wow it only had 77 new pokemon? no wonder DP was the worse gen imo. only a few good pokemon came out that gen(like about 5 or something) with the best one being my man Dusknoir

If 70 new ones is real, it can't include Megas. Just the Megas we know about would push the known Dex count over 50, if that were the case. GF are trolls, but not that bad.

Understood. Same with all the formes. They still arent new pokemon though. Just powered up forms. Not a dex entry? Not a new pokemon. I guess 100 always feels right to me but i can understand that the number of pokes are getting high. Maybe nintendo ought to release new pokes every other gen or something.
Legit evos count. Gen IV was great for expanding the base rather than throwing in more pidgy, ratata, and fish clones. Increase depth not breadth

In this case, I am assuming 70 is referring to new pokemon in general, including evolutions: Gen IV had 107 new pokemon.

Seeing Japanese people fume about the early release like that while seeing us English speakers derive enjoyment to provoke more conflict feels really ironic, considering how the worldwide release came about as the result of Pokemon being something that has brought people joy worldwide. I feel like I'm experiencing the worst of both sides right now.

Moves were split by physical and special rather than being based on type. Look up the circular charts for competitive play from previous gens

Gen V has some of the best(and worst) designs created Krookodile, Galvantula, Chandelure, Swoobat, Reinculus, etc. are all awesome. D/P was boring and uninspired.

Ugh, I can't stop looking at the leaks! All I really wanna see are the final evolutions for the starters so I can decide who to pick and maybe a couple other random new pokemon to hold me over.
On another note, do we know if there will be any way to transfer pokemon from Gen V games upon launch? I know about PokeBank, but that isn't released until December. Would be kind of annoying to wait two months to transfer from the older games.

Yeah. Gen IV was the one where I started to feel that maybe I needed a break from Pokemon. Gen V totally turned me back around.
GTS is #1 on my "fix this shit" list, along with a bigger crackdown on hacked pokemon.
