Why the hell is it dragon?
Because Gamefreak hates Poison types. "Fuck Poison, we need yet another legendary dragon!"

I am very disappointed with how this generation turned out. There are individual Pokemon that I like, but the low number of new ones and the repetitive design elements (Compare Punkaboo and Phantump, for example) make it feel too small. There are some really inventive concepts like Aegislash, but it doesn't feel like enough.

We hate deer. They kill more people than sharks and bears combined.

Yep. As a citizen of Michigan, when I see a deer I just see hundreds of dollars worth of car damage (if not way more depending on where they hit you). Stupid animals. They just run out in the road with no thoughts about what might happen. I see nothing majestic in Xerneas.

Xerneas is truly jusT the best legendary since Lugia. Not sure why anyone would choose Yvetal over it tbh (unless it's about masculinity.. chh)

Because Yvetal looks cooler, it's that simple.

Dragon/Poison definitely seems like a better fit for a snake legendary

Might be a dumb question, but how many pokemon can you actually catch in X/Y? Like 350 of the 700+ or what?

based on the 3 split dex's this region i dont think i see duplicates in those but i would say safe to assume ~450 pokemon some being evos of caught but u get the idea they are obtainable in game.

They are also everywhere. Thank Talos for hunting season.

It really doesn't. It's just another bird / dragon looking thing. Been done too many times and it's not even as good as it's counterparts.

The /vp/ leaker apparently figured out the problem...

You're apparently blocked from going past a certain point until you get a haircut.

Pokemon designs are subjective and I only gave you one of many reasons why people like Yvatel.

Looking "cooler" is the same thing that I already said though, it all comes down to what design is the more masculine look. Kyogre, despite being a natural and more memorable design, was overshadowed by Groudon simply because Groudon looked "cooler". I know it's subjective but I don't agree that a cooler looking Pokémon = better design.

I just realized: This gen has two Poison types and three Bug types, with only one fully-evolved mon for each.

WHAT THE FUCK GAMEFREAK WHAT THE FUCK.

This honestly pisses me off more than any visual design-related thing.

I find them both well designed, although Kyogre gets bonus points for actually having a beneficial typing for its ability.

Man I know FAR more people who like Kyogre better. Where are you pulling these over shadowed numbers?

No legit console pokemon games has always been one of the most baffling things in all of gaming to me. Would love to see if there are actually good arguments for why that is.
1. Pocket Monsters. Was designed to be a handheld game, meeting up with friends to trade and battle, etc.
2. Making a console version would be a lot more expensive to make, and wouldn't necessarily sell better.
3. The handheld games sell amazingly. Why jeopardise messing with a good thing by suddenly making the handheld games inferior?

We have a billion bug-types already, no?

It gets worse.

The only new Poison-type Pokemon is version-exclusive. The Bug-line is the weak, early game "evolves at Level 12 done to death" Bug/Flying.

Also Ground gets fucked too, just a Legendary and the second form of the Regional Rodent.

I love the deer. But Mewtwo X and Charizard X ruin that version. I would say those who buy X are the ones doing it for the "masculinity" over the elegance on Charizard Y and the slickness of Mewtwo Y.

Around 450 it seems, each of the three Dex has 150 Pokemon. But that doesn't include the National Dex you get after the E4, you can probably catch more post-game through certain methods.

Charizard X's art looks great but he is pretty lacking in game. The flame tusks look more like wings than fire.

Both Mewtwo's look crap.
Charizard X looks a little better than Charizard Y.

I'm buying Y becasuse I like Yveltal. Seriously, some people need to stop thinking they completely understand why people do the things they do, like the things they like, etc. People are fucking different. Different Pokemon appeal to them. Deal with it.

I think Groudon's torso and side burns are WEIRD shapes. I had Ruby back in the day and I would hesitate to call it cool.

Bug has the opposite issue to Dragon. We have hardly any dragons but they're almost all really good and/or legendary, whereas we have tons of bugs and most of them are shit.

Charizard X has a better typing tough, regardless of what you think of the design. I prefer Mewtwo X because Mewtwo Y is too out there with the Gamecube handle head.

Imo, Y only wins with Skrelp. Both exclusive fairies are trash so why bother with those.
