If Togekiss is Fairy/Flying like people speculate, that means, thanks to Hawlucha's Fighting/Flying, Flying has now been paired with every Type...and is the only Type to do so.

All Water needs is Water/Fire i think and it'll accomplish that.
Flying being the first to have this happen is pretty non-surprising.

I like how all three have a consistent level of ornamentation to them, along with black as a major part of their design. Your point about its eyes finally put words to something I've felt since I first saw it. Its eyes have the same effect as a camera: unblinking, and you can imagine him slowly tracking things with his head (like a camera). Which feeds right into its theme as a monitor, an overseer.

Regarding Zygarde -- I adore his design. He looks primordial and otherworldly. The compound eyes made of geometric shapes... The radioactive color scheme... The radar-esque structures on his back... His pokedex says he monitors activity in the ecosystems above ground, which suggests to me he's more "good" than "evil."

Or perhaps "neutral" is the right word -- if Xerneas nurtures and Yvetal destroys, perhaps Zygarde is the arbiter that maintains harmony in balance. Not unlike Rayquaza's role in relation to Groudon and Kyogre.

At any rate, there's a beautiful symmetry and repetition of pattern to Zygarde's design, which along with the unique color scheme and alien face makes me really dig him. And apparently he's about as strong as vanilla Garchomp (and thus weaker than Mega Garchomp)? Maybe Zygarde will be permissible in OU and not relegated to Ubers...

This is probably my favorite batch of legendary mascots so far. They're all very well differentiated while still having easily identifiable core design elements that tie them together. They take a great deal after the weather trio, and for the better. I was pissed at first that there were only 3 regular legendaries, but if they can flesh these guys out more I'm set.

I just noticed that there's a sort of Action (Yveltal the destroyer), Reaction (Xerneas the protector) and Observer (Zygarde the watcher) triangle that goes with the three. It's probably going to be shattered depending on what they do with Zygarde, but as it stands it's a nice dynamic.

Zygarde is likely to be UU. It's got mostly defensive stats but it's weak to ice, dragon and fairy. Poor thing would get mauled in OU.

Those aren't nubs, they are scales, Tyrantrum has the exact same style of scales.

Oopsie. At least he has those tentacles towards the back!

Do you guys think they could make Gardevoir exclusively female by blocking the transfer of male Gardevoir through PokeBank?

Why would they do that? There is nothing wrong with male Gardevoir. I will be extremely pissed off if my male Gardevoir suddenly become female for no reason.

I still do not get the mentality of people that want Gardevoir to be solely female.

It could be for a number of reasons. Varying from aesthetics and preference that could lead into other societal issues too complicated for a pokemon hype thread, to.... wanting to F*** it.

On sites like 4 chan its usually the latter.

Why would they do that? There is nothing wrong with male Gardevoir.

Can gallade's only be male or if its both genders? I have forgotten.

Anyone else interesting in seeing Mega Kangaskhan? I really want to know more about the it's Parental Bond ability. Being able to attack twice per turn could end up being really broken.

They wouldn't do that.

Maybe changing the gender in the transfer, but not block. I doubt they'd just say fuck you to anyone who had a Male Gardevoir. What if it was shiny?
I like this idea better.
Why would they do that? Looks like you can catch ralts in the wild anyway.

They could, but it makes zero sense.

Wouldn't Ralts and Kirlia be in the Kalos dex anyway since that's before postgame?

Edit: Beaten 4 times.
They could evolve into Gallade.
Why would mega Gardevoir need to be female? Just because it looks feminine or masculine (Hi Machamp) does not mean it has to be female or male.
Machamp has a masculine sounding name anyways and it was introduced in gen 1. Though Venusaur did get gender differences.
I still do not get the mentality of people that want Gardevoir to be solely female.
Personally because of the existence of Gallade. Froslass too.

Gallades are male only. Similarly, Frosslass are female only but Glalie can be male or female. People don't seem to care about that though.

Man fuck design issues, just give me enough content that I'll still have stuff to do at level 70-80, and give some sort of difficulty slider so I can fight non idiot trainers.

