I want my rival to change skin tone to match what I picked.
Seriously though, I wish I got to customize my rival. I would love playing as female and having a male rival, but male rival looks so dorky. Might just go the other way around so I get a decent-looking female rival and a customizable make character.
I'd be surprised if you can cross dress in any version considering Nintendo's stance on gender expression and sexuality is from the 50's.
