her combos just didn't do it for me, at all
that doesn't mean she's a terrible character
i wouldn't recommend sorc personally. absolutely bored me to tears that I had to change class or I never would have touched the game again
frost thought it was fine
If you're #TEAMSORCERESS here's a few friendly hints... some of these apply to the wizard as well or generally across all characters:
(1) If you want to level up quicker to get more skill points (across all classes):
o Invest in "Money is Power" general skill every time you can, you can respect later with an amnesia potion.
o Go back and do the sidequests, every sidequest from the Adventurer's Guild gives skill points like leveling up.
o Never leave town without a prayer activated. Mostly use the one that modifies your score at the end of a stage.
(2) With the sorceress (and wizard), here are some general tips:
o Invest in the general skill that gives you additional equipment slots ASAP. Every slot is another spell you can take or another weapon you can carry with you to improve your versatility.
o Speaking of weapons, if you can spare a spot, it never hurts to have a fire weapon as an additional equip if your main weapon isn't fire based. Especially helpful when you take on ghosts.
o Buy the flying/levitation skill and level it up every chance you get. As an untold bonus to the skill, you get a +xx% damage while you're in the air. Sure you'll be jumping and gliding a lot, but you'll be doing a ton of damage. Combine with a lighting staff and jump and hold O. Then double jump and hold O. Then hit jump to glide and hit O. It helps a lot (this also implies you should know about the jump+O command for lightning staff being an AoE attack).
o Buy all the bags you can as soon as they unlock. You don't have to leave the store... just buy the bag, back out to main shop menu, go into buy items again, buy next bag, repeat. Now you can just start rotating equipment down the bags until you have 9 full setups.
o When designing bag contents and assigning extra slots, think about how you're fighting and where you will be prompted to switch bags. You may need a fire staff to deal with ghosts and the like but then an ice staff to deal with demons or dragons, etc.
If I think of any more I'll post em up later.
My only issue after playing a sorc for 25h+ (and being the only char I've taken over lv3 so far) is that whenever I play other characters, I find myself standing still and holding square for no good reason. A lot.
Not really a fan of all the mana recharging, but I'm having fun nonetheless.
They needed to balance the damage you can loose on enemies with Wizard/Sorceress.
The best recommendations with them in terms of this are the following:
(1) Up your recharge speed whenever you can
(2) Up your kill gives MP and magic shot gives MP skills as much as possible
(3) Find staffs that (a) don't require increased MP usage for increased damage (b) have a chance of costing 0 MP per cast, etc.
Using this, you can do a great job of regenerating MP and cutting down on charge time... I think I lessened my dependence on them as I hit the 90s, but they were crucial to making things work as I played through all 3 difficulties with a sorceress. When you can, get behind a boss, tap [] a bunch, then dodge and cast. It makes the mid-battle charging much less of an issue.
Otherwise, you just just charge as you walk between battles.
But I do know the feeling. I found myself doing it all the time with the Dwarf and Fighter as I played them after getting my sorceress to her 80s/90s. :lol
