New Ryse: Son of Rome story trailer [new footage]

Yea, you're right, there are some great games that utilize QTEs out there. I didn't really mean to make that my focus point. It was really about the visuals. I've been reading around that the gameplay is apparently shit for this game, however, I can't really say if it is or isn't because I haven't tried the game out myself. But I wouldn't have posted anything if comments here were more like "wow, looks amazing, I hope the gameplay is awesome too." If we turn into consumers that will buy a game just because it's pretty, but gameplay is subpar, then we'll send the wrong message to developers. Just my two cents.

Look again. The number of posts is VERY high of people saying.
"Still worried about the gamplay"
7 just on the page before you posted though your post was long you might have missed a page while writing it. Regardless they are there. People are just giving it a second look and also probably realizing that other games that we enjoy and like do the same thing like Sleeping Dogs, Batman and countless others.

Looks great but I'm just not feeling this game at all.

I don't know it is was the horrendous E3 demo or the fact it used to be a Kinect game and is thought to be QTE heavy but there's something not clicking for me.

Eh. Perhaps the story could be the problem. It just seems so insipid. Dead family? Really? Given the rich history of the Roman empire they couldn't find a more compelling story line than that?

"Push A to make Protagonist relatable".

Still others seem to like it so it's clearly finding an audience.

I like all your push "select button" jokes in Ryse threads, I think you still have a button to go.

As with all games I have any interest in buying, I refuse to look at any story footage.

For now I just want to know if the footage shown looks "screw your 900p argument" pretty?

It always did IMO.

Also, I can't help but think that all of these amazing gifs that all of you are providing would look so much better if it weren't for gamespots horrible player.

Great job on the gifs everyone! Thank you and keep them coming!

HNNNNNNNNNG.

I'm in. Definitely a Day One purchase, if only so I can sit there with my jaw on the floor. Love the setting, really hope Crytek pull this off, would love to see more games from this era.

Speaking of "historical accuracy"...

No way in hell that anyone would call archers to deploy the arrows with "FIRREEE!"

It would probably be something along the line of "launch" or "shoot" (inmitto, but sagittent most probably).. but "fire" (ignis/impes)... no way Crytek.

Whatever.

Pre-order cancelled.

People wanted so hard to find a "downgrade" in the offscreen footage water. So its was just the offscreen footage losing the details.

Nah... for starters, it needs way more fluid physics to look like an offline render.

Oh yeah, it's definitely not not all CG quality yet (hence "near"). The water does need some more work. However those models look pretty damn amazing.

Ahh, yea, I see the ripples in the water now. For god sakes, Crytek. Keep feeding them. Feed them all. Get them lobster, get them a steak. Hell, throw in a bag of Doritos for extra measure! :)

Not going to lie, the game is drop dead gorgeous and looks badass. I am just not sold on the gameplay. But then again, it is probably better than playing something like Heavy Rain or Beyond. If I ever do end up with an Xbox One, I'll likely give it a shot for the subject matter alone.

Trailer gave me chills. Watched it again, pausing throughout to appreciate the details.
I'm definitely in. Day One.

Well done, Crytek.
