Same with me, except with Gen III and now I'm almost done with college. Man, that's crazy. I feel really old. I still have massive memories from Gen II and I as well.

Platinum came before HGSS
I've been playing Pokemon religiously since the originals first release. But there is something about Gen III that I absolutely love, and I don't know why? Maybe it's the pokemon designs, the evolution in game mechanics, the shiny hunting communities (that really weren't around much for G/S), etc.

there weren't really bullies in my school. Hell we played yu gi oh in my 7th grade English class and at lunch. Though I'm sure there were some, most people kind of just let you be, high school too.

I'd be completely behind that. I was skeptical at first but B2/W2 are my favorite games in the series now. On the other hand, Emerald fixed a lot of issues I had with R/S's world and plot, and Platinum was just a direct upgrade to D/P so I'm not sure I'd want them replaced entirely.

This totally for me. My fondest pokemon memories are from Gen III and Gen V(Specifically B2/W2). I've loved the other gens, but those the ones that resonate most with me.

Wow, the reviewers weren't joking about the intro being so brief.
Wait.......what is this? You can copy to a second card and still keep your save? It doesn't somehow lock you out like the BS the do with Animal Crossing? Not an ideal solution but a good way to have multiple playthroughs (though I'll be using the bank for that anyway)

Not sure all the tech-talk behind it but from what I understand, with the eShop DL 3DS games, you can ...
DL game with your reg SD card in place.
The save file goes to that SD card.
Take out SD card, replace it with another.
Redownload game.
New save file on that SD card.
Or something to that effect..
We shall see how it works with XY though.
Actually, I use to love Sonic on the Genesis, once he got to the DreamCast, I did not touch a single game until my pre-order of Lost Worlds. I can surely do the same for this series.
The only thing that can bring me back sooner is some permanent evolutions for Pokemon that need it. Other than that, it'll be a hard sell.
Ahhhh. So basically it allows you to run multiple copies of the same game rather than save backups. Cool, and not game breaking. That's nice.

WPM is right, if Hiro knew anything it's limited to "fairy". If he knew anything else he wouldn't be so shy about it.
Lets not forget, Hiro ALSO said/ confirmed that the starters were Grass Dark and water fighting. And that was, like, right before they were confirmed not to be.

Gen 1-4th grade. This is why I love the older stuff. Made life long friends in elementary school over pokemon. I love the new stuff too of course, but Arcanine, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasuar, and Mewtwo will always stand above the rest and why I like the direction of this generation.
But that's specifically me. If other people don't like it, I can get with that. But it's annoying when people on either side try to invalidate each other's opinions or speak like they know better. And I'll call him out, R0ckman is super guilty of this. We either have acknowledge that early designs were superior or we're wrong and don't know what we're talking about.
Either way, it'll be fun doing GAF tournaments and stuff in a couple weeks with you folks. Is there an FC exchange thread or is it in the OT?
