Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Any impressions of Dark Quest on PSM?

I bought it, i'm disappointed, wait i'm not saying it's a bad game, but i was expecting a rouguelike with loots, instead the game has no loots, you have three characters(fighter best for attack, dwarf strong in defense, mage for long range magic attacks), the game is turn based, there are secret passages, traps, buttons.
In the city, between a dungeon and another, you can buy some potions, abilities/magic, and some equipments, but those are just bonus you can use one or few more times, they are not real equipments.
Imo it's overpriced, it's not a bad game but it's really basic, maybe the best definition of it it's digital table game, like a digital hero quest for example, and maybe a digital hero quest is exactly what developers wanted to do.
I really like some of the sound effects lol.

EDIT:
Top of the page:
Buy valhalla knight 3 if you are in the usa(trololol), buy dragon's crown if in eu(and vk3 next week trololol).

Yesterday i went to the japanese store and i was disappointed because the only new demos since the last time are ragnarok odissey ace and the beta test for destiny of spirits.

I don't want to be the devil's advocate but the ragnarok odissey ace demo made me think, it doesn't looks bad imo(way better than on screens), but people say it looks like a psp game, people say that valhalla knights 3 look like a psp game too, but then people look to ys and say it looks awesome. i dunno.

This is ys

and this is vk3

to me this(remember custom characters + custom equipments)

doesn't look worse than these

vk3 has an ugly style? Ok, but if vk3 has psp graphics ys has n64 graphics...
Ys seems to be very blurring and low res too.

Ys has some very good looking city shots but it seems to me that both ys and vk3 are affected by double standards or blinding excess/lack of hype or something similar.

Cheers for the impressions, 2+2. Will mull it over.
No problem :)

If you have more things you want video of just let me know.

Played a few more hours last night before bed. Played some Hotline Miami, Uncharted, Lumines, Resident Evil 2, Spelunky, and EDF 2017. Since people are still asking here are some bullet points on the PS Vita PCH-2000:

 • Speakers are louder by about 25% (as shown in 4th video)
 • Headphone output is louder/more powerful by 25%
 • The screen looks much better in person than on a camera
 • Colors are still very vibrant (see video 4)
 • It fits well in old cases since it has the same width
 • Wifi seems better and FASTER (see video 4)
 • 64GB card isn't faster
 • The new cases for the Vita kind of suck. (Video 1 and 3)
 • Brightness is more than bright enough
 • I have no problem retiring my OLED
 • Overall it is a beautiful console with a lot of improvements. I will not be missing the OLED.

Here are the other 3 unboxing and hands on videos I did if you missed them:

OK, so I've seen those two sales in PSN EU. (Halloween and Cross-buy Sale

I think I may buy Hotline Miami and Siren: Blood Curse. It's 10 euros, so it won't hurt that much.
I'll buy guacamelee, sound shapes and obscure the aftermath.
Adding vk3 next week i need to buy 50€ and 20€ in psn cards :\

And the backlog continues to grow...

Finished Limbo again. <3 that game.

Tempted to pick up Superfrog at the sale price, but I really should avoid buying anything else until I've picked up DC and KZ.

VK3 has some of the most unintentionally scary character designs I've seen in any game, so there's that.
She's staring into my soul...

Unintentionally? I dunno, the game setting is a prison city(think of a sort of medieval arkham city), do you expect cute people there or assassins, thieves and other scary people?

Arkham City's character designs were actually good though. The ones in VK3 just give me an "uncanny valley" vibe.

Don't make me be the devil's advocate, but you are comparing an AAA ps3 western game inspired to a successful comic to a mid level japanese vita game.

Personally I think she gives off more of an "I am going to murder you" vibe.
This too.

Those character designs are pretty bad even compared to other mid-level Japanese Vita games. Honestly, I can't think of another Vita game that has worse-looking characters than VK3 .

Man - since complications with the old Vita have left me Vitaless I'm thinking of jumping on that Argos deal and trading in Killzone...

That argos deal is amazing. Man I really should have returned the cod bundle earlier, might not have enough to pick up this deal. I want a fresh oled vita in storage too. Just in case.

So looks like they stealth released muramasa rebirth as it's up on the store now along with a really crap looking free to play game called crazy market

If you have more things you want video of just let me know.

Apologies if you've already answered this but is the screen darker than the OLED when on the lowest setting?

One problem I have with the OLED is that the screen is still too bright even on the lowest setting in a pitch black room.

Complete store update is up in the EU. Why the fuck does this piece of shit Fifa 14 still has the top spot on the recent tab? Nice of Sony to advertise this ripoff from EA.

So much new stuff on the PSN store.
A F2P game named Crazy Market from The Game Atelier (Flying Hamster, Sunflower), a freedigital artbook for Killzone: Mercenary and a WRC4 Demo are stuff I didn't know about next to Angry Birds Trilogy and Muramasa Rebirth.

It seems the store team fucked up the Star Wars Pinball upload as it is available on the store 4 times, of which 2 versions are free.

LIKE A BOSS!

Thanks again man! Sooo tempted to retire my OLED one too, but waiting for a NA announcement.

Dragon's Crown got my attention.

Hahaha, well, I haven't seen any invites from you on that either! :P

I'd like to get it, but I've always been waiting for a nice deal first. It's not something I really want to spend £25 on.

Shame EU hasn't seen a deal on it yet...

I could plat Muramasa but MGR:R is so frustrating, mission 18 or whatever kills me and after 20 times losing every week I just gave up.

