Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza are NOT on the list. You're thinking of that crazy list that had X and Y versions of Entei, a list that has already been proven false since it didn't include Mega Gardevoir, among other Pokemon.

The list we're talking about is a smaller list of renewed trademarks from earlier this year. Every Mega Evolution revealed so far was on that list. What's left is the following:

Pinsir
Jynx
Scizor
Houndoom
Heracross
Medicham
Banette
Latios
Latias

Now, there may be more beyond that list. But those are what was listed in the trademark group.

So far only Venusaur has a Mega and is not on that list.

What horrors would the Mega Evolution of the best Rain abuser in Pokemon unleash upon the filthy plebians? Place your bets!

Drizzle is replaced by an ability that increases the strength of water type attacks and grants a swift swim boost regardless of weather condition.

I should be watching Football but I can't. Mesmerized by Mega Aggron and it's only a fucking balloon lol.
Speaking of football and Mega Aggron, he looks like a football player... if football players had bladed shoulder pads. Seriously, the guy looks like he could cleave through mountains with a shoulder tackle.

EDIT: I mean American football.

Charizard, Blastoise, Gengar, Kangaskhan, Pinsir, Jynx, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Mewtwo, Ampharos, Scizor, Houndoom, Tyranitar, Heracross, Gardevoir, Absol, Medicham, Banette, Latias, Latios, Aggron, Abomasnow

Trademark list.

I don't get all this backlash from mega evos. I really like them, both in design and concept. Maybe because I'm pretty satisfied with a lot of the new pokemon I don't feel like megas took any away. You guys can hate all you like, I like em.

Seriously, lack of MegaArcanine aside, this gen was made for me. I don't even have any of the bird trio currently, so them being the roamers works perfectly.

Yeah, I pretty much feel the same. It's an interesting way of changing things up either in visual design or actual usage and (for me) the large majority of megas have been really good.

Thanks for pointing that out. That means there's hope since the list, while apparently of Mega Evolutions, is not the complete list and there may be more Pokemon beyond it (as Venusaur proves).

Of these, I most want to see Mega Pinsir, Mega Jynx and Mega Heracross. They deserve it.

Real talk, most of the mega evolutions so far are way better than the pre evos and evos of past gen Pokemon that they did in the past.

Mega Jynx
+Sp Att
+Speed
Lovely Kiss then raise hell.

Mega Heracross and Mega Pinsir need to happen to make up for no Bugs. :(

Wait, were Mawile, Absol, Ampharos and Kagaskhan considered strong enough prior to their Mega Evolutions?

The Pokemon being prioritized for Mega Evolutions seem to fall into one of two camps:

1) A nostalgic, classic or well-loved Pokemon, which may very well be powerful already (I.E. Lucario, Blaziken, etc)

2) A weak Pokemon that hasn't been historically viable and has become overlooked (I.E. Mawile, Absol, Ampharos, etc)

For category #2, I'd -love- to see a Mega Luvdisc. I'm not even kidding. That Pokemon, of all Pokemon, just seems so inexplicably there. The same goes for Dunsparce and Qwilfish.

Where does Abomasnow fit into this?

Him and Snover are actually some of my favorite Gen IV Pokemon, and Mega Abomasnow is really neat...but he's not well-loved by any means nor that overlooked, he's just average.

Wrong (and I like Megas)

Baby pokemon can go poop themselves though. If megas mean we never see any again I will be very happy.

Since they're the only ones with snow warning, that may count for something I guess.

Why hasn't Yamask and Cofagrigus been confirmed for this game?? Egypt is on the same planet as France, so their presence should be guaranteed at this point!

I find it hard to believe that they would give a Mega Evolution to Tyranitar, the sand inducer, Abomasnow, the blizzard inducer...and then just ignore Ninetales/Politoed.

If that list is based off of popularity...

Jynx is popular?

I thought she was one of the Pokemon people pointed to as a bad design?

With how widely reviled the likes of magmortar, electivire, tangrowth, and licklicky were, it's understandable that he got carried away in dissing late-added evos.

A couple of those, togekiss especially, feel so old that I feel like they existed way sooner than they did.

I did say most. :P I keep bringing him up but lickilicky ruined one of my favourite Pokemon. :( Rhyhyperior too.

Honestly I don't see how Megas don't count as new pokemons. They're just new evolutions put in a different context.

Mega Evolutions are for popular Pokemon, OR for Pokemon who are underused. Hence why Mawile, Absol, etc, are receiving Mega Evolutions. No one uses them in competitive play, but with Mega Evolutions they will gain a second wind.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression Abomasnow is hardly used in competitive play due to his 4X fire weakness. A weakness his Mega retains, but with a massive stat boost to help weather enemy attacks.

Gen IV copped a lot of shit for bad evolutions...but even though there were a few bad ones (Lickilicky, Magmortar), there were several fantastic ones.

Is LickyLicky going to have to cut somebody?

No Froslass? :(

Baby Pokemon have potential if more of them were used like Wynaut. As it is they're just useless additions especially considering that you have to go out of your way to get most of them.

With how widely reviled the likes of magmortar, electivire, tangrowth, and licklicky were, it's understandable that he got carried away in dissing late-added evos.
Electivire's okay...

Was kind of hoping we'd get a Mega Snorlax based on the super old fan art of him with the sword and shield from back before Gold and Silver came out

Edit: also Mammoswine, love that guy.

No Froslass?

I forgot. Frosslass is infinitely better than Glalie

And frankly if they wanted to give them new moves that badly they could just skip the middleman and retcon the movesets or their egg moves to include what they wanted.

I like Togekiss one of my favourite pokemon to use in Soul Silver but honestly using it is like using a dragon or fighting pokemon in previous gens- a bitch move
