It did. The entire right side of the map wasn't accessible until the postgame. Things like Black City/White Forest, the transfer machine, Lacunosa and Undella were kept there as endgame content.

Huh, alright. Must have gotten my memories of B/W and B/W2 mixed up, as I've only started playing B/W2 a few months ago.

So Normal/Fairy, not Water/Fairy. Gotcha.

Don't forget, we get a free Torchic on launch day via a wifi event. Not sure when's the earliest we can get it, but maybe at the first Pokemon center. It starts at level 10, so hopefully the team will be around that. Starting the game with three different starters is pretty awesome. My goal is to beat the Elite 4 with one Pokemon from each region. Please have a level 5 Gible in the first route GameFreak.

I don't think so - seems that all the leakers are pretty much holding that stuff back.

I think it's nice, since I want to experience the game, but don't mind being spoiled on Pokemon selection.

I feel the same way.

I've been spoiled enough by the Pokémon, I'd like to experience some other things myself. I figure the music is something that I would stay away from if that was ever recorded or anything like that.

B2/W2 locked about as much since it locked the whole original starting area from B/W as well as a few spots on the mainland.

Oh right I was just thinking of the top left area, forgot the lower right was also locked for bw2. then yea about the same or maybe even more.

From the Anaitgames review:

¿Se puede completar la Pokédex sin necesidad de hacer intercambios con anteriores ediciones? Sinceramente, no lo sé: muchos de los misterios del juego sólo podrán ser resueltos a base de tiempo, mucho juego y mucha conexión. Los preocupados por el endgame pueden respirar tranquilos, como ya digo: hay material para mucho, mucho rato.

In short: don't worry about the endgame, there are lots and lots of things to do.

So are we looking at 90-100 new Pokemon? I think that's a safe assumption going off what's yet to be revealed.

I wonder what's up with the conflicting reports then.
I guess either conflicting opinions about how long end-game content might last (some reviewers might want more exploration/story than battle facilities or whatever) or just that maybe some reviewers have dug deeper than others into the post-game.

Technically, we're at 68 with assumed evolutions. 62 without.
And a whole lot of supposition about obligatory legendaries.

Not only are they not so obligatory for movie tie-ins in the Mega-Evolution era but we've heard jack squat about rumored/mystery legendaries... something that is prevalent in every Pokemon game up until now (except for event Pokemon). There would be references which we'd know about.

70-75 when all is said and done seems like a good guess.

It could just mean that there's a meatier main game.

He mentions that the main game is huge and that it has a lot of replayability, and then he mentions that the post-game is also big.

He also talks about a surprise element that Nintendo has forbidden to talk about...
