Hyper Light Drifter [Kickstarter = Funded] Wii-U Stretch at 550K, Ends Oct 12

Completely ignored this project this past month.
Finally decided to open thread.
Saw cool art work and design.
Watched trailer....
Backed immediately.

Good luck, boys.

Is the choice of platform right after the Kickstarter ends, or closer to actual release? I only ask because I have no idea if I'll own a Vita or not when this actually releases. :P I'm on the $10 tier for PC, but I'm a portable gamer at heart and I feel like this would sing on a Vita or 3DS.

AFAIK, 10$ pledge will net you the PC version (Be it Windows, Mac or Linux). 15$ will net you the Vita/PS4 and Wii U (If it reaches it's goal) version.

Holy shit

They won't ask until they're ready to dish out codes. You have plenty of time.

Does Paypal go towards stretch goals? Is there any way to tell how much they've gotten in funds in addition to the Kickstarter? I'm thinking of backing, but I need to know it's closing on the Wii U stretch goal...

It does. For some reason, they don't currently have it up on the Kickstarter page though.

I saw an article about this game on The Verge and I immediately backed it.

I've never put down so much money for a game ($120) before, let alone an unreleased one, but I have a really good feeling about it.

Only $23K+ left to unlock the WiiU version! Also, looking forward to the alternate Drifter and $600K stretch goal reveal.

I'm going to wait on the art books and soundtracks until they're actually produced, but I definitely feel like the art assets to this project will be stunning if their illustrations so far are anything to go by.

Here's hoping for a store of goodies to support the release and studio to come.

I was simply just sold on their character design and artwork more than anything, really.

That said, I'm happy to have been able to grab one of their prints before they sold out.

Just woke up and its at $549,834 with 45 hrs to go yet still. Seems it's safe for those who backed for a Wii U version to celebrate now.

The Wii U stretch goal has probably been reached for a little while now since the totals on the KS page don't include the Paypal Payments. With the project this big now, I expect the Paypal amount to be around $5,000. So today, we will get to see the Alternate Drifter and the announcement of the $600k stretch goal.

Glad this game got funded. Looks awesome. Amazing that they hit the $550,000 goal and there will officially be a Wii U version. Congrats to them.

Glad I went with 75 for the alt drifter. Will probably hold some kind of special Modbot deal with the other two keys or find a friend or two who wants the game but are too cheap to spend 10 bucks.

Think I might go in for $20. Is the only way to get the OST at the $40 level?

You can select any pledge level you want, then go in and modify the dollar amount by one of the amounts below to get that specific reward. They ask that you mention which addon you are expecting when they send the backer survey out around delivery time.

Add-Ons
I'll be posting a graphic on the front page to show just what things can be added to your current tier if you so desire, but let's do a quick run-down:

Add $5 - Digital OST for the game
Add $15 - Additional Copy of the Game for any platform
Add $30 - Limited run t-shirt (no international yet)
Add $35 - SNES style physical box and manual (no international yet)
Add $42 - Limited Compact Print (11x14) (no international yet)
Add $60 - Printed Softcover Companion Art Book (no international yet)

$40 is the best value.

  • Two copies of the game (Wii U/Steam represent!)
  • Digital art book
  • OST
  • Beta access
  • Name in credits
  • Golden Sprite and secondary weapon
  • HD wallpapers
  • PDF instruction booklet

So good!
