Those two on the right look oddly friendly.

In Japan?
Well, I think the series has been re-released in Mexico.
Bow to the true Queen.
She deserved more screen time.
S > Stars > Supers = Classic > R, with the understanding that Supers has higher highs and lower lows than the last two.Well okay, I can accept that.
How would you rank the seasons?
S > Stars > Supers = Classic > R, with the understanding that Supers has higher highs and lower lows than the last two.
S was when the show was firing on all cylinders, providing more energy in character interaction and more ambition overall. It's also the most Ikuhara of the five. Furthermore, if you're too blind to accept all the good Chibiusa moments in S, then really you should stop clinging to your impressions found elsewhere.
Not really. Stars gave the Starlights the treatment the Outers got in S. One in each ep to compliment some combination of Inners, except you have Minako rising in prominence and Makoto declining.
Classic > R > Stars > S > Super S
Stars is pretty much S redux, but that's not a bad thing as it also means strong single episodes. However, while the ending is grand and all, it's way too drawn out. Had it been tightened up by an episode or two it would have been much better.Mine is S, Class, R, SuperS, Stars. But I enjoy all of them for what they are worth. The finale to S1 and S5 always get to me.
Classic is weighed down by a bunch of lackluster Jadeite and Kunzite episodes
Kunzite himself was fine, and had some great moments, but I dunno, his episodes are a step down from Zoicite's. Then again, I'm one to flip that rivalry relation too as Classic with Zoicite is better than Classic without.Jadeite was lame, but liked Kunzite. Nephrite was best general, and the rivalry with Zoicite made it most interesting.
I go S > Stars > R > Classic> Live Action > Watching Paint Dry > Super S
S was fantastic on a rewatch, such great comedy execution.
I also liked the four generals for the most part, Nephrite was definitely the highlight.
If comedic execution is a highlight, why scorn Supers? Go back and watch episodes directed by Ikuhara, Satou, and Igarashi and tell me it's worse than watching paint dry!I go S > Stars > R > Classic> Live Action > Watching Paint Dry > Super S

The Sailor Moon anime has ALWAYS been self-aware. For example, Ikuhara made it clear from episode 6 how Usagi bullshits her entrance speeches. Also, I loved how self-aware Stars was to the point of parody. That's why Takeuchi was notorious for disliking it, I bet.
Chibiusa blows. Mars also sucks.
What's so bad about Mars?
Surely with all this new merchandise they will put the original series out on Blu-ray, right?
Makoto isn't kansai. And you people are crazy, Jupiter is the best. Kansai and updos for the fucking win.
Makoto isn't kansai.
If you want a high-tier magical girl who is pure, unadulterated kansai, there's really only one:She isn't? Well to be fair, it's been about 17 years since I've watched Sailor Moon in Japanese.

Classic is weighed down by a bunch of lackluster Jadeite and Kunzite episodes, and ignores Minako while making Artemis an annoying exposition box. However it has the most iconic developments, so it definitely ranks higher than R which is about in the same episode quality range, although R has better stock and music. Like I said before, Supers just varies wildly between amazing or horrible depending on the specific episode, although usually it's Ikuhara and Satou providing the good stuff.
She's a bitch, she doesn't even have a dere dere side... it's just tsun tsun.
Makoto isn't kansai.
Actually, it's the stuff after that that kind of wears on me.That's what I dont like about Stars, everytime I watch it I just feel like I'm better off watching S again. As for the ending, yeah, the whole Uranus/Neptune vs Galaxia thing felt like filler.
Kansai dialect and accent is the major divergent form of speech from standard Japanese. Kansai is Osaka/Kyoto while standard is Tokyo, kind of like how standard American English is largely midwest. Most of the time in anime you just see it as slapping "ya" onto everything, but occasionally you actually get a full rendition.dere dere? tsun tsun? kansai? Whaaaaaaaaaat?

It's definitely a more relaxed and colloquial mode of speaking. Most american publishers who are in charge of doing english voice acting equate it as a southern accent, even though that's not really right. I think the best example of translating a Kansai dialect was in Persona 4 Arena, with Labrys having a Jersey/Rhode Island accent.
On many occasions in the anime it's shown that when it really comes down to it, Rei cares more deeply for Usagi than the rest. To say she's full-tsun is to ignore the facts. She's a bitch, she doesn't even have a dere dere side... it's just tsun tsun.

She's still a bitch.
I wondered how long it would take until someone posted that.
Man, I still really want a high quality version of that. And the full pilot. I need to see that thing before I die.

That sounds refreshing in the context of modern anime. She's a bitch, she doesn't even have a dere dere side... it's just tsun tsun.
