Just seems weird for people to worry about it, to me. Blaziken's Sugimori art has 0 fire in it, nor have any of its in-game animations (unless I'm mistaken).

GF is lazy ... and when I say lazy I mean LAZY. BUT if they think this feature is important enough to warrant animating all of these actions, reactions, emotions and emotion transitions for ALL Pokemon then you can be damn sure that they're gonna use that again.
Unlike with Pokemon Walking with you THIS likely took a team worth of animators to get going.

Blaziken's fists go on fire in its idle aniamtion in BW/BW2, as well as in the "animated" segment in Platinum.
I don't think anyone has reported Delphox's ears going in fire.

We'll see. I'd bet all my Starpieces and Gold Nuggets that it will be removed. It screams "superfluous feature". I know it's used for Sylveon, but alternatives can always be implemented.

Seems that you have a broken image. But I always liked Infernape the most out of the three Fire/Fighting starter evolutions (although I really like Blaziken and, after using Tepig in Black, am okay with Emboar). Maybe it's because Diamond is another Pokemon game that I went into blind (the other was Sapphire) and had all of the new Pokemon grow on me. Most Pokemon eventually do grow on me...is it weird that I like the first five generations of Pokemon almost equally?
...okay, almost. Hoenn's still my favorite region and, for some reason, I don't feel as enthusiatic about Kanto as others do, but I still like it!

Actually, you DO bring up a good point ... for it staying, that is.
If it's linked to evolving a eevee then there's no telling how many more Pokemon in the feature will use it. Maybe this is the new way to evolve Feebas for example or others that evolve from happiness.
Plus, it has fundamental changes to how the Pokemon preforms in battle.
It has a much greater effect on the series than just being a throw-a-way feature AND it took a ton of effort to get going.
We shall see but I think it's clearly here to stay. Like shiny Pokemon, breeding and double battles ... too much of an impact to toss aside.
Reading the starter arguments here, I just realized I still haven't decided on which starter I'd choose. Initially it was Fennekin, then I wanted Froakie but somehow ended up wanting Chespin too. If only I had the budget to get a second 3DS and a copy of X, I wouldn't be having trouble choosing since I'd just trade them lol

the least popular Kalos starter here now thanks to Delphox
You also get another Kalos starter after beating the game, I believe; you get the one weak to your starter. So if you like Froakie the most and like Fennekin too, you can get both in one game. Or if you choose Chespin, you get Froakie post-game. It's up to you.

I seriously am surprised at people being unable to get at least all starters, since it's a common trade request!
I remember when I used to have only one DS and no WiFi; PokeTransfer was my God during Generation IV.
But since I'm attending college with a bunch of other Pokemon fans (several are getting Y while I'm getting X), I'll be able to get most of the Pokeymans outside of those isolated to Generation V.
This will be my first pkmn game where I can easily use wifi to trade so I can't wait to see how it works out. I've done some trading in Black but man it is not easy since all I can really do is GTS Negotiations at this point of my play through to get interesting Pokémon. I somehow got a Dratini and Growlithe out of it though.

Never had problem asking for a trade online. Only tried asking in Gamefaqs, but I've gotten whatever I wanted/needed with little to no problems. GTS is shit though because of all these people asking for Level 9 legendaries which are impossible to get outside of a hack. Last time I did a trade on GTS was for a non-US Ditto which I luckily got a Japanese one who is simply asking for another Ditto.
What was the thing about getting Japanese Dittos again? I remember wanting one but can't remember why now

Afaik, its not specific for Japanese Dittos but rather Dittos that are not from your games region. Something about getting a higher chance of Shinies when breeding. Haven't gotten one though.
It doesn't have to be a ditto as long as the two pokemon are from two different reigons.

Trading with community is the best solution. Unless you have really shitty internet access that would probably screw your time with your trading partner.
