Why does this have to be launching the same period as the new consoles? :(

Really want it. But then again I do have a One X that isn't ridiculously outdated, it does have a cracked screen though...

Damnit Google!

Full res render, straight from Google:

Looks like the transparent app drawer icon and the folder transparency have a slight drop shadow, me likey a lot.

The phone icon also doesn't look too bad, the camera icon is comical though.

From the Play store description it definitely seems like the camera will be the headline feature (FINALLY.)

The transparent status bar looks REALLY good to me. The transparent navbar is a bit "meh," maybe cause I saw it on the X first.

Has it been confirmed whether the screen is 5" or 4.96"?

Looking at that render, I find it baffling why it cant fit another .04 of screen in there.

But then again, I'm not sure which report to believe regarding screen size.

What makes you say this?

Hardware OIS alone is a massive upgrade, not many smartphones have it (only the top Lumia's, HTC One, and LG G2 do). The Galaxy line/iphone line/xperia z/etc all don't, but try to make up for it with a software digital IS.

It's similar to if you're comparing Optical zoom vs Digital zoom on cameras, it's a night and day difference.

The lense itself seems really small (as usual) no? I think the "vinyl" around it is purely cosmetic.

The sensor is the same size as the one in the iPhone 5. OIS increases the potential for it to take much better pictures than that phone, though.

But, yes, the large disk is for aesthetic reasons. To make the phone look like the Nexus 7, which also has a large disk.

Really tempted on picking this up once announced, really interested to see the battery life and camera on this thing - two main problems I have with my Nex 4.

Man if this is $300 off contract I might have to bite. I have the iPhone 5 now but was planning to switch back to Android anyways. I still have a year left in my contract, so I could use this for a year and then upgrade cheap next year.

EDIT: No Verizon? Why? That's crazyness.

^ Wow,the white one is pretty sexay

Not really happy with the HTC One (I hate, hate,HATE the power/volume buttons) so I may sell it and use the funds to pick this one up. I hope the camera is as good as the One's.

Hopefully it'll be much better.
I own the One too.

How do you feel about the power button on the One? I am constantly annoyed by how many times I have to mash it for it to register because its so recessed. I wish it had a home button as well, neither does the Nexus though.

I spent hours going back and forth with the Note 3/One/S3 and went with the One based on the build quality but I'm regretting my decision.

That white one looks great. I hope that if there was another color it was offered at launch and not 3 months after I get mine. I hate when they do that.

That white render is just the black render with colours inverted.

Besides, white front frame is stupid and ugly and Google has never made that idiotic mistake in previous white Nexii.

I got used to it, but yeah I kinda hate it. I also have a bad unit, the button is really flush, and having relatively small hands doesn't help at all. Pretty much a pain in the ass every time. Hadn't been the phone as beautiful as it is I wouldn't have even considered it.
I just wish the power/sleep button was on either one of the sides, like 90% of the other phones out there... and this Nexus 5, too, which is also supposedly smaller than the Nexus 4 - absolutely awesome if you ask me.
The home physical button on the front panel is incredibly handy, but the sexy look of the full-black front slate Nexus phones have is unmatched in my opinion.

Well, until Verizon gets some real competition.

So yeah, never.

This is bullcrap! I was planning to switch to verizon and get the nexus. What is the next best thing when it comes to Android phones? (sorry I know this is probably asked a million times).

Itching to switch away from iOS, but the universe is now pushing me to the 5S.

Same, I'm so tempted to cancel one or both of my consoles for this, but then I tell myself if I lasted this long without a smart phone, why not a little longer until after I buy the consoles?

I really want this phone. But i've never had a smartphone without a home button. I've had all iPhones then Galaxy S4.

That makes me nervous.

Wow, I really need to check when my Sprint contract is done and check around how T-Mobile is in my area and go prepaid with this phone!!

The Moto X is easily the next best thing. Basically stock Android and the screen's probably the closest in size to the iPhone in a flagship. I think Moto Maker is coming to Verizon soon too.

Why the hate for the GNex?! Mine still runs pretty well. I am planning to upgrade from it to the N5, but only because my charging has gone a bit wonky and I fancy a small change - the phone itself still works very well. Nice and smooth using 4.3.

Ugh. I need this now. I really can't stand my S3 ... stupid Samsung.

What's wrong with the S3? It's the first non-sluggish, stable Android phone I've had. Phone literally does nothing to piss me off. I run rooted Touchwiz (only firmware with USB OTG audio support) and it does everything without me having to fiddle or think about it.

I'm looking to upgrade because a few large games and Google Music's bloated downloaded album sizes are too much for the available internal storage. Also want to get away from Sprint's horrendously bad 3G/4G.

Nexus 5 packaging photo from Underkg.com
just got these from the web site

p.s site admin deleted the post that includes these photos so quickly,
Source(which is not available now) : http://underkg.com/underkg-exclusive-google-nexus-5-packaging-photo-caught/
p.s2 i am not sure that these photos are real

This is all I could find about those photos

Real?Fake? Who knows looks cool I did notice that the camera circle was black. So maybe they won't have a fully white nexus 5 might look like current Nexus 4 white back black front.
Box does look like the 2013 N7 box though could be real

As well as the Nexus 5 logo

Sorry, but we use a crack team of highly underfed experts with electron microscopes in the Android thread to squash fakes like this
