:lol

Be prepared to see a lot of dragons. Fairy type won't do shit if they're Wigglytuff tier.

Sylveon is probably going to be pretty strong given what we've seen of it and then you have to consider that just because some of the fairies are small and cute looking it doesn't mean they are going to be weak. We also need to see some more of the retypings as well.

The lack of a Poison legendary is the truly baffling thing in this series. x__x

Going by Yggdrassil rumor which at least gave us an idea of what the legendaries are based off of the Z legendary is going to be a Snake.

Valierie's eyes are freaking me out... too much moe.

Olympia is also a pretty lame design.

The rest I'm fine with.

I really wonder who the Champion is.

GameFreak is terrible at this. My money's on
Diantha
being the champion. A random trainer with a spiffy design revealed among the regional antagonists while not being their leader? It happened with Alder and Cynthia before him.

I wish she was, but I suspect it's going to be someone we've never seen.

It evolves at Level 70.

Jesus christ. I'm taking this with a grain of salt, though, considering there could be an extra prerequisite (such as leveling up in rain, as has been suggested). If pure leveling, that means it's this generation's Volcarona; if not, then it's this generation's Eelektross.

Yeah, with Volcarona at honorable mention 59 I think.
Volcarona though was the harder evolution as you have to start from an egg.

Yeah, this. By the time I got a Deino in BW's Victory Road I already had enough help with EXP that it was a Zweilous during my second or third E4 rematch. (Not post-game rematch; after getting my ass beat, I mean)

Also, lore bullshit for no Dark gyms: Dark-types are generally known to be cunning pragmatists with emphasis on street smarts over authoritarian solutions. The reason we've never seen a Dark-type gym in-story is more than likely because it'd be too risky to have such a dubious trainer being part of the formal circuit. I'm guessing the Elite Four makes exception to primarily Dark-type trainers because they have the experience necessary to play it by-the-book. Plus, y'know, social stigma from all the evil teams using Dark-types and all that.

If we do ever see a Dark-type Gym, though, I'm hoping the leader is a Wind Waker Ganondorf-esque obstructive bureaucrat with a troubled past and he's only doing morally debatable junk for some greater good.

Really? That'd be pretty cool, but like I pointed out GF is terrible at hiding things. There is
a mysterious large man that the /vp/ leaker said dwarfed everyone around him
. It might be that dude, if they were going to surprise us.

Goodra... meh. Dat defense and speed :(

Built like togekiss but with a BST of 600 it seems. Gonna be my dragon on choice.

Does anyone know how to get honedge to evolve?

My team:
Chespin
Clauncher
Fletching
Honedge
Goomy
Slyveon

Extremely balanced team with no type overlap and only two pokemon at mac share the same weakness to a particular type. Plus i like em all :)

Olympia isn't that great to me, she reminds me too much of Fantina.

I feel like she's Fantina done right if anything. Fantina was of "French" descent and Kalos is Poke-France, so it makes sense.

I feel like the Champion is going to pull another Iris and completely blindside us. The tall green-haired dude has to be N or Ghetsis.

Can't say I care for megas much.

Nice team there. Yeah i was thinking of balanced types and having Fletchling was pointless for me. So my team is.

Delphox
Clawitz
Aegislash
Goodra
Hawlucha
Flogres

One new fairy,A defensive wall, special wall,Hawlucha as my physical nuke.

I have a heavy special lean tho but meh.

I think I'm the only one who just goes through the game with the pokemon I find good-looking. xD

Is Noivern a late-game pokemon?

Sp def tank yes. Would Goodra be able to survive a STAB Draco Meteor?

I really doubt it would without a berry but in that situation you would just swtich and its not like they can safely swtich in on you especially if it gets Dragon Dance(depends on its base speed).

I think that this fella is definitely going to be the pseudo a la Garchomp or Dragonite. So far, there doesn't seem to be any indication there's another dragon that would work for that.

I always do that :P

I haven't chosen my team based on stats and whatnot for a long time. I try to keep a mostly balance team of types, but that's about it.

I think my first team for playing through the game will be:

Greninja
Dedenne (love these cuties, also used Pachirisu)
Talonflame
Aegislash
Tyrantrum
Trevenant

Got meatier, dark, electric, fairy, flying, fire, ghost, steel, rock, dragon and grass

Personally, I wouldn't like any Gen V character to appear in XY, since they are already saturated to me. BUT the old man being Ghetsis would be far better than being N imo.

Usually I have a team all built out by now, but no clue what I'm doing, also I need to start building a few competitive teams, oh the madness!

Considering Ghetsis completely lost his shit at the end of B2W2 and green hair looks disheveled I would say that's the safer bet.

Agreed, no more Gen V people, even if there are a few I like.

Ive been a vocal advocate against Gen V in some Pokethreads but I still want my fav evo lines present in X&Y (Bisharp, Scrafty, Haxorus, Victini, Oshawatt, Krookodile, Cokelldurr, Escavalier, Darmantian, Galvantula, etc etc.... )

Ya know... the cool ones!

It all depends on the base stat spread. We've also gotten non-Dragon pseudolegendaries before (Metagross, and Tyranitar was a completely non-Dragon, solo pseudolegendary) so they could be changing things up. XY looks to be the GSC to BW's RBY, after all, so a Tyranitar-styled pseudo would make sense. We've also never gotten a pseudolegendary that's a single type, so with Goodra being pure Dragon, it seems unlikely.

Unlikely, seeing as how she speaks English in the Japanese versions.

Even though she's just meant to be a general foreigner, Sinnoh was very French-inspired.

Now that I think about it, generations always have shout-outs to games two gens their senior. RSE was channeling RBY (and see the remakes), DPPt channeled GSC (see HGSS), and BW had a lot of RSE references, but was an anomaly in that it didn't have the RSE remakes. It looks like XY are channeling DPPt, but right - the eighth gym leader even looks like Crasher Wake.
