Ofcourse there had to be a cannon down there.

Dragonite is assumed to be part of the final 18 regional Dex slots so don't panic too much guys.
He's been featured heavily in demos. As has Sudowoodo.
Those are veritable locks but are still included in the unobtainable list (albeit bolded) as we still lack Regional Dex listings for them.

I'm assuming the other trios are the Dusknoir line and the Glalie / Froslass line due to the fact that they're the only two remaining past-gen Pokemon to have been snubbed in Gen 5.

The unobtainable list is sweet. Thanks for putting that together!

Hopefully I'll be able to track down the non legendary pokemon on the list between Fire Red/Sapphire/Pearl/Black/Black 2.

Apologies if I missed this information already. What are the confirmed differences between X and Y? Trying to determine which one I want. I have both on order, but I'll be giving one to my brother.

Wasn't Sudowoodo seen in a horde of Trevenant?
He was indeed. Still need confirmed Regional Dex listings for him and Bonsly, though.

I'm dead certain on 11 of those 18 outstanding Regional Dex Pokemon being the following: Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite, Bonsly/Sudowoodo, Duskull/Dusclops/Dusknoir, Snorunt/Glalie/Froslass.
The other 7 I'm making best guesses based on information we have available and immediate type proximity around the remaining open slots.

Just go by the legendary you prefer. You can always trade for version exclusives.

Oh I understand now.

HEY!!

Do all you cool espurr's remember waaaay the heck back in January when these titles were first announced and they seemed so infinitely far off into the future?

We are less than 48 hours away from launch. That is nutso

I was thinking of going X for this reason (and Mega Charizard). There was some rumbling online about the "tone" of the games being slightly different to match with the legendaries. I took that to mean the story would be slightly different (like Ruby and Sapphire).

Who else finds the X/Y OT dreadfully boring? I'm sure I'd be eating it all up if I hadn't read every single post in this leak thread, but as it is, it feels the exact same as reading pre-release X/Y posts from four months ago.

Didn't go there yet. But it is bound to be boring for someone that got everything spoiled already.I'll go there while playing the game; it'll be more fun and interesting.

Wings are based on game region it seems according to /vp/ research

We know so far:
>It's based on your 3DS country
3DS from Spain + Pokemon X bought in Austria = Marine
You can't change your 3DS region once you started the game

>When you get Scatterbug from another region it will evolve into the pattern from that region
3DS from Germany + Scatterbug from Portugal = Marine
3DS from Portugal + Scatterbug from Germany = Continental

>When you breed them, either the male or your 3DS region assign the pattern
Male (Continental) + Female (Marine) + 3DS from Germany = Continental

They were assigned based on climates, ecosystems or something like that

Usually when a new pokemon releases my family(Wife, Bro-in-law, cousin-in-law, me) get two copies of each game. Beat it at random times, I'm always first, as I believe in the choose water starter... use only water starter for entire game strategy. Worked since red and blue(Yellow excepted, that was Nido) and has always been easy.

When we finish we play against each other a lot! But we usually set ground rules. Easiest is no legends and no pseudo legends. We EV train and would breed to IV's (We suck at rng abuse)

My pride pokemon is a perfect Shiny Shuckle... the only shiny I have ever hatched.

That said, my favorite pokemon(Not following above statements) are, in no particular order:

Metagross
Jirachi
Lucario
Scizor
Ferrothorn
(I can't think of a 6th. But based on the previous 5, I'm sure he is steel.)

The hype is setting in. I haven't bought a Pokemon game at launch since Pokemon Gold/Silver, but I just hit up a pre-order on Amazon. I even bought the guide because pokemon guides seem to be the only ones of any use, really.

So, now that we know the majority of the new roster, what are people's plans for their dream team? Cross-gen, etc. allowed.

I'd say mine would end up being something along the lines of Greninja / Togekiss / Scizor or Ferrothorn (rotation) / Hydreigon / Gallade / Chandelure. Chandelure could get replaced by Rotom-H or Heliolisk, but their stats are pretty meh, from the looks of it. Or Volcarona, but I dunno how competitively viable he is.

Every gen since 4, I've always had a team picture done. This time around I have 5 Pokemon I want to use for sure.

Pikachu, Togekiss, Lucario, Reuniclus and Samurott.

I was hoping Chespin's final would be my sixth creature since I like creatures with quills in real life but I'm not that happy with it. Typhlosion is more of a badger too.

Slyveon is the only 6th gen that catches my attention but I don't know if having 2 Fairy types is a good idea. I might just go with Glaceon as my 6th to have a different type.

There should be more of that stuff imo. Efforts should be made to make pokemons of the same species look more unique. Using location and color pattern is an easy but nice way to do it for a start.

Hard to believe we will be playing it in 48 hours.

Has there been any information on how Super Training works in relation to EVs? At what point of the game does Super Training unlock?

What's wrong with it? I think it is a pretty ingenious concept, given how much of a cornerstone evolution is in the franchise

What's wrong is that you can't chose your pattern. I think it is cool to have different pokemon "skins" as long as all of them can be found in every game - or some forms are X/Y exclusive. But a region exclusive is quite unfair.

OK; for us we probably would be able to trade with gaffers from all around the world. But what about children? They obviously won't have contacts in other regions and wouldn't be able to communicate in a foreign language to trade even if they wanted to.

There is still the GTS.

You're gonna hate the new Pokédex then.
