He just looks cool. Pikachu is the cutesy character for kids and girls, but Charizard is the anti-hero character for TOUGH GUYS. He's the Han Solo of Pokemon.

Ok, I misunderstood. I see that he said he willingly gave up his copy to try to keep the shop out of trouble and his friend from losing his job.
Fanservice and nostlagia wanking. Same with Mewtwo and the kanto starters. They just want to bring back old fans interested because of the full 3D
and play that card to hide the lack of content
Worldwide release + 700 new 3d models + 3D world + megaevo being slight model changes + Iwata's promise to bring back billions this year despite Wii U's failure = realistic reasons to expect a "rushed" game.
Rushed as in, light in content compared to some previous entries, I'm still confident it'll be good regardless.

I think it will be more than 70. I believe the 90 hype. Even though I won't be disappointed with 70. There are plenty of pokemon to use. I don't want new ones that suck for the sake of being new.

Ironic because having 150 new Pokémon is the worst scenario I can picture.
I hope Hiro is right (for the first time?) and Gen VI have 90 new Pokémon instead of 70. Though 70 is still a decent number.
We don't know the stats for most of them so its hard to say. It usually takes a couple of months for the Metagame to solidify.
Also I want Mega Typhlosion.
Replace those names with Mario and we have a Nintendo summary haha.

Yeah, as disappointed as I am at the prospect of so few new Pokemon, I'm still super-hyped for the games, and looking forward to having so many options to build my team with.
That said only three slots are really open in my team because the first three are reserved for #TeamFennekin/Squirtle/Malimar
Also, interesting thought. The first 'Special Battle' rules when rated battles become available on the PGL are single battles where only newly introduced pokemon can compete. If there's only 70, minus banned legendaries, that might be quite a limited selection...
So do we now know all the Megas or not? I know that Mega Charizard X got leaked a little bit before the Pokemon: Origins anime premiered which then went on to confirm it, and that reportedly there is also Mega Aerodactyl (has anyone seen a screen of this?) but is there anything else?

I'd be shocked if there were less than 5 legendaries still unknown to us at this time. Have a feeling we're going to get a Z legendary as well as another trio plus at least one or two more standalone legendaries.

People let down by the 70 need to also add the mega forms too. They kinda count IMO even if there is no pokedex entry. It is basically a new form for some. That alone gets it to 100.

Apparently all the previous starters are getting megas (Charizard has two), so that's 16 right there.
Buying a game before release date isn't much of a leak as much as it is just buying the game early.
Not like a film leak, where someone stole a workprint before the film is released.
From what I read, no theft occurred and it wasn't from Nintendo internally. It is the final product. Unless some damning evidence pops up where these leaker and his friend are rummaging through store inventory to find a copy, okay, but that didn't happen.
Otherwise, enjoy your early copy. It doesn't matter if the guy beat the review embargo and started posting screenshots. It's just a game. Hardly anything will be secret in a week and a half. It is just a shame the guy had to give up the copy thinking it would save his friend's job.
Now that I think of it ... probably not a good idea for store clerks to sell a game early if they don't have to and trust a friend to keep quiet about it if that's the case.