We got a number of interesting type combinations this gen, including:

  • Fairy
  • Normal/Ground
  • Fire/Normal
  • Steel/Ghost
  • Dark/Psychic
  • Poison/Dragon
  • Electric/Normal
  • Rock/Dragon
  • Rock/Ice
  • Fighting/Flying
  • Electric/Fairy
  • Rock/Fairy
  • Fairy/Steel
  • Ghost/Grass
  • Normal/Fairy
  • Flying/Fairy
  • Water/Fairy
  • Psychic/Fairy
  • Ghost/Psychic

Of those, only steel/ghost, poison/dragon, electric/fairy, fairy/steel, ghost/grass, flying/fairy and water/fairy are useful combinations. Normal paired with anything but ghost is worthless not to mention uninteresting. The others have too many weaknesses to common types or lack useful resistances.

People complaining about Gardevoir's gender seem to forget that regardless of any changes to her gender ratio, males in the family will still look like this at one point.

Wonder if you can Skill Swap it; don't see why not.

Gallade can only be male, but I don't see people whining about how female Glalie exists when Snorunt has Froslass as a female-only evolution. It's obvious Garfevoir is singled out because people want to fuck it.

Edit: and then my entire point about Glalie was already used.

I hate that they got rid of the difficulty levels from B2W2, they should have just made them both available from the beginning on both versions.

It's not really attacking twice I think it just does double the damage of the chosen attack.

lol do people care that Mr. Mime can be female, or Machamp?
They don't.

As they don't care about Chesnaught having a masculine body shape and a beard. Delphox having a feminine design, though, is like the worst thing to ever happen in the franchise.

I didn't mind the feminine design, I was just kind of hoping for a more animilistic design and less of an anthropomorphic one.

Nah, Delphox looking like a digivolution of Renamon is more the thing why I think it is the worst design ever.

It does look more like a character, digimon or anything.

Gallade is male-only, which is a shame.

Ok that is my issue, like if you gonna make a boy only one , then make the other one girl only.

But if one can be both genders, why can I not have a female galade.

And the same thing about frosslass. Its just extra work for the guy who wants one.

Normal paired with anything but ghost is worthless not to mention uninteresting. The others have too many weaknesses to common types or lack useful resistances.

Normal's immunity to ghost just became more important due to steel losing it's resistances though. And it's a decent STAB for neutral coverage. Fire/Normal is the only (currently) type combination that resists fairy/ghost, for instance, and Normal/Ground hits most pokémon neutrally

What are the confirmed differences between X and Y besides a few different pokemon exclusives and megas? Was thinking of picking up both if the differences are significant enough (and I want both charizards/mewtwos damn it).

lol do people care that Mr. Mime can be female, or Machamp?

Mr. Mime being female isn't a problem since it's Japanese name is Barrierd, which is gender neutral.

It's obvious Garfevoir is singled out because people want to fuck it.

Ewww, clearly there're some member of the Pokémon fan base I need to avoid.

Masuda said they didn't want to do it.

Oh what, why? That was the best part of Black and White 2 had it not been version exclusive or locked until post game.

Game Freak can make stupid decision from time to time.

Whatever Delphox would have looked like, it would have been compared to Renamon and its Digivolved forms.

In any case, I think Delphox is (at least for the time being) hated for not having enough of a feminine design.

Because they.. well..

to be blunt, some do not like thought of someone wanting to F*** it. Which is odd because.. who the fuck cares.Enjoy your damn game.

I am sorry but you cannot compare Mega evolution to a traditional evolution as Mega evolution aren't new species, permanent or get counted in the Pokédex.

Hell Mega evolution aren't even really new Pokémon and are no different from form change.

I will never include mega evolution as part of the new Pokémon numbering.
Dismissing a Mega Evolution as a mere form change doesn't do it justice. They may not get their own Pokedex entries and numbers, but their power increases exponentially the same as any evolution, if not more so, since they're allegedly on par with legendary Pokémon. They're a whole new beast for their respective lines, mixing things up as much as any "normal" evolution would.

And the same thing about frosslass. Its just extra work for the guy who wants one.

Its because gallade and froslass was introduced a gen later and even had to use a stone to evolve them. Its more that gallade and froslass were an afterthought a gen later and they usually strictly avoid retconning evolutionary methods with the only exception I can think of so far being Milotic (and even then thats more of a here is this *other* way to evolve it using this new item) .

Most likely, aside from Multitype you can skill swap any ability.

If so that still doubles Kangaskhan's attack to 190, assuming it doesn't increase. Then there's the question of whether the little guy has his own stats.
I just said that because some people think it means they can use 2 different attacks that turn.
I don't think that baby has it's own stats.
