The biggest hype I had for this game was the global launch. The fact that there would be no guides before launch, everyone would be going in blind.

Cool, I get this. And I can understand, it'd be great to go in blind. But let's face it, it's almost impossible to go in 100% blind in this day and age. Even when R/B first came out when I was a kid it was impossible to go in completely blind.
I'd understand if it was a week before launch, but this early, it kind of makes me not want to buy it at all. Or at least wait.

So it leaked 10-11 days before release. What difference does 3-4 days make to you that it leaking those few days early has now caused you to not want to buy the game?

Your logic is like...

Not everyone is going in blind (And although it would be okay if it leaked 7 days before, it leaked 11 days before) > I'm not going to buy the game (Or maybe I'll wait a bit and buy it later when I've been spoiled on everything instead of just a few things).

It doesn't make sense. Not quite sure how a couple of sentences is a thorough explanation either!
 
I guess he liked the idea of everyone playing at the same time without knowing everything about the games beforehand. I get it, and that would have been nice...but it was pretty much inevitable that some random store would break the street date and we'd get leaks.
 
Yeah, and hell even back then the games probably leaked, but there wasn't much internet before.

To be clear, though, the purpose of those early game lepidopterans is to showcase the power of evolution.

A 2nd stage Pokemon, even one at level 10, still has much higher stats than most of the base stage Pokemon you're running into/your opponent trainers are using. So for those first few gyms, those lepidopterans are great teammates.

After THAT, however, they need to rely on gimmicks to be useful, because their stats sure aren't good. Butterfree has accurate Sleep Powder. So maybe this new guy'll have something neat, too.

You're absolutely right, though. It WILL suck. But it's not useless.
 
Seems like Ralts is a Fairy-type too, not only Gardevoir. I wonder if that will affect Gallade's typing.

So this dude has played for hours and the only new things he shows us is some boring evolutions of pre-gym three jobber Pokemon?

One interesting thing to note is that older Pokemon are in the regional Kalos Pokedexes. Makes me worry that the 70 new Pokemon rumor is indeed true.
 
Why am I not still living in Italy?!

Hope they hurry with the leaks, especially if there are more X or Y mega evolutions. I still need to choose which game to get.

Without Sleep clause, Butterfree is actually usable (Not good, not decent, just usable) in ubers thanks to Compound Eyes+Sleep Powder+Quiver Dance set-up. Of course, that metagame only lasted for five seconds before mass Darkrai spam killed it.

That's a hell-of-a-lot better than most Pokemon can claim, so I guess I'm wrong about at least one of the bad butterflies. :-\ Beautifly, Dustox, Mothim, and Beedrill (Honorary butterfly) still suck, tho.

She's definitely usable. Her abilities and movepool are amazing, but that BST and typing are forever going to hold her back. She's a really fun Pokemon to use when you feel like messing around.

My point is that she's pretty much as "good" as a low BST Bug/Flying-type is going to be. Being as good as Butterfree is the best thing Vivillon could hope for.
 
I wonder if Kostdin (the instagram dude) went to sleep or he just decided to stop posting pictures. Liam (the 4chan dude) went to sleep apparently.
 
I sure would be sleeping, isn't it like 5 in the morning in Canada now?
Do anyone know any Italian leaks? They have daytime now. I haven't seen anything from Italy, but if anyone sees anything new I can try translating.

Each gym leader could have diffident sets of pokemon depending on how many badges you have. If so I hope you can challenge all again after beating everyone, or even after pushing them into the next set.
