Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

Mega Aggron looks INCREDIBLE. I'm getting antsy wanting to see him in battle. Can one of our leakers who has beat the game try going to the Battle Frontier/Tower/Whatever? Try beating the elite trainers in the post-game and see if you get Mega Stones as a prize.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that Mega Evolutions + 69 new Pokemon + event legendaries would put us somewhere between Gen 2 and Gen 4, in terms of Pokemon number.

It's annoying that Mega Evolutions are getting counted towards the Pokémon number when they don't feel like new Pokémon.

How is it that Giratina Origin Forme doesn't count as a new Pokémon but Mega Charizard Y does?

Yeah, and Mega is one level above Ultimate.

Not if you for the Japanese it isn't. ;p

Why would GameFreak make a balloon of Tyranitar, and label it Tyranitar, but inexplicably give Tyranitar wings and new armor? And why would GameFreak make a balloon of Aggron, and label it Aggron, but give it new armor, wrist-blades, shoulder-blades, and a new helmet?

Because they knew this thread would exist on GAF and they want to laugh at us.

Why is that one school prank where you release three animals into the school and label them 1,2, and 4 popular?

Since the balloon changes to a random Pokemon every time the minigame is accessed, I supposed we'd eventually see Mega Jynx, Mega Pinsir, etc, if the leaker kept entering and exiting the minigame to cycle through the different balloons. Might take a while, though, since apparently even base-form Pokemon like Noivern's pre-evo can appear.

Guys, I found a pic of Mega Jynx!!

I mean, they're not the same as new Pokemon. But they are new, they do have different stats/abilities/types/designs. When you're starving, you'll call anything new :P

Aggron seriously needs a buff on those 4x weaknesses. One is bad enough, but two is terrible. Steel/Dragon is one way to fix it. Maybe an ability that allows only up to 2x damage. C'mon Aggron, you can do it!

Alternate forms usually shuffle the stats and sometimes don't even last the whole battle. Mega Pokemon transform the same turn they attack and stay transformed, and they also undergo a massive leap in stats, which along with their all-new design makes them tantamount to an actual evolution in every sense except 'dex entries. The only real downside to Mega Evolutions, IMO, is the fact you can only use one at a time. That's their primary disadvantage compared to a "normal" evolution.

I think MewTwo getting *two* Mega Forms is enough Mega Forms for legendaries, thanks.

Besides, Kyogre doesn't need to be a Mega, he's already great. Give it to Groudon, who has a blatant type disadvantage to its counterpart.

I agree, if GF was going to give a Mega form to one of them Groudon is more deserving obviously than Kyogre. I only said Kyogre because its one of my favorite legendaries.

Updating my Regional Dex predictions to account for the Mega Aggron balloon (sorry Clefairy fans).

My best guesses for the outstanding regional Pokedex slots...

Coastal Dex

19: Frillish OR Feebas
20: Jellicent OR Milotic

99: Tyrogue
100: Hitmonlee
101: Hitmonchan
102: Hitmontop

103: Castform

141: Dratini
142: Dragonair
143: Dragonite

146: Corsola OR Alomomola

149: Alomomola OR Corsola

Mountain Dex

14: Shuckle

68: Spiritomb

72: Bonsly
73: Sudowoodo

99: Aron
100: Lairon
101: Aggron

109: Joltik
110: Galvantula

129: Togepi
130: Togetic
131: Togekiss

134: Cottonee
135: Whimsicott

145: Articuno
146: Zapdos
147: Moltres

Torchic and other "event" pokemon releases will not have a slot in any Regional Dex. Only the National Dex.

Agreed. It's a shame that such an awesome looking pokemon sucks at everything. Can't wall, can't be an offensive powerhouse either. Also it requires ridiculous amount of exp to level up

Naaaah.
He should get 300 base defense and Steel/Dragon. The king must take his throne.

Hmm, I think it's clear that I am never going to be able to accept Mega evolution or Mega Pokémon so I am just going to drop my dislike for them and just enjoy the game.

Yes. Never let the bad parts get you down. If you focus on them too much it taints the rest of it for you.

I think that's a very good idea. You may even come to accept them once you play it.

Because apparently only Pokemon that are actually good are allowed to Mega Evolve
:\
Wait, were Mawile, Absol, Ampharos and Kagaskhan considered strong enough prior to their Mega Evolutions?

The Pokemon being prioritized for Mega Evolutions seem to fall into one of two camps:

1) A nostalgic, classic or well-loved Pokemon, which may very well be powerful already (I.E. Lucario, Blaziken, etc)

2) A weak Pokemon that hasn't been historically viable and has become overlooked (I.E. Mawile, Absol, Ampharos, etc)

For category #2, I'd -love- to see a Mega Luvdisc. I'm not even kidding. That Pokemon, of all Pokemon, just seems so inexplicably there. The same goes for Dunsparce and Qwilfish.

Do you think they should allow you use more than one Mega at a time?

If they made more of them, maybe in some sort of Megas-only battle. But if it was in every battle, than it would make you foolish for not using every Pokemon that doesn't have a Mega, because they get SUCH a boost.

Mega Spinda will RISE!

No. You can have your whole party holding stones if you want, but only one can transform per battle. That's a good thing. Entire parties doing mega evolutions in battle would be ridiculous.

What about two per battle?

What if the Megas weren't as strong as legendaries?

I think that as they add more Mega Evolutions in the future, they may allow for modes where each team is allowed X number of Mega Evolutions, and in that capacity you could use more than one.

For the main campaign, maybe they'd allow three Mega Evolutions in the League Champion battle, for example, which players would be smart to do since the League Champion would do the same.

But for the most part, in most situations, you'll be limited to one Mega Evolution activation per battle.
