan. Dark Devices gives great exp. Also, I never did Page 2 of my Hunting Log, and me beating 2-4 leveled me up from 44 to 45. So if you haven't done your hunting log, you should work on it.

Also. You shout yourself and someone invites you, the party leaders don't shout for fate parties usually. Dragonhead is still good exp.

Not sure what I was doing wrong, but I did Dark Devices for the first time a few nights ago and barely got any XP from killing the mobs that kept spawning, and then only 9 or 10k when the fate actually ended.

Have to jump into a group to AoE/claim the consistently spawning mobs on top of the rooftop.

Aside from that, it's a 4-Part FATE chain. Even if you aren't able to take advantage of the Dark Devices part, there's still 3 other parts to it, making it well worth it even without a AoE/claim group.

Were you in a party? The EXP comes from all the mobs that you kill in a large chain, and it helps if you're in a party big time.

Yeah I was in a full 8-man party. I guess we just didn't have the AOE to chain/kill enough. I was on SMN so there wasn't much I could do - I don't remember what everyone else was.

The main benefit of mercy stroke is only reliably possible when soloing; as long as DPS are doing their job, you shouldn't really have a chance to kill with it. As for stoneskin, someone else in the pt should be handling it already.

Yeah that's what I tried to do for the second half, but I probably only snagged a handful. There's just so many people there! Thanks for the replies, though. I'm glad to hear I wasn't missing anything obvious, just a bad group composition.

As others have said, you must be in a group, and there are two kinds of enemies that spawn, killing one advances the fate, if you have cooperation among the groups there, you can keep it going till the timer almost runs out and get upwards of 100k exp on one part of the 4 part fate.

They said it would be for the people going afk as soon as a run starts, so it will probably only be possible to vote kick people who are afk or not moving for extended periods of time. It won't just let you randomly kick people. They are very aware of it's potential for abuse, and it is easy to prevent.

Any time movement is required or if a enemy has a sliver of life left.

It can also be used as a "filler" spell in-between going from Astral Fire III to Umbral Ice III [after casting Blizzard III] while you wait for your mana to recover. I normally use that time to re-apply Thunder III, though, as the timing for that and then casting Fire III instantly is pretty much perfect.

Later on through the run he says "DPS is lacking, you're all in AF gear, this is supposed to be a speedrun?", then says "g2g, people need me for coil" and leaves. It's like...why else are we doing the runs? To get out of the damn AF gear.

And I really wish these archers would stop tagging the FATE boss and then running around in circles, makes it a pain to target stuff. Even though I'm squishy as hell, at least I keep the boss in one spot (and the CNJ and WHM are nice enough to keep me healed).

And leveling THR is so much easier than Arcanist

I just hit 50 last night. HM primals suck. I watched a video for Ifrit and I was able to do it on the first try without getting hit (until the wipe). The first two times I queued we almost got him, but people start leaving after 1 wipe. The 3rd time I queue there was no blackmage so people left. It wouldn't be so bad but the 30-45 minute queue to get in sucks.

Something like the "MVP" system is neat, but not exactly how I would do it. It should punish assholes before it rewards nice people. Meaning, the base line is that everyone gets stuff unless they are mean to someone. Voting is bad, but handing out points to people you found helpful would be better. Originally I thought there should be a bonus to tomestones for doing story quests with new players, but you only receive them at their discretion (likely punishing those who are forcing them to skip cutscenes).

The design of Coil makes it really casual, we only spend about an hour or hour and a half a day 3-4 days a week and we gotten this far, really enjoy that SE decided to avoid having the filler trash that reigns in other games and just made the challenge be in the complex yet fun fights.

So I was being bitched at today for not being equipped properly for the Titan HM fight using DF.
All my slots are blue, have all darksteel accessories, and using Ifrit's blade. Yet, they proceeded to complain about how we're gonna fail. As we're fighting Titan, the healer pulls out too much hate (and the other tank was not using enough emnity attacks to keep Titan on him). Everyone complains its because of the Paladin's gear that he is not able to hold hate, and the three people left after we got wiped.

What kind of idiocy is this? lol.

yep, think i'm done with this until they do something about the final stretch. I just don't enjoy doing leves or fate grind. period. and I don't have the luxury of time to do stuff i'm not having fun with. shame i won't get to mess with endgame stuff, but hopefully content comes at a steady pace and last few levels get padded with stuff i'm interested in. Honestly the boring 40-50 took a fraction of the time it is taking to grind out the same few dungeons to get gear that you need to advance to the real end game. I dont mind having a grind but having such a small amount of dungeons to run over and over is nauseating. Its so bad I had to take a break to level botany.

It's not too bad as long as you make sure to stay several levels ahead of the story, then the grind isn't near as bad.

Man, after leaving up my lancer class a little bit, I realized that I just do not like the melee roles all that much. I didn't like puglist either, now that I think about it. I know Bard is pew pew pew, but I really, really, really don't like getting up and personal with some of these enemies. It's easier to see what in the hell is going on that way.

Ah oh well, just about 18 more levels and I'll have arguably the best cross-class for a Bard. Then I can get this story over with and get to the end-game. Of course, that is going to require more Fate grinding to get done in a sensible time frame.
