Yeah, it's pretty gross how Game Freak is giving preferential treatment to Pokémon that are already powerful. I will literally boycott the game if Mega Scizor exists but Mega Jynx does not.

Watch them secretly have megas for all current final evos and single stage pokemon (excluding legendaries). I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did have something similarly crazy

The lack of megaevolution pics is indicative of there being only 20 megas and not a single one more. Enjoy that grand total of 90 new pokemon this gen

I doubt they would, but the way the talked during the last Pokemon Direct made it seem like that is the ultimate goal for Mega Evolution in the future.

Yes, just ignore the fact that the leakers have made it clear that it is very hard to find mega stones.
Go away Negative Nancy.

Gonzo, you're my favorite Muppet, but surely you're not silly enough to think that such a boycott would accomplish anything other than depriving you of everything else X and Y have to offer.

I also hope Jynx gets a Mega Evolution, though.

Also, I wish the leakers would revisit the E4 to take pictures of these alleged Mega Evolutions. We have pictures of Mega Gyarados and Mega Gardevoir, now it's time for the others... if they exist.

Well, the TPCi president said something like "I can't wait to see mega evolutions of all Pokémon", so I think that is likely to happen.

I will totally enjoy having 450 Pokémon in XY, thank you.

Mega Evolutions for every single-stage Pokémon and fully evolved Pokémon may happen at some point, but surely not this generation.

Definitely. They need to have something to give us in the future generations, since I think (and hope) they aren't going to create a huge amount of Pokémon anymore.

Scizor is already the most used Pokémon in the OU tier, and now that Steel is super-effective against Fairy, giving Scizor a Mega Evolution is the last thing they should be doing. Masuda was so full of shit when he said "game balance" was one of the reasons why they created Mega Evolutions. It's all about merchandising and milking the already popular Pokémon.

plenty of not popular pokemon are getting mega evos

full disclosure - I dont care about the competitive scene (though I'm aware of the tiers and the meta). I just want whatever I think is cool or fun

and jynx is scary

So, how do we get megastones? I know some are handed down from NPCs. Are some buyable? Are they in a mining mini-game? Item boxes? What's the main form of obtaining mega stones?

Well, good luck having fun trying to take out all those Scizors!

Does Pokemon have a 'random draft' kind of mode where you're handed a random set of Pokemon and go wild? I'm never going to enjoy competitive play without something like that.

I remember it being a Pokemon people liked design wise during Gen I and Gen II. Sort of fell out of discussion when Gen III came along. Not sure if it's ever been popular competitively.

I want to say Scrappy would have given it a niche, but I couldn't say for certain. It's no slouch, just outclassed by just about everything else.

Who know's how popular a Mega Scizor would be competitively? It's going to depend on a lot of factors. He'll probably be a pretty big deal, but the fact is if people choose to use him they lock themselves out of using any other Megas on their team. I think the 1 per team mega limit makes building competitive teams really interesting this time around.

Stadium games had a mode like this called Challenge Cup, and Battle Factory is the closest equivalent in the main games, but that's about it.

I remember reading you could buy some of the Gen 1 megastones but they were sold for like 500k.

There was something called the challenge cup in Stadium 2 (which was essentially that) but for some reason it has neve rmade it into anything else (than I am aware of).

Ugh I can see it now, a whole load of people casting money up buffs on one person just so they can beat the Elite 4 seven times to rack up that cash...

It seems like it would be a really awesome feature. I really wish they had that for online. I wonder if it's something GF could add

Here's where the Hoenn rumor was coming from, not sure if this was posted already
