Fighting Games Weekly | Sept 30 - Oct 6 | Hard Knockdown Life

ULTRA SFIV, UMVC3, KOF and Smash are the ones I would really watch. The rest don't have as much hype to them.
 
I've just saw that Art made an one hour long video going thought all changes of the new Injustice patch! I'll give him some CPM before the break

I really wish EVO would do a country based 5 on 5 with AE and Marvel. It's obvious which country would win which but it would be interesting. Team Japan should be Haitani, Tokido, Daigo, Sako and the fifth person is something all four of them should decide on. Personally I would choose Kazunoko or Dogura.

Hey, that's an improvement from 2 years ago (where the event was 60K in the red or something dumb)! At this rate, Canada Cup 2015 will actually break even!

I think the fact that they run so few games at Canada Cup hurts it. One thing that's unique about the FGC is how spread out players are across games compared to other competitive games. SSF4 and UMvC3 are the biggest games by far... but they only make up about half of the entrants for a typical event, and even the biggest events are heavily player-driven.

5v5 country Marvel would be so fucking free. They would have to handicap team USA for it to be even a real thing. Also it would be better to do it by region than by country so you can make the following regions:

Socal
Norcal
North East Coast
South (Florida, Texas etc)
Europe
Latin America (Central and South)
East Asia
Canada + rest of the world (Australia, Kuwait etc)

CC focuses on the team tournament, a few core games, and the afterparty, which makes it unique.

Canada cup ran every evo game, so that's not the problem.

Weren't they going to do this for AE? I was really excited for it. Shame they didn't/couldn't go through with it though. At least there's hope that they'll have it next year.
 
Bullshit that lapchi LOST money. TOs are always lying. We all know you make a good chunk of money (20-30k+ easily with sponsors, entry fee, spectator fee, subscriptions) or why else would you do it every year? Nobody is in the business of losing money. Let me call James and put this shit on blast.

Seriously though, god DAMN that's a lot of money.
 
I would expect the venue cost in Vancouver to be quite a bit more expensive than Calgary. Actually, I would expect Vancouver to be more expensive in general.
 
Lap Chis is ballin though. Shows that the FGC is not all just poor folks. A shame more outside money is slow to come. (Well not really sad, it makes the games sell themselves rather than sponsors like SC2)
 
It takes a certain kind of dedication to a community to take $18k losses per year on an event. Or you drank through the budgeting process. Or you're MLG.

People always want something to root for. It doesn't get any bigger than rooting for your country.

Ultimately I feel the FGC should get to a point where multiple games has a good amount of highest level people worldwide in order for events like these to happen. And it should be a staple thing at EVO. That is mah dream!

Solid list, East Coast I would personally put Moons and Flux over Ranma and Flash. Moons matches are hype and Flux you have more cheap stuff.
