That's what he gets for saying hi.

Edit: lol'd hard at the cop losing the argument and saying "WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP ;__;"

I'm sorry but next time just don't be black in public and definately don't talk to a stranger while doing it!

PROBABLE CAUSE:

Black males walking and talking to each other. May or may not have robbed someone in the world at time of stop.

What's worse the few asshole cops that do this shit or the many that remain quiet and allow it to continue?

"We should take that one just for his fucking big mouth"

How utterly disgusting and inhumane of these particular officers.

One thing is for sure, they'll never say hi to a cop. That's the real deathwish.

Man, as a white guy, I'm well aware this happens, but have never gone through anything like it myself. That would be fucking terrifying.

Cops don't even just deserve to lose their jobs, they deserve some jail time as well.

what? cops don't bother females, unless you mean sexual harassment.

I do, cops have been shown to systematically impede rape and sexual assault investigations through harassment of the victim, attempting to paint the victim as a slut, and sheer unwillingness to help victims/actual investigation.

Yay Philadelphia!

Where's the racist part though? I only watched the first 5 minutes. Not sure I see what's wrong with what they did - like the cop said we don't know what they saw/heard.

Stopping two black men for saying hi to someone on the street. Not telling them why they are arresting them. Treating them like garbage.

It's pretty clear why they did it.

Let's start with:

"You ever been locked up before?
"Yeah."
"For what?"
"Being in a fight."
"That's all?!"

I heard plenty more, but I'll have to watch it through again for quotes.

"You weaken this country." Calling them freeloaders.

Asks him what his job is.
Guy says he's a server.
"Yeah, serving weed."

"I need your DoB to check you out. There's a hundred of these names. Don't you know how this works?" Because of course, the guy must know how this works, he's black.

I wonder where police officers fall in the application and punishment in the eyes of the law. Ideally, an officer would constantly uphold the law and never cross it but cops are humans too and are bound to make mistakes, that's fine. What gets me is whether an officer should be subjected to more strict punishments since they are granted more power than a citizen. A police officer has the right to harass, violently attack, and kill if there is reason so where is the added responsibility for such powers? Even class B license holders are subject to twice the price of moving violations even if they're in their own vehicle.

He really should send that video to all the local news affiliates within his area. It's important that scuz-buckets like that have their racist behavior and baiting tactics shown to the entire world. They get away with crap like this far too often, but fortunately with technology like cell phones w/ video being widespread now, it's getting easier to show the kind of harassment and shitty treatment people suffer from those that are suppose to "serve and protect".

It's funny too, because one of the first things out that asshole's mouth was to "turn that cell phone off!" If they weren't doing anything wrong, they should have no reason to be afraid of being filmed.

Around 7 min. mark, cop talks about how black people are free loaders and how he is drug dealer despite no evidence to make such statements.

Unfortunately, those cops have their names and home addresses now. Calling them out to news networks is a pretty big risk of retaliation.

The guy who doesn't want to give his name is told that the only reason he wouldn't give his name is if he has something to hide. Fuck that cop.

Possible translation: "I'm glad I'm white, male, and middle to upper class. Cops don't seem to bother me!"

Possible Translation: "I'm too lazy to reason out that although there is tons and tons of room for significant progress to be made in this country to stamp out racism, racial profiling, and abuse of power, that it's still wholly unacceptable, dishonest, imprudent and foolish to paint all members of any one select group with the same brush. So imma just jabber angry nonsense and make really angry pouty faces till people agree with me."

Wow, jesus those officers were horrid. I don't know if I'd be able to keep from talking back. I'd at least record him (like this dude) and make him fully aware that his actions are being recorded.

You're trying way too hard. Also you seem to willfully ignore problems like the blue shield, and how ZERO significant progress has been made in disciplining those in power who willfully abuse it in the criminal justice system. So no, I really just think you don't understand.

"Jabber nonsense" was the dead giveaway in case you were wondering.

I suggest you watch more of the video, even though 5 minutes should make a good impression on how awful these two officers are.

At work so I can't watch the video, but it sounds utterly fucked up.

They made a factual statement and you launched into them, calm down.

I've been stopped for fitting the so called description a few times, also been followed for about 5 miles where the cop made every turn I made and only stopped once I actually left the city line.

I've met more shit cops in my life than I have good ones.

They? Them?

Also, it seemed a lot more like an anecdotal statement downplaying this, and any other video like it; also while choosing to acknowledge the factors that create environments that allow videos like this to exist.

Pretty sure there was no description in this case. The cop is very careful to say "How do you know we didn't get a description..." over and over again to counter the guy's statement of having not done anything. Never says they actually got a description of anyone doing anything.

I've even been chased at 100mph plus after one tried to run me off the road one night. He never turned on his lights, never used his siren. It wasn't until I was in my driveway waiting on him to catch up, had a ball bat ready to start swinging, that I realized it was an officer. I was too young and dumb to understand he was in violation of the law and my rights. Needless to say he was extra polite and left as quick as he could.

Do try to keep up:

I'm glad that not all cops are like that.

Possible translation: "I'm glad I'm white, male, and middle to upper class. Cops don't seem to bother me!"

Or a possible translation is that they are glad all cops are not like that. All cops are not like that, and it is reasonable to gald for that fact. I don't see any dowplaying anything in there. You are reading a hell of a lot into a very short statement seeking to avoid stereotyping police.

I am not at all surprised that this went down in Philly.

Philly cops are almost as scummy as fucking LAPD.

Reminds me of the time I was stopped by a cop and accused of being a prostitute as I was walking home from a friend's house, and all because I stopped at a street corner "for a long time."

In reality, all I was doing was browsing for an album to play on my iphone.

I could understand him possibly being afraid of retaliation, especially if douchbag cops like that are in his area frequently. However, I'd still go ahead and release it to the news if it was me. Cops like this are typically the ones that are praised and given awards from their bravery, when they're usually cowards and bullies of the greatest degree.

If they aren't exposed for the scum they are, they'll continue to get away with it and get even more brazen each time, so I feel it would be worth the risk just to expose them for what they are.

DO you know that they didn't get a call about you? You don't know what they know!
