UK GAF: PS Vita, KZ: Mercs, VT4 and 8gb Mem card - £139.99

I'll be assuming it's all good. Got mine reserved and basically had to bargain with my wife - both giving her my soul, and my second ball to go with the first one in her handbag.

Oh Jesus.

Using a Vita for the first time reminds me of using a Plasma tv for the first time, our DS screens are weeping tears of envy.

I can finally drag some of these Vita games off of our PS3!

Fuck it, at that price I can't resist, reserved. Anyone recommend a good case? Gotta protect the bugger while on the move.

Had mine since day one without a case and it's a okay. Had it in coat pockets with keys, backpacks etc etc (I am careless is the point I'm trying to get across!)

Not the advice you were after but it's a study thing that's for damn sure.

I just realised that if I trade-in my Launch Wifi Vita, 8gb card and 40GB spare PS3 (I hardly use it) then I can pretty much get this deal without parting with any money. I'll have 2 extra games, same card and a fresh 3G Vita for free.

What makes me want to do it even more is I made a little scratch in my Vita screen when cleaning it in the Summer.

Do I do it GAF?

Heh, I remember that feeling.

"Is this thing on?"

"Oh, shit! look at those black levels! THE COLOURS!".

Do I do it GAF?
That sounds exactly like something I'd do. You probably shouldn't do it for that reason alone.

Edit:
I'm on the fence...but do they ship to Italy? at what price? do you know?
I don't want to create an account just to double check this :\
I'm afraid not chap. I'd offer to help but I've got it all on for the next couple of weeks :(

Don't bother. Deals like this are for people that are on the fence. People that don't like the library aren't on the fence.

Not at all friend, glad to hear it's a sturdy beast. I can be forgetful when I put things in pockets and then complain when things like my phone get marked, why I put screen protectors and covers on everything. I guess queuing up all those PS Vita games on my PS+ account every month on the off chance of buying a Vita one day has paid off, instant library time :-)

damn brits

the cheapest I can find in Norway atm is ~£180, no games, no card :(

No prob! I'll try to register and double check (hopefully, considering how short I am in money and time up to now, I'll be able to resist until early next year for even better offer ;p )

im considering this.

i will also get 15% cashback from using my halifax card so it a pretty good deal. the question is are there any games i want to play.

If I could be bothered I would've edited in RESERVED at the end.

I know how you feel tbh. This is the first time this has ever happened to us. It's usually the Americans with the great deals!

I've just reserved one. Ehhh!! Going to pick it up in an hour or so, excitement! What is the PS Store like for indie games/prices?

Sounds like ill be double dipping a bit with my Steam library. Will I be shafted because i don't own a PS3 and wont be getting a PS4 for at least 6 months after release?

Not at all, you can still log in to the web store and purchase the PS3/PS4 games that are free for PS+ members and add them to your download list.

My local Tesco Extra has a Vita + 8GB card and 8 game voucher (Gran Turismo, WipEout Pulse, Modnation Racers: Road Trip, Everybody’s Golf, MotorStorm RC, Top Darts, Table top tank, & Table mini golf) for £140. It was in a special offer section of the store near their Hudl tablet not the games section.

There's also a 3g vita on their website with a 8GB card and 10 game voucher but that keeps selling out http://www.tesco.com/direct/sony-psvita-3g-and-wifi-console/215-4537.prd?skuId=215-4537&fromRV=true

It's actually better value to get the Argos one and buy that 8GB with 10 games separately.

Yeah superb black and colour level aside, it's the motion on the screen which is reminding us most of plasma. Or more specifically going from a laggy led tv with 300 some lines of motion resolution to a low lag new plasma with 1080 lines of motion resolution.

Stuff looks amazing on Vita when static, but omg, when things move, it's a different experience.

And to think we were waiting on the LCD Vita before deciding which to get. Tempted to go buy another Vita today at this price.

I remember I used to read that Plasma sucked compared to LCD. Was that just successful propaganda?

