Don't worry, though. The longer you're in denial, the more entertaining this is for me.

Some things I want to see in a R/S/E remake:

- I want the old player character to be a "secret trainer" in the game, much like Red in Gold and Silver. NPC's mention him now and then, and you can face him somewhere after the E4. Lvl 70 Pokémon or higher. (Possibly with a Groudon or Kyogre depending on your version.)

- Mystery bases are still there, but get expanded with wi-fi functionality (easy access friends list like the current PSS system and all)

- The world is still the same, but time has moved on. E4 has undergone changes and there are new gym leaders as well (maybe add a dark gym leader and make up a story why the gym changed to that type? Then again, the old E4 already had a dark type member). I basically want a remake where we play a new guy who has moved to Hoenn a few years after the original player character.

- As I mentioned above, time has moved on so we would need a new story. Not that these games are story heavy, but all of this is happening years after team magma/aqua almost destroyed the world with kyogre/groudon so we'd need some new events besides the gym leaders and E4.

But then , ot wouldnt be a remake, its more like a sequel

In specific instances like that, the Relicanth & Wailord thing, how on earth would someone with no prior knowledge know how to do that kind of thing?

At the moment my team is looking like: Delphox, Blastoise, Malimar, Goodra, and two free slots that will probably be taken up by old Pokemon. One will likely be Misdreavus, if it can be found in the wild in this game. Another candidate is Gardevoir.

Well the remakes were both made a 1-2 years after the original game. 2015 is much more likely.

Yeah, it does make sense. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Z/XY2 just includes Hoenn as a post game.

Still, it would be nice to see Hoenn fully realized with a night/day cycle, etc.

High Sp. Defense, the supposed stats are some pages behind but it seems he'll be bulky.

I'm a bit sad we won't get something super overpowering coming from the Pseudo, as much as I love Goodra's design. I hope Aegislash is as broken as it sounds.

Eh couldn't you swap from Crystal to Ruby? so it worked back then and you could argue it still works. It is just annoying to set up, and for people only owning a 3DS nowadays it is annoying to put in GBA cartridges

While I think that was a motivation for Fire Red and Leaf Green, that's probably hardly a motivation now or was for HGSS versus appealing to nostalgia and making profits. Also I'd say it is and only will get increasingly harder for the players to transfer all the way back from the GBA era, you need a pre-Dsi DS for one, the GBA games for two, etc etc.

Good luck trying to track down a copy of the Hoenn games, as they are looong out of print, with a high chance of running into fakes and can't be played on a 3DS.

This route as well as Fortree are my favorite areas in Hoenn. I generally love all the cities and towns in Hoenn. Please fief be that remake!

With the assumption of no secret Pokemon and/or Pokemon that come after Zygrade in the Pokedex yes. (there is likely a mew-like pokemon that takes the number to 70 but other than that I'm not really holding my breath)

Event Pokemon and DLC Pokemon don't have to be mutually exclusive. If it's a whole new "region" that you gain access to, it wouldn't have to affect the base game at all.
