While Espurr isnt that bad, worst design of this gen goes to Slurpuff. So ugly. Not even a mom could love it.

I've known plenty of people who've actually quit. Just none that were proclaiming it to people in real life or on the internet. Those people were just attention whores.
I really really have an urge to put off buying X/Y and waiting for the third version/direct sequels, but I just don't think I have it in me. I've never played any of the third version games and the improvements often talked about in them intrigue me. But I don't think I can hold off for 2 years in order to do it. I want a Goomy damnit!

I'd say play X/Y and skip the third gen. At least thats what i'm gonna do. Every third gen game i've received, I usually end up selling before getting that far/getting burned out since you usually spend like 300+ hrs overall on the first games.

No, I was thinking stereoscopic 3D... And I find the 3D on the system to be amazing. Rotation Battles are my favorite, so this is really disappointing news if I can't view them in 3D... :/

Yep. 3D is disabled for overworld and battles with more than 2 pokemon on screen. There's also apparently noticeable frame rate hitches even in the 1 v 1 battle when using 3D. Sounds like GF initially planned 3D everything, but had to go back and disable stuff when the ran into massive performance issues.

I still don't get to live my dream of arriving into battle on a sea of Dugtrio.
I knew about the overworld, but I assumed that all battles would be 3D... I can get over the overworld not being in 3D, but not all the battles? That's really crappy.
When games use it correctly, the 3D on the 3DS is great. Fire Emblem, Mario 3D Land, and Luigi's Mansion, for example, look pretty amazing in 3D. There's a lot of games that don't do near as good of a job, though.
Even when it doesn't give me a headache, I still don't bother because its never added anything notable for me. Its just annoying on it best day (and yes, I keep trying with new games because I want this stupid feature I paid for to convince me its not stupid).

Don't really care about the 3D.
I haven't had any issues with headaches or anything with any Nintendo game post-3D Land. I feel like that's where they really started getting it right. Oh well, differing opinions and all that.
Can't say I care either; unfortunate for those that do, I suppose, but I have used it cumulatively less than five minutes since I got my system.
With one of the games giving me headaches being Fire Emblem (one you mentioned), I think its safe to say it is just that.
