That looks great. Basically it's an armored knight -- the brown furry bits are traces of the hedgehog underneath, while all of the beige bits are what would be silver armor on a knight. His chestnut shell is perpendicular to his body so that if he lies belly-down it will snap over his body and protect him from attack.

It's a frog ninja, it looks sleek and emphasizes the lankiness of a real tree frog, and it uses its tongue as a ninja scarf. That just is so ridiculously off-the-wall and cool for me. I love how Pokemon takes natural features of real world organisms and just extends them to a fantasy look.
This is why I thought the leak prior to yesterday seemed pretty legit, because of how realised the concept was, including having a frog's tongue doubling as a ninja scarf.

I'm really torn over who to choose. I'm one of about 4 people on here who seem to like them all. I'm pretty indifferent to all of them, but Chespin looks the most fun.

Oh and because everyone else is...

Empoleon > Venusaur > Swampert > Charizard > Torterra > Feraligatr > Blastoise > Typhlosion > Greninja > Samurott > Delphox > Emboar > Infernape > Meganium > Blaziken > Sceptile > Chestnaught > Serperior

Few men are great enough to recognize Empleon's worth. He's awesome.

Okay, so direct contact moves only. Still a pretty cool move.

Chesnaught vindicated.

I like this explanation.

Sceptile > Venusaur > Chesnaught > Meganium > Serperior > Torterra
Blastoise > Feraligatr > Swampert > Empoleon > Greninja > Samurott
Typhlosion > Infernape > Charizard > Emboar > Blaziken > Dolphox

Anyone who disses on Chesnaught are pretty much just looking at its face. Same with Delphox really. The odd angle makes their faces look weird.

How can people hate on Chesnaught? It looks the part, it does the part, and it pretty much continues the chestnut evolution! One of the best Grass evos so far.

Torterra > Chesnaught > Venusaur > Sceptile > Meganium > Serperior
Blaziken > Infernape > Typhlosion > Emboar > Delphox > Charizard
Feraligatr > Blastoise > Samurott > Greninja > Empoleon > Swampert

Don't know what to think of these starter evolutions.

Blown potential.

Not like it can change to begin with. You've already made up your mind.

Typhlosion=Charizard>Infernape=Blaziken=Emboar>Delphox
Feraligatr=Empoleon>Greninja>Blastoise>Swampert>Samurott
Torterra>Sceptile>Chesnaught>Venusaur>Serperior>Meganium

Not that Delphox is terrible exactly, it's just so boring looking in comparison to every other fire starter. Kind of a shame considering its cool typing. At least Chesnaught and Greninja are cool

Just started catching up with the news. Tbh, I find these evolutions just as disappointing with the Gen V starters but I'm sure they'll grow on me eventually. Currently debating whether to get Fennekin or Froakie. I want to see Delphox and Greninja in action first!

I'm honestly shocked that people don't like Chesnaught. It looks like a knight.
GF has said that after disappointment with the 2nd gen's starters just becoming bigger versions of the first forms that they design them to be more surprising.

Also, colour me shocks that Greninja and Hawluchah were real. And that Pokebeach's source got the starters wrong. Absolutely shocked.

Now I know why I wasn't fond of the Gen II starters. They're not that bad, but I didn't think of them as great either. Putting aside Gen I, my favorite starters has to be Gen III and Gen IV.

Greninja > Blastoise > Empoleon > Swampert > Feraligatr > Samurrot
Torterra > Venasuar > Serperior > Sceptile > Chestnaut > Meganium
Infernape > Charizard > Delphox > Blaziken > Typhlosion >Emboar

Spike Shield sounds like an awesome move, I hope it's one the previous evolutions can learn as well. Do we know if it reduces damage like Reflect, in addition to reflecting 1/2 damage?

Also, since Chesnaught is Grass/Fighting, it looks like the original Pokebeach rumors were wrong. What does that make Greninja now? Water/Dark?

I'm really liking Chesnaught. Not as good as Greninja, but much, much, much better than Delphox.

I still wish we would have gotten something closer to this for Froakie though.

I dig that Chestnaught is an unusual color scheme. I'm kind of tired of green, lime green, earth brown, etc, for Grass starters. This is a refreshing change of pace. Plus, the way he's hunkered over with his spacious shell-cape just screams, "Come at me, bro."

I'm really conflicted as to which starter evo I like best. I like unique characters. They're all unique here. I think I'm mostly torn between Delphox and Chestnaught. Each is so quirky, but in wildly different ways. Chestnaught is dense in detail and Delphox is streamlined and simple. One's a knight and the other's a wizard. Both are cool. Like trying to pick a starting class in a high fantasy RPG...

I could be wrong, but my understanding based on the description is it works like protect rather than reflect.

This was maybe the best groups of starters (especially from a diversity standpoint) in their first forms. But honestly, Fennekin and Chespin's finals went in a direction that I think is either aesthetically boring or stupid. And I'm almost okay with Froakie until the tongue/scarf thing bothers me all over again.

You think you have me all figured out as some Gen 1/2 fanboy when I don't even like a good third of those final evolutions either. It's sort of obnoxious frankly. I'm sorry I don't share your apologism for everything Pokemon... I have my own tastes.

Chesnaught is growing on me, tbh. Cum to me.

Venusaur > Sceptile > Chesnaught > Meganium > Serperior > Torterra
Empoleon > Blastoise > Greninja > Samurott > Feraligatr > Swampert
Blaziken > Charizard > Typhlosion > Delphox > Emboar > Infernape

Oh! I love listing favorite starters!

Empoleon>Torterra>Infernape>Freninja>Emboar>blahblahblah...

Hmm... turns out I don't actually love listing favorite starters enough to go through the rest aside from my top 5... Ah well.

Yeah when I think of medieval knights I think of long armed flabby men with 2 foot long beards and a spiky turtle shell on their backs as they hunch over

Hating how rushed the episodes are in Origin. I mean sure I played the game and can make out whats happening and what has happened during Reds quest but would love more insight on it.

FUCK YEAH BATTLE PROTECT! WE KNIGHT BUILD NOW!

And you say that that's a bad thing. That's the point. It's a heavy knight.

NO

he is weak

when Diggersby uses his ears to force his way through his exposed shell and fist his asshole into the void you will regret the choices you made in life boss doggie

please understand that

Seems so. So instead of a reverse triangle, we have two ways to pile on the pain to the starters weak to our choices. I'm still gonna fight my rival's Greninja with Delphox. And win.
