All of these were terrible legendary designs IMO
I skipped this gen but damn, 145 is an abomination.

The face reminds me of the faces on the trains in Thomas the Tank Engine.

You know what would've been a good touch?
If they had their tails (or whatever they are for genies) that looked like their element.
Like Tornadus could've had its lower half be tornado, Thundurus could've had a lighting tail thing, and Landorus could've had legs.

I dunno, I think that would've been cool.

actually that would have been preety cool while i do like them i do feel there designs are missing something :/

it might look weird but its one of the best phys sweepers ever

GEN II's post content is nothing to brag about. I mean sure its awesome to fight the gym leaders in Kanto, but holy shit the Pokemon in the wild. WHY!? level 5's, 10's and 15's? The fuck.

I guess it more of a nostalgia factor to me a I guess, after coming off of blue/red/yellow it felt good to be back on the old stomping grounds. and just throwing in another continent gave the game a much more to explor feeling(and HG/SS did a better job of it)

Very, considering how puny and boring Johto was in G/S/C just so they could include a bad version of Kanto as postgame content.

I enjoyed gold/silve/crystal very much...but hey to each their own, wouldn't have to be Kanto, if I were in chare it would be the last continent of the previous game; so Unova would be the additional content

Amusingly enough, he's the only one I like out of the three/four.

Prior to HG/SS, Johto was:

1. The smallest region. From edge to edge, it was smaller than RBY Kanto.
2. The least diverse region. There were remarkably few new Pokemon in Johto itself, so you ended up running into the same cavefuls of Geodude and Zubat while you did your best to evade swarms of Nidoran and Pidgeys in the grass.
3. The easiest region. The highest level Pokemon on Lance's team was level 50. And once you did hit the postgame Kanto, everything was easier still.
4. The most compromised region. Because they made a point of including Kanto, they cut back on Johto's size (and then cut out most of Kanto's interesting locales just because there wasn't enough map space and development time).

The tradeoff for including a whole region in the postgame soured the entire experience.

This sounds awesome. I've always been interested in competitive Pokemon but have never stepped into the tournament scene. Does TournaGAF compete for a prizepool?

Eh its usually just for fun, then again anything is possible. Also with the PSS, i'm sure normal pick up battles through out the story playthrough will be so much easier.

Thats one thing I missed from the link cable RBY GSC days. Battles with pokemon that might not be at their full potential.

This is all completely subjective though. I like most of the pokemon this gen.

IDK how subjective it really is.

For example, I have seen MANY people look at Helioptile's evolve and think "That's it? It looks like a middle stage ...".

That's just one example. I haven't seen much of any love for that Fairy Rock ... thing. Could go on but yeah.

Just out of curiosity, am I correct in assuming that Heart Gold and Soul Silver addressed that issue of low-leveled pokemon in Kanto's wild? (Never played the games so I honestly don't know.)

Yet the leakers that are actually playing the game have said Helioptile's evolution looks really fucking cool in battle.

Looks like Josh is having trouble evolving Skrelp. Doesn't seem to evolve by levelling to 37, and he's tried other ways that have failed too.

"Operation Skrelp is a go for tonight, lets figure this shit out

Confirmed for not the ways: leveling to 37, leveling up while in party by exp. share, covering camera.

Note to the based gods Kanpachi and Zar, you are awesome and you do the real gods work.

Zar if you are around and can confirm its actually you, i'd like to know where you were when Clauncher evolved, i hear bullshit from Anons but i think theres more to "i leveled it to 37" than you think"

Wait a second... if there are fewer legendaries, how are they going to make their 1 Pokemon movie a year quota?

Probably a similar/same amount of event legendaries. I don't think the extras and trios ever get a major movie focus. They're always just sort of added into someone else's film.

It's very likely that there are more legendaries.
People forget because everyone data mine after the games come out in Japan, but most of the legendaries are actually supposed to be surprises.

Gen V had some pretty shitty event legendaries, too. I don't remember getting excited about any of them, really. Actually, all their legendaries were shit. I can't think of a single one I liked, and I distinctively remember thinking the mascots Resharim and Zekrom looked like Yugioh monsters.

That's because it's its "non-attacking" look

DnD movie based on Chesnaught, Delphox and greninja.

10/10 would watch

"Opinions"

So who's not going to get the game then since Megas ruined it and there's not enough new Pokemon? Anyone change their mind?

For me, Pokemon in 3D with this art style sold me enough. Everything else is icing. That's just my opinion tho. And I think Heliolisk is awesome.

Anything but GameStop only events. Please use Spotpass or whatever system they built into the game for that stuff. I hate missing events because I can never get anything from my local GameStop stores.

Hey. Darkrai is amazing. Shaymin is pretty adorable, even if the sky form isn't amazing. Arceus isn't a particularly amazing design, but I can't say I actively dislike it.

Speak for yourself. I love most of the new mons save for the two version exclusive fairies and Delphox.

The hand full of Pokemon I have seen get love from all sides are MOSTLY the officially revealed ones. Not saying that the game doesn't have nice looking mons .... but the ugly is beating the GOOD in the race between "Good/ Decent/ Ugly".

That's why I wanted 100. More chances to get some good in there.

BTW, does anyone have the regional dex pastebins?

I need to see if ralts is catchable in the wild or if I have to go through some bullshit trading thing like in B/W2.

In store events are now completely obsolete.

No 3ds game has ever had one.

Expect dlc

Haven't all the event only pokemon been distributed through wifi mystery gift? All the Gamespot ones I remember have been things like catchable legendaries or already distributed ones, but shiny or a special moveset. I think that tradeoff is quite fine.

Speaking of Lucario and Zoroark. Seems we didn't really get an equivalent to them this gen.

Earlier out of curiosity, I looked at every pkmn from Gen 5 and counted who I trained and used and liked and found 9. I did the same with Gen 6 and found 10 I like and would use. And since the game isn't out yet, things like aegislash or goodra haven't even had a chance to grow on me. It all really is subjective tho. Everything you or anyone on this board including myself think is "good" could be seen as bad by someone else and vice versa.

Also, I love the Megas.