Went up today to pick it up instead of waiting. Had a bit of an 'interesting' time trying to get it. Virtua Tennis was coming up on the system that it couldnt be sold, a bit like it was before its release date. So the manager rang around seeing if he could sell it or not. Overheard him on the phone saying that they had 6 in stock and 5 of them were reserved, so if you want in on this deal then get on now, if it's not already too late.

Also the cashier kept saying 'Vista' after each product, ending with 'and the Vista itself'. Made me giggle.

Not sure about older Plasma as we've only had 2 sets over 3 years.

But our Plasmas are fairly amazing, colours, blacks motion and lag.the one draw back is anything left on the screen for long than 2-3 minutes will leave a very very faint ghost image, this is called image retention. In this regard I can never in good conscience recommend them for any serious/hardcore gamer or any gamer that games for long periods of time. For movies it is the best experience possible.

I game on last years highend Panasonic Plasma and the wife games on this years w805 Sony LED, the sony is amazing for motion too and I believe better for the lag, but if I ever want to game competitively nothing beats a decent mid range monitor.

Other downsides of plasma is the energy used, these sets are like old school CRT's for heat generated, modern LED's you wouldn't know they were on half the time.

So in conclusion, nothing is perfect, they're all good at most things and great at one thing.

This Vita screen is very reminiscent of plasma for me, right down to very gentle image retention (never using the vita browser again, ever). But the benefits of the OLED just like those of Plasma are easily outweighing the drawbacks.

I bought the 10 game pack a few days ago. Haven't really downloaded the free games, but did download Ninja Gaiden and MGS HD from my PSN Plus account. Also bought Hotline Miami today.

Technically, it's such a neat little system. However, Nintendo just announced the Zelda/3DS XL bundle yesterday, and I almost regret my purchase as now I don't have the money for the Nintendo bundle.

As great as some of the games are for the Vita, the Vita doesn't have the likes of Zelda or Mario Kart for it. Which is a shame. Still, I'm not bitter...

Just got back with mine. The lady at the till was going through all the prices individually...£139.99 for the Vita, £29.99 for Killzone, £9.99 for Virtua Tennis, £14.99 for an 8GB memory card...that will be..£139.99 in total.

she seemed a bit shocked.

its a nice bit of kit, dinner first and then time to play!

Oh man this is a great price, I'd totally jump on it if I didn't already have the £430 PS4 bundle pre ordered. Buying both within a 2 month period would be just excessive
right?

Same thing happened to me, took about 5 minutes of them messing with the 'master till' to get it to work. Oh and my cashier lady didn't even want to attempt to pronounce 'Vita' so she missed the word out in all the descriptions :D

Been playing Killzone for the last hour, no regrets, that game is damn impressive!

Trying to transfer about 8 PS+ games over from the PS3 but it seems to be taking forever, should it take this long, it's not USB1 is it?

Yep, went to pick mine up after work and couldn't, as there were problems with Virtua Tennis. Was told it's an 'online only' deal, but the people behind the till didn't seem to know what was going on.

I'll try again tomorrow, haha.

Pro tips:
Make sure you reserve the items in one lot online. The bundle will then come to £139.99.

Take either a print out of the reservation which has the price on it, or show them the full email on your phone with the price on it. That way the cashier/manager can validate the reserved price.

Finally the deal is new, so if any problems persist, there'll be leaflets with the deal on in the stand with flyers on the shop floor. Show them that.

If it still won't go through, ask them to extend the reservation, and come back in a day or two once the systems will be updated to let the deal through.

Alas I can't afford this, and I'm more in the market for a 3DS first.

If it wasn't for all of the awesome 3DS games coming out right now I would jump on this. Enjoy, folks who get this deal.

That's wrong, you can get a vita + 4gb memory & a physical copy of littlebigplanet or sly for 1600NOK at GameStop. They sell used ones without memory cards for 1300 NOK, and you get a game for 100 NOK when you buy it.

Oh my god! Im posting from my shiny new Vita! Playee about 30 mins of Killzone, great stuff. I'm also downloading Katamari and SFvsTekken on Plus which is pretty darn sweet.

Im thinking an 8gb card might not cut it for the long term though.
