What the hell is this about? 500+MB bigger, $2.50 more expensive...for what?

Sudoku is a "Stream Monster"-ish / meme-y way of saying "Seppuku". It actually happens a lot...

Well, with the amount of GAFers who are english as a second language, it's hard to be sure. ;)

Did you notice any real framerate dips in your time with Malicious Rebirth?
Or is it pretty consistently 30fps?

The game feels like it's running in slow motion half the time. You can see the second fight in my video of it for example.

FFX/X-2 dated, priced and detailed.

There's a Vita twin pack with both games priced the same as the PS3 version. Nice one S-E, you did the right thing.
I'll be curious to see if they do the same in the West. The Twin Pack boxart looks great.
ahhhh finally beat rayman origins. phew.

is legends as good? similar length?
Congrats!
It's not as lengthty as Origins and is quite short but I enjoyed most of what I was playing while it lasted.

The AR hockey game starring Hatsune Miku that nobody asked for.

I didn't think they liked hockey in Japan.
Edit: OHHHHHH! It's AIR HOCKEY...that's why I was confused.

Legends is the better game. Rayman Origins was already pretty damn good but they somehow managed to make the whole thing better with Legends. The main set o levels is probably a little shorter but then you have all the extra stuff from Origins and you have the daily/weekly challenges. Oh and don't forget all that other stuff we're supposed to get patched.

I also prefer the art style in Legends.

The overall game seems smoother than the PS3 one to me, with the cut in "too far away to do anything" enemies being the biggest reason. New stages that have more numbers have less geometry mid-stage, or spread out the packs to more areas, so it stays much more consistent.

When it does slow, it has some minor slowdown, but no sudden, jarring choppiness. I found it much more optimized.

Doesn't feel half as bad as the original PSN one in this regard, though. Speeding around and pelting enemies to whittle the numbers felt much smoother, and the more concentrated groups kept most battles less taxing on the framerate.

Quoting myself from the other thread for those interested:

There are also Play Arts figures for Tidus and Yuna, and clear file sets for both games’ main visuals. View the full set of goodies here.

Release dates for North America and Europe have not yet been announced.

So Last Mission and Eternal Calm officially confirmed.

FFX-X2 HD news is cool. Hoping we get a physical release. Also, Dragon's Crown getting crossplay patched in is awesome (it should have been there from day 1 IMO).

From what I've seen and heard about Malicious Rebirth, I think I'll get it. Not right away- maybe before the end of October, or I may just wait for a sale.

Offering a double pack for the same price as the PS3 version killed your enthusiasm?
Most of us were expecting the Vita tax to be $80 for the bundle if each title came in at $40.

They already mentioned way before that X & X-2 on Vita won't cost more than X/X-2 on PS3.

And I have no plans to play FF X-2 and that's why I specifically said FF-X. I am one of those guys who believes that X-2 shouldn't have existed. It doesn't help that I have also played Last Mission back then.

For a game that's only pull for me is that "it has HQ models" and "playable on Vita", the price is too high at 4000 yen. The game will probably be cheaper in English-speaking market, but by the time that happens, I'd probably have no time for it.

Disgaea 4 Returns by January.
:P

For best Vita OST?
I'd say Gravity Rush is my favorite. Soul Sacrifice is also good, and WipEout and Killzone are good as well with more 'modern' music (they both mostly have electronic tracks).

Say VitaGAF, what Vita games do you think have fantastic music/OST?

Hotline Miami, Lumines, Sound Shapes, Rayman Origins, Thomas Was Alone, Guacamelee, Rocketbirds, Motorstorm RC, Gravity Rush, Retro City Rampage, Street Fighter X Tekken, Dragon's Crown.

I haven't spent any time with Soul Sacrifice to cosign it. I really need to.

The 4gamer article is google translatable I guess:

There's an extra special package with the Vita 2000 limited edition and both games.

I preordered the LE Vita set. Too bad I won't even be in Japan when it's released.

The SE store campaign is pretty laughable. If you spend over 7500 before x/x-2 comes out you get a half-off coupon for the PC version of FFVIII that comes out this winter.

In a perfect world, buying a bundle of something should entitle you to being able to download the items in the bundle separately.

I'm looking at you, MGS HD.

Say VitaGAF, what Vita games do you think have fantastic music/OST?
Persona 4 Golden, Spelunky, Gravity Rush.
Motorstorm RC and Hustle Kings have good to listen to stuff. Motorstorm has bass pumping bliss. And Hustle Kings has the best jazz outside of Watercolors.

My wife got me this for my birthday today. I turn 40 on the 29th but she let me have it early.

She paid $169 so it was a hell of a deal nonetheless. hehe Anyhoo...I'll have to snag a PSN card because I want to get in on that Dragon's Crown sale.

So how does this PS+ stuff work? Weekly updates? I didn't miss the free Hotline Miami did I?

Welcome! If you are in US, they update whenever they want.

Play Gravity Rush! Great game, amazing OST.

Say VitaGAF, what Vita games do you think have fantastic music/OST?

My favorite so far is P4G, but Gravity Rush had a reaaally good soundtrak that fitted perfectly in the situations.

Soul Sacrifice has some good tracks, but I've only played the demo, so I can't speak a lot about it.

That FFX pricing killed any enthusiasm I have to get the game. I'll pass.

:/

KH 1.5 HD was like 7.000 yens to, and was released in the West for 40€. So I think we can expect a similar treatment with this collection.

Probably like 40 euros both together, 25 euros each in Vita. Though they'll probably just release it bundled or separately, but not both in physichal.

Say VitaGAF, what Vita games do you think have fantastic music/OST?

Seconding Gravity Rush, Lumines, Sound Shapes, Persona 4 Golden, Hotline Miami, Soul Sacrifice and Wipeout 2048.

But add to that: Project Diva f, the Atelier games and of course Dynasty Warriors Next. \m/

My vote for worst soundtrack goes to Disgaea 3. It sounds like an orchestra on a meth binge.

VitaGAF, do you guys think Sony will announce Vita Holiday bundles soon/at all?

I was hoping for a Vita & Killzone Mercenary Bundle, and then I'd pick up a 32 MB card and PS+ sub.

Hmmm... I feel like they're waiting until closer to black friday before they announce any bundles (if there even are any). Not sure though... In the past they've announced these types of bundles at E3, but sometimes they also announce them towards the end of October/beginning of November.

Man those SSD screens look AMAZING! I hope they are not bullshots and the final game is really native res!
...
Too bad i don't like the genre lol ... :(
