New Sword Art Online PS Vita Exclusive Game Coming Next Year, Gets First Trailer

Japan needs to stop using bloom (is that what it's called?) on every Vita game.

I'm VERY surprised that this is coming to the Vita. If this game turns out to be good, this would be huge to help give the Vita Vita.
It's going to be one of the best selling Vita games, but I think the audience is already there (hence why it's on Vita), it's not going to move hardware in my opinion.

Doesn't Toonami run like after midnight? :/

Yeah, because of the target demo. Which is great because everyone who really liked it is in their 20s/early 30s and in that time slot they can get away with as much as they could in '90s, if not more.

If the show is performing well, then yeah, I could see them actually considering it.

They're bringing over Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z on Vita, but it's a download exclusive in North America.

Are they? I haven't heard anything about that. Either way, SAO is nowhere near as popular as something like DBZ or One Piece. Namco Bandai wouldn't take a chance localizing something that would sell less than their flagship RPG series that has been requested from Vita fans since they came out.

Their flagship RPG series sells 70k on a platform with a considerably larger userbase than Vita's.

I know Tales isn't a huge seller, but there's no way they'd bother localizing a niche anime game that would sell even less than that.

My point was that NB probably looked at the numbers the PS3 games were pulling, and figured they'd only do considerably worse on a smaller userbase.

Which game are you talking about here?

Tales of Graces f. I believe Xillia did better, but I couldn't remember the number.

So anybody knows exactly where in the storyline this takes place exactly?

I mean I remember about that alternate timeline game where it diverged from the storyline with a what-if scenario. Is this another one of those? Or is it an untold story?

I found an English translated version of the trailer. This guy is pretty cool, he even has the subtitled cutscenes from the last game and he says he's going to do the same for this game with his Vita Capture card or w.e.

Apparently this game takes place right after the Infinity Moment, Kirito finds a Hollow Area in Aincrad, and in that area he finds a girl who just happens to look a bit like Alice from the Alicization novel arc, and they adventure together in the hollow zone.

Hope this comes over.

It seems like Namco Bandai has some hope for this series.

I mean the last game was on PSP, the next one is on Vita.

PS4 has a rumored VR gear being worked on, wonder if that's the next step for Project Sword Art.

Obviously we won't be running around in our houses, but just being able to look around at HQ textures in the "Sword Art World" would be amazing.

Luigi please:

[PSP] Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment - 182.697

Pretty sure that's actually the best selling PSP game of 2013, though Toukiden might be crawling up to it.

I think Toukiden sold that much in week 1 between PSP and Vita.

Well we did get Shion in Infinity Moment so I won't be surprised if the blond girl DOES turn out to be Alice.

Or maybe even that girl in Mother's Rosario or something..

Namco Bandai has never published a Bleach game. Sony had them on PlayStation, while SEGA had them on Nintendo.

But yeah, this game isn't getting localized.

Yeah, and I think in US, Sega held the rights but then NISA published so I don't even know anymore.

Those PSP bleach were the best bleach games. Too bad, they stopped making them.

I was sure they were published by Namco :( I stand corrected.

And I apologise to Namco for cursing you all these years.
