There's a new rumor now that the 16GB nexus 5 will start at $400... They claim they'll release a LTE version of nexus 4 for $300 and have the nexus 5 start at $400. That's such an awful idea that I'm assuming it's complete crap.

I don't see Google doing that.

Ok, so if I do buy the Nexus 5, I have to buy a sim from tmobile then? How long does it usually take to get it?

I ordered one yesterday, and it said it should be here before the weekend is out. Buy the sim card now since it is only $1. Free shipping to boot.

You can just walk into a store and walk with one within 5 minutes if they aren't too busy (for the sim card). The wait to see someone at the store is likely to be longer. Some stores might even give it out for free.

One other question: Is the sim card the same whether I choose the $30 prepaid or the $70 unlimited 4g plan? In other words, just the plan is different, right?

Yeah, I have no tmobile stores that close which is why I ordered one, otherwise I would probably just walk in.

Yeah, AFAIK they're all the same for T-mobile. If you're not already a customer you might need an activation kit though? I'm not sure.

We talked about this a few pages back. You can pick up T-Mobile activation kits now for $1.05 shipped.

Yeah, it is all the same. But once you go from $30 to $70 plan, I don't think you could downgrade back to $30. At least that is what the tmo employee told me.

No 8gb model?

People would bitch. And they started moving away from 8gb models. See: N7 refresh.

No... Why would their be?

The stuff I saw online said it's for chromecast and Nexus 7. I really really doubt they would sell it in best buy.

Read a couple rumors mentioning the N5, with no real explanation. Wouldn't surprise me either way.

I was considering the G2, but am a bit worried about custom rom support. I really want the Google experience.

Use the code OCTSIM at the check out. I didn't see it on their site anymore, so the deal might be dead.

It should still be good. I went through a website with the deal and it popped up on T-Mobile's website, it just said use the coupon at checkout.

Most of us are ordering two sims, a Micro and a Nano because we don't know which one the phone is going to use.

I can confirm that the code still works. I purchased a nano and a micro like the rest of you to cover my bases. it only cost $2.16 total for both.

Where'd the nano SIM BS come from? It uses a micro SIM. The slot in the FCC internal pictures looked like a micro SIM slot, and the service manual says micro SIM. Ignore the red circle. The SIM slot is to the right of it.

If you do a google search, there is a shit ton of articles saying one or the other.

October release is expected. Anything and everything is just speculation at this point.

well we are 17th of october and still not even a news about an events for google.

i just bought iphone 5s. but still i want to know what google will offer in kitkat ^_^

I hate this, I wanted to not be excited for this thing at all, and now uncontrollably, I'm getting excited :(

Going to hold off for an OLED Nexus. I might be waiting a while.

What in the world would make you think we'd get an OLED Nexus? Are you waiting for an OLED Nexus 5 or an OLED Nexus in general?

I guess it depends on what you're comparing.. I thought the 5S processor was a beast.

I think the 5s graphics are better, but I think the cpu and ram are much better on the N4.

I don't game on my mobile however so I guess I overlooked that lol.

I dunno, I made the highly irrational jump from LG making flexible OLED panels now, to wishing it to be in the N5.

I really wish I didn't make that jump, but man I want it :D

I would love for that. I love the OLED on my Galaxy S3. Ever since I got it, I haven't seen many screens I've liked better. But if this screen sounds like it'll be good. I just love the color that OLEDs bring.

Are activation kits included with the sim? Or are they separate?

Ah, no 8GB is pretty much dead now. It's way too small to offer.

Well the newest OLED panel in the Note 3 is beyond sick. Apparently with automatic brightness, it can out-do LCD in direct sunlight. (not something I admittedly care about, but it used to be considered a weakness) The tech is maturing nicely.

I wouldn't expect anything huge in KitKat. There will be a lot of polish and some "nice-to-have" features, but nothing revolutionary. Most of Android's core apps are now updated via the store, so the in-your-face progress happens much quicker and throughout the year. In fact, the launcher, the last bastion of the core apps, will become divorced from the OS updates.

The other guys only update their stuff once a year, so their OS updates feel artificially bigger.

Pretty much this.

Damn was excited for this phone until I realized it had a 2300mAh battery. What happened to the 3xxxmAh rumor? After a history of my Nexus phones having shitty battery, I'm gonna have to pass this time.

I think the new android OS handles battery much better unless I'm mistaken?

When these launch they're only available through Google play? I have a lot of Amazon credit I'd love to use, it might be the only way for me to afford it actually.
