Yesterday I got the following by putting just Skrelps on GTS:

Haunter -> Gengar
Graveler -> Golem
Machoke -> Machamp
Kadabra -> Alakazam
Boldore -> Gigalith
Amaura
Clauncher
Pinsir
Sawk
Swirlix
2 Dittos
Fennekin
Chespin

Gotta love the GTS and repeat balls

Finally bred a Shiny Aron last night after around 70 Eggs doing the Masuda Method. Now trying to breed a Shiny Eevee. Will be a while, 53 hatches in.

I've only done one Link Battle (a passerby challenged me), but I'm curious, is there any way to set up fights where legendaries are not allowed? Yesterday I battled a guy who used Mega Mewtwo Y, Yveltal and Zygarde, plus Blaziken, Lucario and Garchomp. I managed to beat him (had Yveltal myself, and my Pokémon were EV trained whereas I suspect his were not), but in the future I'd prefer to not some combination of Yveltal/Xerneas/Zygarde/Mewtwo on every team.

This is one of my complaints about the online. As far as I know, you only have a choice between two rulesets: Normal and Flat. Normal sets all Pokemon to level 50. Flat lowers all Pokemon levels above level 50 and bans "special" Pokemon, duplicate Pokemon, and duplicate items.

I guess I'm just going to stick to Flat unless I'm playing a friend who wants to play with below 50s.

What do you mean by "puts an upper bound at level 50?" Can you have Pokémon over lv. 50 and it'll simply scale them to lv. 50? If so, Flat sounds like the way to go.

The Flat Battle ruleset is what you're looking for, but in every format but Triples you only pick a certain amount of Pokemon from what ya got after seeing your opponents'. Think Pokemon Stadium.

Do note that on the Battle Spot only Rating Battles restrict Special Pokemon.

Thanks. I'll try experimenting with Ice Beam over Shadow Sneak, although I love being able to give myself two immunities on the fly before my opponent even attacks (Shadow Sneak being a Ghost-type move that has priority). That makes Shadow Sneak worthwhile, despite being weak and playing off a diminished Attack stat. It's like a form change!

Nice thing about these two moves is you can always teach Ice Beam via TM and always retrieve Shadow Sneak via Move Relearner, so you don't have to give up either for good.

I'll probably make two Greninjas. One special and one Physical. A timid and a jolly one.

Lol haven't done it yet so I can't say. Also Flat is limited to 3 Pokemon. You can see these rules by setting up a battle and checking Battle Rules.

Oooh, that's how it works. That makes things interesting I guess. I still wish there were a way to set settings individually though.

Just filled my 6th box of Tyrunts. No shiny yet.

I've only gotten shinies using the fishing method, which has netted me a shiny Clauncer, Remoraid, Poliwhirl and Skrep (in Y)

I tried using the Pokeradar for a bit, but yeah.. I lost my "touch" :P I used to be pretty good in Diamond (getting shiny Ralts, Surskit, Mareep, Tyrogue and two Snubbull). Can't even get a chain above 10 anymore :/

So wait, is there a way to do 6v6 singles online against strangers, where legendaries are banned and no duplicate items are allowed?

Just redid the EV page on the site. Someone's probably already posted this but it's a useful tip none-the-less.

Super Training doesn't make EV training easy...Hordes do.

Takes what, 2 minutes to do a Level 3 Mini-game to get +12 in a point. Sounds good, right?

Let's say we're EV training in Speed.

Your Pokémon is PokéRus'd and holding the Power Anklet. That's +8 on any Pokémon.
Battle a Zubat and that's normally +1,+2 with PokéRus, so that's +10.

Go to Connecting Cave and use Honey and/or Sweet Scent. Zubat Horde. 5 Zubats. +50 in one minute. Five of them, and then a standard Zubat, and you're fully EV trained in that stat.

Absolutely glorious, you can fully EV train in a stat in 5 minutes.

I know your pain... I'm at 9 boxes of Tyrunts.

You gotta get PokeRus though, which is a hassle in and of itself. Super Training is really easy to use and convenient, but it's good that they have alternative ways in the game for others who want to do it the traditional way.

How?

All of these.
Also, throw in the fact GTS is still bullshit with morons asking for legendaries for a generic Pokemon
and can't Game Chat while playing.
You can turn that off in the options dude.

Speaking of EV training, does anyone have pokerus they could send to me?

Easy these days thanks to Wonder Trade.

I love the super training mini game, and that's after EV training like 4 Pokemon so far.

I guess it's nice to have an alternative though!

Found a shiny in the friend safari!

I am actually incredibly Jealous right now.... That golden Steelix swag.

Got a perfect Mawile now. Now to find the Mawilenite.

How the crap am I meant to catch a Zangoose in a horde :|

Use a Pokemon that is around the similar level as them that knows Earthquake. It will be SE on the Seviper, but should not kill the Zangoose.

Makes sense, cheers. Should have thought about that a bit more :P

So I'm not the greatest at breeding, but I've managed to get an outstanding Scyther with three perfects. Not sure if I should keep at it, or stick with that one.

Time to make some poor team choices because they're Pokemon I like!

Aegislash, Chesnaught, and Metagross, three weaknesses to Fire...

What
sub-30 seconds or bust

Yeah, you start completing Level 3 training regimens in ~10-15 seconds (mostly because of the intro). I usually do 2 or 3 in a row then hit the punching bags. Super Training is awesome and I hope it becomes a permanent fixture in the series. ST, Amie, and PSS are infinitely more useful than the crappy C-Gear in Gen V.

I have about ten Pokemon to evolve to complete my Kalas Pokedex (only counting the new Pokemon) so I'm grinding at Victory Road. Is there a faster place to do this?

Thank god for EXP Share.

The level 3 mini-games are actually harder than expected with some Pokémon, especially if they are lacking in base stats.

Hordes can give you a lot of them at once... provided that you have both PKRS and the right Power Item. Then there's the thing that you might not want to expose your Pokémon to freaking Pursuit (FLOATZEL).

Both have their places - and, I, for one, welcome our Super Training overlords.

There is nothing wrong with having a large weakness to one type if you have a reliable answer for it. Whether it's through move coverage, abilities, etc.

Fire weakness isn't a huge deal if you have a way to deal with key fire threats. If you're good at predicting pick up a guy with Flash Fire and abuse the boost. This kinda stuff is harder to do against competent competitive players, but your average joe online will not know how to handle it.

Sad how many people I've seen leave their Delphox/Blaziken/Lucario out against Mamoswine.

1. Do tons of wonder trading -> get pokemiles.
2. Trade pokemiles for rare candy on pokemon-gl.com
3. Success!

It's better to just catch a Seviper and trade it on the GTS for a Zangoose.

Thanks, but already took DaBoss's advice. I'm in capture mode at the moment, sweet scent and earthquake, didnt take long at all. Plus I already have a Kadabra sitting on the GTS, :) Thanks!

I'm surprised they didn't make an egg hatching mini game that would influence iVs, moves, hidden abilities, or hell just make it hatch faster. They did all this streamlining but kept in the most boring aspect.
