Yes, I was wondering if you were planning on evolving that Chespin? You'll get Fight coverage with the 2nd evolution.
That said, I'd rather have a Water pokemon than a Grass type, personally, since most of them can learn Ice type moves and you already got Water effectiveness covered with Helioptile.

Of course. It would be silly if I didn't. It's been a tradition for me to use the Grass Starters ever since I started with Pokemon Gold back in 2000. Of course, I'm going to be flexible and change my party members if they aren't working for me, or if I find another Pokemon that can complement this team.

This is intended to be a guideline for people to follow that are getting back into the franchise, want to "catch 'em all" but aren't sure where to look. Only established typings are stated here - so any likely yet unconfirmed transitions to the new Fairy type for Clefable, Blissey and others are not reflected here.
This list is now complete and finalized so you can now plot out your teams including prior gen Pokemon accordingly. Feel free to stick these into the OT or save them as a handy resource until Serebii throws there's up later in the weekend. And only the top level of the evolutionary ladder is called out here for the sake of being concise.
So if you're playing through past gen titles, you'll know who you need to collect and who you can ignore. (Unless you want to exploit the RNG for stats, in which case, your list is MUCH larger.) Collect the guys on the list below because this is who you're going to want to have prepped when Poke Transfers go live in December.
Bear in mind that if you own only a copy of X or Y, you'll still be able to trade for the game-exclusive unobtainables with a friend or via GTS. But everything in the 7 lists above will need to wait for the Pokemon Bank transfer tool to open. That also includes any obtainable Pokemon from your past games that aren't in these lists. You've got to wait the 10+ weeks for those.

I think someone was attributing a comment about Togepi to Kanpachi and were effectively putting words in his mouth. The actual comment was never copied over to other forums like his other leaks were. In other words, the leaker didn't lie... someone else lied about the information he was passing along.

Hey Joe... are you basing those Clefairy and Togepi retypings on what you've encountered directly in the game (i.e. non-Kalos pokemon are accessible despite not appearing in any Regional Dex) or are you just relaying what you've heard elsewhere?

So how many of you are thinking we know of all Mega Evolutions at this point? It has been, what... three days since Aggron and Tyranitar? Surely if there were more people would have discovered them by now.
Also that item that neutralizes the base stats of a Pokemon sounds SO GOOD. FINALLY I can eventually train my starter competitively, assuming I go for the right nature.

I'm assuming it's in the Friend Safari, though I have yet to get a Fairy-type friend to test it