Muramasa is exploitable if you have whetstones and just spam sword abilities.

Ok, that's good to know when I feel like going back and trying -- I got so burned out on the game doing all the other stuff that it's just sitting on my card waiting for me to go back someday. Luckily it's under 500mb.

And MGR:R VR 18 took me a bit... but I loved the challenge -- the catch was always just that damn round with the wolf. I could get there every time, but the key was taking out that wolf quickly. After that, you can just take your time on the heavies. Round 4 is a joke and round 5 has one of those mechs you can just stunlock.

Watching you with them makes me almost want one... except I wonder if it will feel too small because I have no cramping problems whatsoever with my OLED Vita. Also, looking at the other review that was linked where the gamer chooses to keep his OLED Vita and get rid of the LCD Vita, I need to see the color differences in person before I can make a decision ultimately.

Thanks for putting that stuff together though. :)

Well this just made me purchase one from nippon yasan and at £161 with a case and fastest shipping to the UK I consider it a bargain :-) hope I like that LCD!!!

I swear, Sony's ported more of their Vita exclusives to PS3/PS4 than third parties have. smh

Anyways:

J-Stars Victory Vs. release date has been set for March 19th in Japan. Rukia from Bleach, and Robin from One Piece have joined the roster. There's also two other girls, but I don't know which series they're from, or their names.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z has been dated for January 23rd in the region, though the blogger reporting that only listed the PS3 and 360 versions ...

J-Stars Victory VS will launch in Japan on March 19 for 7,980 yen on PlayStation 3 and 6,980 yen on PS Vita, this week’s Jump reveals.

A limited edition will be available for 10,980 yen on PlayStation 3 and 9,980 yen on PS Vita.

The magazine also confirms four new characters. Joining the playable roster in J-Stars is One Piece‘s Boa Hancock. Joining the support roster are Nisekoi‘s Chitoge Kirisaki, To Love-ru‘s Lala Satarin Deviluke, and Bleach‘s Rukia Kuchiki.

I hope Journey is on its way to PS4/Vita too and is also cross-buy.
Man - since complications with the old Vita have left me Vitaless I'm thinking of jumping on that Argos deal and trading in Killzone...
£140 for dat OLED Vita, 8GB card, Killzone + Virtua Tennis? Definitely worth it. I guess Killzone would have decent trade-in value still. Trade it in for Dragon's Crown!

From EU PlayStation Blog, hmmm.

@Chris
In September you answered to a question if Resistance Burning Sky, Hotline Miami or Guacamelee would be in the IGC soon, that one of them would come indeed.

So with this sale now, could you tell us which one? I know that it isn’t Resistance BS.
Nothing more annoying than purchasing the game now, in knowledge that there is a 50% chance that it’ll be in the IGC just afterwards.

Both those two have a good chance of being in Plus soon ;)

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013...-cross-buy-titles-this-week-2/#comment-432941

Further down someone asked if Hotline Miami was going on PS+ soon and Chris said 'Not this year'. I guess it could go on PS+ when Hotline Miami 2 comes out.

I read that somewhere DBZ: BoZ will be digital only in west. I'm not sure though but whatever namco. I can import for physical if I wanted this game though

A friend of mine follows the manga with the blond girl. Is one of those crappy tsunderes from a comedy manga.

I still want some Nurarihyon no Mago characters. It's one of the last mangas I read, like a year ago. Drawing is really amazing and the story was very enjoyable. Sadly, its end was a little rushed. Still, I doubt anybody here has read it, it never was that popular to begin with.

Edit: One comment in Gematsu has written the name of the girl with pink hair. The series is fap material, it seems.

Killzone is £21 trade in at CEX or Game if you price match. Might whack the 20 quid onto my gift card for the ps4

I bet that Resistance Burning Sky is going to be one of the free Vita games and I'll play it
just for the easy trophies

Yeah, you can get almost every trophy in a single play through. The only two that I had to out effort into was the sole online multiplayer trophy and the "kill x amount of enemies" trophy, had to reload a chapter after finishing the game for that one.

This too.

Those character designs are pretty bad even compared to other mid-level Japanese Vita games. Honestly, I can't think of another Vita game that has worse-looking characters than VK3 .

I don't thinks so honestly, japanese games are full of bad design, especially recently when every game seems to be forced to have busty moe girls or students or busty moe student girls.

I find it's serious/scary/western etc design more appealing than those, i mean look at this trio again
1372014451_8789735507_6ee424bb20_o.jpg

there's this serious/menacing little girl that seems to me to be their boss, the giant dude has a simply awesome scary face and look at the expression of the other girl lol!

But i guess we won't agree anyway.

So I have heard and hey, I don't mind playing a game that is free just for that

Okay, I finally gotta ask this. I have had Hustle Kings on my Vita since launch but how can I download the PS3 version?

I tried once but it didn't work, and I have the same PSN on both platforms.

What about flower, dead nation, wipeout hd/fury, gow collection etc?
You always look only at the bad side of things, what about the ps3 games that came to vita?
Sony is trying to push all its platforms in a cheap way, yeah i would prefer less games but exclusive to many multis/ports no one asked for, i'm the first to complain about flower, dead nation and gow collection on vita, but saying that vita is only losing games it's not true.
Honestly with those 4 games the ps4 is gaining that much? Ps3 and vita are losing that much? I don't think so.

I swear that girl is going to be in my nightmares for at least a week.
If a menacing girl will give you nightmares then she has a good design lol
