Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

please don't tease my heart like this :(

I want 2 regions dammit. We are at the time where the technology cam handle 2 or more regions. I'd do anything for that Pokemon rainbow rumor a while back to be true.

The last time we got 2 regions, 1 was a gimped rehash of the last game and the other one was way too small. I'm fine with GF giving all their resources to just 1 good region.

Seriously what is taking so long on Mega Evolution pictures? Like...even the stats of Mega Gengar and Mega Gyarados would be nice, and they already have those two!

I mean by popular opinion, X/Y is gimped (note: I don't think this), so people would be happy.

Then imagine what it'd be like if they stuck Unova, Sinnoh, Honen, or (god forbid) Kanto again? Multi-region games are just bound to be extra disappointing.

I also don't agree that X/Y is gimped.

Pretty sure those two were seen in battle, so they don't have access to stats yet.

Agreed. I know the 3DS hasn't been hacked yet, but they're taking forever to answer basic questions. Some people are claiming Mega Gengar is part Psychic now, while others say it keeps its typing.

A lot of these Mega pokemon have actually only been seen in NPC battles. The mega stones are apparently tricky to find.

Only problem was cart size (I think), Heart Gold pretty much made Kanto fully-fledged again.

EDIT: Woah you changed your post to something totally different! I'm not crazy guys I swear...

except that was due to the extremely limited technology at the time. The 3ds is obviously a much different situation.

Leakers just don't talk about the region/story.

For instance, there's this slow poster in /vp/ and he pretty much shows plenty of details in the game.

I honestly don't think visiting old regions or the idea of multi-region games is all that fun. The base pokemon gym-based formula just barely holds its fun through one main game. Once you get to a second time around in the same game, it loses its luster. I much rather have a robust end game (which it seems X/Y may sadly be missing).

We still have 29 holes to plug in the Regional Dex (3 of which may include Torchic, Combusken and Blaziken... but probably not).

Here's what isn't available in Pokemon X & Y as of right now...

....
Growlithe
....
Electabuzz
....

Wait what!? :(

When were Sneasel and Weavile confirmed?
They popped up during the latest Mountain Dex update.

090: Delibird
091: Sneasel
092: Weavile

093: Timburr
094: Gurdurr
095: Conkeldurr

So don't expect them until the late game I'd imagine.

Wait what!? :(
Still 29 slots that can be filled in the Regional Dex. Plenty of time for Growlithe and Electabuzz to show up... although, I'd say the odds are higher for Growlithe. The Electabuzz family needs a full 3 slots.

Space and development time are just as much of a factor now as they were back then.

well obviously, and they still have to remake the previous regions in 3 but just because 2 regions where made on extremely limited tech doesn't mean the same will happen now.

Hoenn remakes would be cool and it seems like we're being given more than a subtle hint that they may be coming. My hope is that they are as well done as previous gen remakes. Really think they will to make it more appealing for people to pay up for Bank. Would love to go through that game again and catch the Regis while still playing with all the quality of life changes we've had since gen 3. Almost feel like remakes would be something they'd churn out between X/Y and Z to make Z the final game of the generation.

I really don't get why people love dual regions so much. Kanto was terrible in GSC, a giant ghost town with tons of blocked off areas or areas that were completely inaccessible. Not to mention how Johto suffered a lot too.

They're not making the mandatory bird cool again right? Staraptor will be king forever.

They've always been really bad BST-wise(and movepool wise). Staraptor is the only one with viable stats and movepool.

The things that really interest me are movepool changes to old Pokemon and Base Stats of the new, but I'll be playing the game myself before anyone is even near finding those out.

None of that shit mattered to me at the age of 8. Was just an insanely cool concept. And Johto never really seemed that small to me. And there's no doubt none of those problems would be a thing if they did it nowadays.

& once again, they pretty much fixed Kanto for the remakes.

I know...how am I suppose to get my Electric Field + Motor Drive Electivire now?!
Wait until bank transfers open up at the end of the year.
OR... keep your fingers crossed that he's part of the 29 remaining Regional Dex slots that still need to be filled.

Never seemed small but it actually was. Even in HG/SS it's apparent Johto + Kanto (ignoring the post game extra content) aren't really much more than the regions from Gen 4 onward in terms of stuff in them

Not really. They didn't fix Kanto - just added missing stuff. It still was broken with terrible levels, poor distribution, and lacking any significance other than the last Rocket.

Screw you, Scyther, Electabuzz and Magmar fans! It's time for Pinsir to shine!

And yet, Sinnoh was a really boring region for me. I guess either of our points goes to say there won't be a dual-region game again. And it won't change the fact Gold/Silver are the GOAT...

Even when I was 10 I could see how bad Kanto was and how soulless it had become. I would much rather have them use all their time on creating a better region than trying create one more that likely won't be great thus hurting the final package.

But each to their own, I suppose :P

EDIT: Yes, I agree. After venturing through Kanto for the fourth time in four different games, I am quite sick of it as well :P

I don't like Sinnoh either. Probably one of my least favorite single regions.

Wasn't a massive fan of Unova either, but I felt much more entertained there than in Sinnoh.

We're going to need some decent Electric pokemon to use.

For the moment we have all of the useless Electric rodents, we have the Pikachu family, we have the Ampharos family, we have the Magnezone family, we have the Lanturn family, we have the Manectric family, we have Jolteon, we have Zapdos, we have Stunfisk and we have the new kid on the block (the Heliolisk family).

Is that enough? Hard to say.

Kanto is such a boring region, remake or not...

You were the guy saying you'd buy the Sinnoh remake 10 times... nobody likes your opinion :P

I'd only ventured through Kanto once when I'd first played...

Eh, the appeal for me as a kid and now is to return to the region and see how the gyms and such have changed. It really only works as a nostalgia thing.

Haha, no. The original Kanto is still the most replayable. Good selection, awesome pacing, no excessive dialogue, no routes that drag down.

Great...only Ampharos and Zapdos seem to have an actual movepool beyond T-Bolt, so this sucks. Oh well, I'll just give Gardevoir T-Bolt and ignore the Electric types.
