Oh my. I guess I'll have to think of something. Maybe sometime down the road I'll grab BW cheaply and play through them for completion's sake :(

Yeah I'll probably end up doing the same. That said, Pokemon Bank doesn't start up until December so there's no rush.

They still have to make 100~150 designs every four years. And they to make things varied so a generation can appeal to all kinds of people. I've seen people on other sites say they liked a lot Gen VI pokemon but then have a huge tantrum when they see ONE pokemon that doesn't appeal to them. GF doesn't get enough credit for their work, its sad that so many people call them lazy because not every Pokemon appeals to their own personal taste.

Don't think that's the right approach, especially after the games sell like crazy already. No need to appeal to more people, while aggrivating your long timers. I feel like some people in here are forcing themselves to like these. I can accept a key Pokemon, but not a key-looking Pokemon. Especially not one with a shitty face. The hands guys would be better with a color change, its these little details that just ruin overall presentation.

You would think animating an inanimate object is harder than animating an animated object.

Don't really mean this as some dumb snark, because it's true. Coming with a concept to make key rings make sense as a Pokemon is prbably harder than say, adding fire to a monkey.

Are you talking shit about goku

No, I'm not forcing myself to like anything, you're just confusing your personal opinion and preference with fact.

It's pretty obvious more effort went into the design of this than Voltorb.

Can't argue there. Haha.

Touché. Can't argue with this either.

You can't please everyone.

It's kinda lame to call someone lazy because they didn't create something you personally approve of.

Besides, there are some pokemon designs I don't like but it doesn't ruin the game because there are tons that I love.

There are 700 plus dudes now... Not all of them can be winners. No one is forcing themselves to like them it's called having different tastes.

That's it

That just sounds really selfish, even Gen 1 designs had a lot of variety to them. Limiting a roster to stuff that would appeal to say, Tyranitar fans is a terrible idea for a series that's centered around a world filled with hundreds of monsters.

Broken image, but I know who you're talking about. I was more talking shit about pansear though.

Also I never thought voltorb as lazy. He's meant to be a mimic, so a pokeball makes the most sense.

Oh cool. I think those monkies are cute anyway.

I guess he is supposed to mimic a pokeball, but that gag got old for me . Its gag is essentially breaking the 4rth wall. It relies on your inability to distinguish what a voldtorb looks like from a players eye view. When in actuality its way larger than a pokeball. So you woulndt really mistake them.

Exactly. Every pokemon has fans. Every person is going to like at least a few of them because of the sheer variety.

Typically when someone likes a Pokemon, they can explain in detail, but mostly for bad ones people are just like "... Cool" like in design a client will like something just because the color reminds them of their dead cat.

Funny, the "bad" pokemon are the ones I usually receive the biggest explanations for.

Maybe some people force themselves to like some Pokémon, be them from Gen VI, III, I or any other, but the way you worded your sequence make it sound like everyone who likes the key/fairy Pokémon is forcing themselves into that. It just doesn't work like that.

Nah, i was mostly thinking about that hand when I made that comment. The key I think could be better, but I don't think it shouldn't exist. Like that hand.

Do we actually know how big the item pokeballs are supposed to be?

That part also never made sense to me. I don't think iItems have ever been referred to being stored in pokeballs outside of the ones you find in the wild.

Also I was more referring to the mimic as the classic RPG monsters.

Its tiny then grows to the size that fits in your hand.

Carbink is way more adorable in the new shots than I originally imagined. He originally kind of sounded like a car Pokemon to me (like an engine or something) but now I see that he's carbon with little gems stuck in his body.

Lets start making our unofficial teams since it's basically a week away:
So far if i don't switch to team chespin mine is
Froakie
Bulbasaur-mega
Heliolisk(i'm thinking this would be boss with drought Charizard just judging by his name)
Growlithe
Goomy(maybe replaced by tyraunt)
Hawklucha(possibly replace by vivillion)

I might replace goomy if there is an awesome ground type pokemon or something. Froakie, bulba and growlithe are definite stays. Screw Torchic

People may actually think they're lazy designs?

In this case, they're essentially just animating an inanimate object, sort of like what they did with Voltorb. Compared to some of the more complex, fun, clever designs out there, it seems a little....lazy.

Sometimes the word fits.
This might just be me, but I find it lazier to slightly modify a pidgeon and call it a pokemon(multiple times as well, mind you).
I like most of the bird pokemon, but most of them are uninspired and lazy as hell(especially the unevolved forms)

Inanimate objects aren't actually alive, and therefor need some creativity to "breath life" into them. Klefki in particular also has a very inspired theme going on as mentioned by everyone else.

Woah, just saw the key pokemon. Hated it until I found out the keys aren't actually part if it's body. Still don't like it a whole lot but it is much more tolerable.
