If any of you live in the Miami, FL area, the Gamestop at 57Ave near Flagler street, in a shopping center with a Publix and Burlington is having a midnight release. I preordered my game there yesterday. :)

Bring your dses also where gonna be doing pokemon battles as well. As well as giving out badges and free posters.

Wow, did not expect them to retcon pure Normals (aside from those that become dual types like Togepi) into pure Fairies. These are the same people who have inexplicably kept Nidorina and Nidoqueen infertile for years, after all.

would be lovely if someone can answer a few questions (don't wanna look around too much in here :S).

- hows battles with animation off. do enemies just flash when get hit like in the old games?
- hows mewtwo x stat wise?
- how many specific attack animations are there per pokemon? like would a mega punch be a punch and a megakick be a kick?
- hms still around? Do you still need a move deleter?
- whats the bottom screen used for in overworld? Can you have a map or shortcuts or something of use down there?

Whoa whoa whoa, there are people belittling Pokémon Amie? It's a brilliant feature. Forming a strong bond with your Pokémon has always been a theme in the series but until Pokémon Amie there were few ways to spend peaceful downtime with your Pokémon. Now you can pet them like a cat or dog, feed them and just be friends! Bringing in that Nintendogs element is a smart move by GameFreak that is thematically appropriate and a lot of fun. :)

I'm personally not excited for it but pokemon Amie seems infinitely better than the beauty contest type crap recent games had.

Will you? Will you really?

Delphox can use both Psychic and Flamethrower.
Greninja can use Ice beam, Extrasensory or Bounce.

Both are faster than him. Just choose Chespin, stick an Everstone on him and box him as soon as you can get Bulbasaur. Trust me on this ;).

you'd think they would learn by now that grass starters suck by virtue of being grass type

A screen of Phantom Force confirming that it is a weaker version of Shadow Force with 90 Base Power.

Finally a decent physical Ghost attack for Banette to learn. If they don't pull out a Flareon.

They where pretty fun in Emerald, they where like battles. Godawful in Platinum and I don't know if they where still in the other games.

The appeals portion evolved and lived on as Pokemon Musical in Black and White, but for the most part they got kicked to the curb.

Good riddance, I say.

RSE's contests were definitely the best "secondary mechanic" of the entire series. People under-rate just how fun they were. I seriously think that whole system could have been expanded and made a real front and centre thing, then DPPt ruined it and BW even more so.

Good, the dance part was the worse introduction to those contests. I remember breeding a Raichu specially for contest lol. I'll welcome them back in a Hoenn remake if they stay to the battle part.

Do you guys think a Guide will have a list of all the (non event) Mega evolutions and every move (including changes they made to old moves and what new moves old Pokemon can get)?

I play to buy a Guide and check if Banette get anything new. Fairy/Ghost typing, Prankster or other new abilities, new Physical moves, a Mega evolution or anything new that improves him in any way.

Wait, I had it backwards. Appeals got kicked to the curb, the dance lived on but didn't have contest stats tied to it anymore.

I'm gonna miss pokestar studios. Making movies was a fun time waster.

That was my favorite out of all the diversions they've introduced. God, that was amusing. Contests were always garbage, and I'm glad to see them fall by the wayside entirely.

No they weren't. It required strategy, was competitive and allowed more pokemon to be useful. Gen 3 contests were the best. I wish GF did more things like Gen 3 contests to help provide more content and increase the viability of more pokemon.

Any pics? I only saw the original and polar version.

Here. The white one hasn't been seen in-game yet.
Sorry I took a while, fell asleep.

Does anyone know if there is a way I can toggle the roller blades on and off. I know I can use the D pad to walk but I prefer the circle pad. The roller blades are hard to use in small confined areas like the maze bushes you find early on.

Fuck this shit. They made fairy a type of mediocre Pokemon retroactively.

Only redeeming Pokemon are Klefki, Xerneas, Carbink, and Togekiss if that rumor is true.

Eh, I'd rather have a flavor fairy retroactively added instead of keeping it as a normal type that nobody batted an eye at.

Is Banette part of the 450 in the regional Pokedexes?

I ask as the guides for past few versions have been a walkthrough first then a later release of a complete Pokedex (I'd imagine this is timed to the Banks release).

Japanese (and other non-English) guides may be different.

Oh I love the Vivillion colors, I might use one. I heard it's stats where like Venomoth.

Are you forgetting Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir punk? Psychic/Fairy is a sweet typing, she can tank those fighting moves and take a pounding all day.

Has anyone found out if hat is removable??? My purchase of this game depends on it...

But how is that possible then :

It's already confirmed that what you see is your friends and streetpassed 3DSes.

From my understanding its been changed since. Must of run into a glitch they couldn't fix or didn't have time to.

All the leaks said you couldn't, at least. I won't go declaring it to be the case, but thats what I've seen in the leaks.

I'm pretty sure the leaked trademark list (which has been 100% accurate so far) would indicate a banette mega evolution.

Also, do Venusaur and Blastoise also get game specific Mega Evolutions like Charizard? Or only Charizard? How hard is it to obtain the mega evolution stones? I would like to know how hard it would be to trade with someone to get the opposite game's mega evolution stones.

So far only Charizard and Mewtwo are confirmed to be game specific with their Mega evolutions.
