Seeing stuff like Yveltal makes me wonder, how in the hell did humans end up at the top of the food chain with nothing interesting about them whatsoever besides technology? (I mean, I know the tech in the poke universe is worlds better than ours, but cmon.)

I mean, if the pokemon wanted, couldn't they just kinda annihilate all of humanity with their vastly superior abilities, speed, maneuverability, and intelligence?

Also if you have some psychic pokemon like Alakazam who are fucking geniuses, why haven't they gone ahead and figured out some way to completely counter humanity's only weapon against pokemon, the pokeball?

Just my $.02.

Peaceful by nature?

Think I finally picked out my team:

Greninja - Water/Dark
Charizard X - Fire/Dragon(Flying)
Pangoro - Fighting/Dark
Tyrantrum - Rock/Dragon
Trevenant - Grass/Ghost
Avalugg - Ice

Might switch out Avalugg for Aegislash so I have a Steel/Ghost to counter Fairy Types.

That's a Babel tower problem. Each pokemon can only speak its name; so that kinds of slow them down in their world domination plot.

That my friend, should left up Pokemon-related serious fictio to take as theme.
I want write one but I guess they are not interested with it.
Dengeki Pikachu is closest we ever got. It touch the things a little bit on a story about oversized, or now we could called it Mega Haunter that is very strong and worshipped as god. Ash and co. nearly managed to captured it, only for the Haunter to kill itself in retaliation because it doesn't want to bow down to human.

A little bit of advice is to not to mixed up story/lore element with gameplay. You don't want your head exploded with that.
Full circle eh?
Same as Yin and Yang.
The battle between Law and Chaos never end eh?
Friendship
Nailed it.

REVISED UNOBTAINABLE POKÉMON LIST for Pokémon X & Y

This is intended to be a guideline for people to follow that are getting back into the franchise, want to "catch 'em all" but aren't sure where to look. Only established typings are stated here - so any likely yet unconfirmed transitions to the new Fairy type for Clefable, Blissey, Lickilicky and others are not reflected here.

With 18 slots still remaining to be filled in the Kalos Regional Dex this list will still be whittled down a bit, BUT I've taken the liberty of highlighting the guys I expect to fill those slots in bold. And only the top level of the evolutionary ladder is called out here for the sake of being concise.

So if you're playing through past gen titles, you'll know who you need to collect and who you can ignore. (Unless you want to exploit the RNG for stats, in which case, your list is MUCH larger.)

Apart from Dex completion, some of the obvious names that stand out as prime Bank Transfer targets are Metagross, Arcanine, a potential Fairy/Flying Togekiss, Forretress (for competitive play), Archeops and Volcarona. Along with any others that get to join in on some of these crazy new Gen 6 abilities.

And Whimsicott because it's going to look so darn adorable in Pokémon Amie mode.

Let me know if I goofed anywhere above or if any added detail would be beneficial. Thanks!

I Reeeeeally hope my shopto copy arrives in a few hours (6am here in the UK). Got the dispatch notice yesterday and traditionally shopto are awesome with delivery.

I'm a little late to the party, but is there a way to transfer Pokemon from SoulSilver to Black/White (2) and then to X and Y? And is it simple?

I played SoulSilver, but that's been it since Gen 2, I didn't play any others, just wondering if there's a way to transfer some of mine over. Thanks

If the Ruby and Sapphire remakes are still a part of Gen 6 (most likely) then you can transfer Pokemon from the original Ruby and Sapphire all the way up to the remakes, 10+ years later. Neato.

You'd have to play through all of Black and White in order to unlock the PokeTransfer lab, and then you can transfer them from that game to Gen 6 with the Bank in December.

I still have my team from Ruby kicking around. I hope they build in something special to signify that those monsters are OG Hoenn.

Soul Silver (gen 4) can be traded up to gen 5 after you beat the E4. I am not up to date on the exact method of transferring to gen 6 but I can tell you it is possible and involves the "pokebank"

Thanks for the quick reply, I assume this works with Pearl/Diamond/Platinum as well?

Yup. Anything from Gen 4 except the Spikey Eared Pichu can be transferred. They can't be holding items or know HM moves, but that's easily taken care of. I have Pokemon from every game Ruby-Black 2 in my boxes waiting for December to transfer up once again.

Well, you get an NPC in pretty much every Pokemon game these days that mentions that the world is so advanced due to Pokemon. So I assume that Pokemon and humans worked together and the humans got the drop on them, somehow. I mean, if friendship were the answer, why would Pokemon be resigned to Pokeballs? You have to wonder how THAT started.

So, now that we know the majority of the new roster, what are people's plans for their dream team? Cross-gen, etc. allowed.

I'd say mine would end up being something along the lines of Greninja / Togekiss / Scizor or Ferrothorn (rotation) / Hydreigon / Gallade / Chandelure. Chandelure could get replaced by Rotom-H or Heliolisk, but their stats are pretty meh, from the looks of it. Or Volcarona, but I dunno how competitively viable he is.

Volcarona is crazy-good, so you don't have to worry about it not being viable unless your team as a whole is awful.

I'm bringing back Rain Dance. Auto-weather getting nerfed means that braindead Sand teams will lower in frequency because now they have to employ strategy.

Pokemon = Babylonians confirmed?

Whoa, wait, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald transfers? This is possible?

I try to make my team Gen Vi exclusive. Probably my team will be consisted of Chesnaught, Fiarrow, Aurros, that fire lion Pokemon (forgive me), Doublade (damn forget the final evo name), and that grass/fairy Pokemon (too lazy to google, yes blame me). I'll probably would replace someone for a mega Pokemon slot though if there are any Pokemon to my liking.

This is pretty much exactly what I'm going to do this weekend.

Going to figure out a second playthrough team for when I eventually get Y.

Going to figure out a team I may make for fooling around with competitive play.

Either way I'm probably going to have Gengar on both.

Wait, we can't get Dragonite AT ALL? Not even by evolving a Dratini / Dragonair?

Elite 4 theme.

It's a lot better then the Gym Leader theme, but it has nothing on the BW1/2 E4 theme.
I barely peek in here now that story spoilers are out, but I totally forgot to check for music. So this... this is nice...

Now to fight the urge not to listen to everything else >.>

But, can someone just tell me one thing: Can Yveltal be caught in X? And Xerneas in Y?
