Has there been any news on Mega Heracross yet? I know they said they found the stone a few days ago, but doesn't seem like there's been any recent developments on that yet.
Also, there's no way Pikachu/Raichu isn't getting a Mega Evolution, it's the freaking mascot of the series. If Legendaries and 3 stage evos get one, there's no way ol' Pika won't get one either.

I'm more confused about Dedenne not having one. Seems so perfect for an evolution.
That just follows the tradition of Pachirisu, Plulse/Minun, Emolga and now Dedenne. Electric rodents with no evo.

I'm not too surprised about that one, he's pretty much the Pachirisu and Emolga of this generation.
In fact, the only "electric rodent" of any generation to get any evolutions was the Pikachu line, but he's the mascot of the entire series so that's to be expected.

I'm not sure how anyone's keeping track of the Mega Stones at this point. Seems like you find them via story things or NPC? I'm not sure ...
And all these "Mega Evol TM LIST!" never actually have all the confirmed megas.
So yeah, if we don't get Mega Pikachu in the game in a normal way then I'm guessing it's gonna be it's own big DLC event like the Torchic give away. I mean, they basically made a whole MOVIE for those of us Original Fans that was about Charizard and revealed Char-X ... I'm sure they would make a big deal outta Pikachu in the anime when it happens.
I wanted more pokemon in the direction of Carbink, Klefki, and Xerneas but whatever.
EDIT: Could Cresselia be possible? It would make a lot of sense type-wise and if no-one has seen it yet we can't tell if it was retyped or not.

Yes.
They are Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno apparently.

So at this juncture, there must just be undiscovered areas only accessible at this stage in the game, 29 pokemon is alot to have just randomly missed

I have a question. How do we know there aren't 3 secret legendaries? I mean the B/W pokedex had 3 legendaries are Kyurem that IIRC weren't in the national dex until after they were obtained
We don't. We also don't know if there's any secret evolutions like in Diamond and Pearl.
It's a given there's some secret event legendary mons.

People forgot that the ROMs were hacked to see the mons of Gen V, but VI isn't yet.
I'll admit that part of me wanting the game is due to Amie.

Well the secret evos in DP appeared before the legendaries in the national dex , so unless they did it differently this time it's likely all there is left is event pokemon after zygrade, undiscovered formes and mega evos.
Admittedly, we just can't say with absolute certainty that they don't exist. They aren't opposed to putting legendaries ahead of regular Pokemon in Pokedex order - Platinum added 100 Pokemon to the Sinnoh dex beyond Manaphy, Victini comes before all of Gen V... they've toyed with the numbering before.
I'm not saying to get anyone's hopes up, but there's bound to be some actual secrets in there for a change given that this is the first time we can't just crack into the data structure and see what's hiding inside.

Considering the dex was split (for some odd reason. Maybe it'll become clear why...) we can't say it's set up entirely the same, aside from starting with the starters and legendaries generally being towards the end
Lets people try and fill them up one at time without it feeling overwhelming.
Leakers have the national dex now though. The way the local dex is set up shouldn't matter.

No one can say. Togepi has not been found yet. I want to know this just as much as you do, but my current theory is that Togepi will not become a Fairy type.
So far, with all of the Fairy retypings done so far, all of them were added to Pokemon who only had one singular type. Not one Pokemon has had 2 types and one of them changed to fairy. I believe that the Togepi line will remain Normal/Flying and possibly have a Mega Evolution where Normal is changed to Fairy.
Can you catch Scyther in X or Y?
It's likely. Scizor is found with one of the
Elite Four members.

I'm buying Y digitally with my credit.
X is coming in the mail from Amazon along with the strat guide shortly after launch.
Between the two versions, but yes. We already know of one event only mega evolution in the form of Mega Blaziken, so there's probably more tucked away that aren't immediately catchable.
Not surprisingly, this gen's new pokemon are a disappointment overall like the last two gens. There are a few winners like the tree and Aegislash (cool ability), but come on. Keys are a pokemon now? What's next? An Alarm Clock pokemon? A telephone pokemon? A magazine pokemon? Only 1 new poison type that's not only exclusive to Y and but has an underwhelming design? And I don't like the pseudo legendary. I'm not a fan of the design, It's typing is lame, it evolves at level 70 which is all but assured to be post game, and it's stats aren't really that impressive for a pseudo legendary.
I'm not sure how I feel about Megas. Most designs are ok but idk if I'd like it gameplay wise. Someone speculated earlier that you could visit Kanto, which if true would be awesome, but someone else said that post-game is limited, so it seems unlikely to me. I'm 50/50 on the game right now, played every gen since the original Yellow in 1999 and bought them all except gen 4, but at this point it seems unlikely for me to buy it. Maybe used down the road.
