I predicted Sonic tomorrow for the image.
Also I would like to bring up that we are getting Wii Party U end of this month or Wii Sport Clubs next month so do anyone think we will get any reveal near to those day.

The new box art is way better.

Another simple one. The thing to note here is the blue streaks coming from Mario and Mega Man when knocked up by Sonic's up-air. That's new right?
I really like it a lot even now. Seeing all those characters in really exaggerated and stylized ways made the box a bit iconic for me.

Looks like one of the branch/pole things you can get Pikmin to bury out of the ground to reach a higher ledge in all three games, though I have no clue how they'd work something that specific into a stage gimmick. So what's up with that small tree thing on the Pikmin stage behind Luigi and Sonic? It looks like it's on the same plane as them, so it looks to be something you interact with. I haven't played Pikmin 3, is there any basis there for anything?
Somebody's probably going to come in and correct me but whatever; these two gifs make SSB4 look a lot faster paced than Brawl was. As long as Sakurai doesn't change his mind on tripping or introduce another blatantly dumb 'EVERYBODY WINS' mechanic that even annoys a more casual player like myself, I'm down.So I watched the little footage again to see what was interesting.

Simple one, but nice to see it done quickly.

what "everybody wins" mechanic?
I remember photoshopping this up back in the day to illustrate the same point:

I forgot how terrible the Smash 64 box was.
Okay, reposting the gif because I feel like this got unnoticed and buried.

My Theory: Going by what's been assumed about his moveset, the second time Mega Man jumps, he does a fullhop back air. At first I thought the move was designed to act like Marth's back air and make Mega Man face the other direction after using it. However, looking at it closely, it's actually animated to end with Mega Man facing the same direction he started like most moves in the game. The whole animation finishes while he's in the air, so Mega Man won't be under the effects of landing lag when he lands, meaning he can act immediately. He lands facing the right, but he's holding left on the analog stick. Because there's no landing lag, it looks fluid as he keeps his momentum to the left. What happens next is something that's similar to Pivot Walking in Brawl, where you maintain your momentum as you turn around (and depending on your character, you may even get a boost). Mega Man then dashes by releasing left and then smashing the stick (again, momentum in play here, so his walk animation never really starts) and then jumps.
And these caught my eye.

Mario slides very far here. Also, the colors change because I was trying to correct it since the first few frames are a bit dark due to it being the start of the trailer and being faded into. I don't recall it being that far in Brawl.

Now Sonic slides REALLY far. I don't recall it being that far from Brawl either, so I may be misremembering this.
Something still says that there is something connecting Kirby and Star Fox ... but it is prbably nothing =P
wavedash 2.0 lets goooooooooooo
Tripping isn't *exactly* this since it's way rarer and isn't nearly as game-breaking to the vast majority of Brawl's audience, but I'm referring to stuff in other multiplayer Nintendo franchises like the blue shells in Mario Kart or the dozens of different shitty traps in Mario Party. They give worse players a huge handicap at the cost of making the game a miserable experience for more skilled people.what "everybody wins" mechanic?
It's probably since they're both set in the future and (technically for F-Zero?) in space. F-Zero also has its fair share of 'anthro' characters as well, along with an obvious Fox McCloud facsimile as a racer...You should be looking more at Star Fox and F-Zero's connection. Both games referenced each other to the point they have characters based from the opposite franchise. I think they were made by the same people too? Not entirely sure.
Please keep fan boxarts out of here, they're very rarely any good. The new box art is way better.

Well, to be fair, this is the fastest character in Brawl we're talking about here.Somebody's probably going to come in and correct me but whatever; these two gifs make SSB4 look a lot faster paced than Brawl was. As long as Sakurai doesn't change his mind on tripping or introduce another blatantly dumb 'EVERYBODY WINS' mechanic that even annoys a more casual player like myself, I'm down.
Nice gifs. The one from Pikmin 3 looks incredible.

Sakurai at the time of Brawl's release vaguely described tripping as a mechanic for helping less-skilled players get an occasional leg up on competitive players, but him rather bluntly stating it's been scrapped for SSB4 when asked makes me feel he's aware Brawl went overboard in a few of those areas.

Fox and Falcon are also both bounty hunters, along with Samus. Dang man, just realized that as I typed it.
Awesome ! =D
You even got the "Mario kart" group !
Only needs the RPG group and the third party group.
MAYBE a "nes subgroup" with samus/ice climbers/pit/rob
Something still says that there is something connecting Kirby and Star Fox ... but it is prbably nothing =P
Every love of the N64 boxart receives my eternal love.
This style is the best rendition of most of the Nintendo stars, specialy Fox, Link and Mario
...which reminds me ....
Please die in a fire =D

I really don't like that they made Sonic a combo character. Even for combining you need the characters at a decent % for good knock back, and then you have the problem of almost all of his moves losing in matchups due to shitty priority. Basically if you're fighting anyone good, these combos are worthless.
lol The top one with Mario oddly does look more like a wave dash. How else would he randomly slide towards Mega Man :3
King k tool and eggman need to be in
BEAUTIFUL gifs, man. I love how this game is looking in motion, Now I can see it ending up faster than Brawl. And I also remember from awhile back that someone noticed and gif'd Mega Man also having an increase slide effect or momentum that carried from a prior move.
Edit: I found the post.
