Now without the voice of himself and other prominent developers this is the shit we end up with.
So all those fantastic looking games like killzone, uncharted, halo 4, tlou are suddenly shit? Because of 720p?

How quickly peoples opinions change.

Ill wait for the "proof" and even if it is 720p who gives a shit, we know the xbox can do 1080p.

This thread just screams "look guys I told you, ps4 is better, hahahahha eat shit"

Urg.

Especially for Call of Duty. Look, am I bummed that a lot of XB1 games are not coming out at the best possible resolution? Yes, of course I am. However, I have no real control over that. One might say that I could just get a PS4 instead and then all of my problems would be solved. However, I don't want a PS4. What I want is an Xbox One. For some on this forum my preference for choosing to get an Xbox One might seem strange or even crazy especially considering all that has happened on this forum and in the real world for the past several months. Does this make me just some random ignorant Sony hating Xbox fanboy? No. Thanks to this forum I am way more aware of how good of a console the PS4 will be. I know more about both of these consoles than I would have ever wanted to ever since I started to lurk through this site back in May. My increased knowledge in both the PS4 and the Xbox One has still not changed how I view Xbox consoles and the numerous years and good memories that had owning and playing them. I know that the Xbox One is weaker than the PS4. That fact has been smacked into my brain non-stop for the last several months. While my post up to this point may have sounded incredibly passive-aggressive and "salty", I am legitimately happy for future PS4 owners. They have a great console and some really cool games to look forward to. However, I still love Xbox. I am still a big fan of the Halo franchise and I very much look forward to playing TitanFall on the Xbox One come March 11th. In these times, I choose to be optimistic that the overall performance of the Xbox One will improve with time. I'm sure that everyone here would agree that Gears of War 3 looks leaps and bounds better than Gears of War 1. It is my hope that the process of graphical improvement that took place between GOW1 and GOW3 will repeat itself on Xbox One games. But still to this day, the most important thing for me is having fun playing a game. I do want my games to look good, I mean who wouldn't? As it stands, most of the Xbox One games now actually look really good to me. So the possibility that a game in a franchise that I really really don't like won't look as good on the Xbox One isn't worth a whole hill of beans to me. So yet again, with emphasis...

Your wall o'text makes it apparent you care more than you think you do.

You don't see a difference in clarity here?

Why pay $100 extra for the one with worse performance.

Honestly, for me, because of the games plus the added non-gaming features. The PS4 does have a great lineup for 2013/2014 though. Also, I have a nice pc with a gtx660 and that will run Titanfall and Project Spark just fine, two of my most anticipated X1 games.

So many launch titles coming out in 720p is really really making me hesitant to pick up an X1.

Edit:

I can't wait until the systems are out so there will be no more wild speculation. Everyone could be getting all worked up for nothing. Why do so many people hope that this is true? I am getting a PS4 but this could be a real bummer for people getting the Xbox. Actually, as someone who likes to play all games in general, I will probably end up getting the Xbox One eventually also.

Well, it's not necessarily a big deal. But obviously, tech is important to many enthusiasts. And obviously, this does have implications in regards to the tech wars, even if those implications obviously wouldn't be definitive (and this is just a rumor anyway).
I also think a big problem is that there's simply not much to balance this out: Saturn had 2D specialization and a lot of great exclusives that never hit PS1 or N64, PS2 had DVD playback, Xbox had raw power, Playstation 3 had esoteric specialization and blu-ray, XB1 has... a few exclusives (that if the 360's any indication would taper off in the long run), Kinect bundled in, and a bunch of exclusive media deals. None of that is really that compelling to a lot of us and Kinect aside isn't an actual hardware advantage, so for $100 more the value is very suspect.

Likewise with power, most of the time the weaker system was cheaper or was potentially stronger but harder to take advantage of, I think Wii U got flak more for being JUST above 360/PS3 and worse arguably in some ways moreso than just not being up to the PS4/XB1. Here, it's significantly weaker yet more expensive, and combined with the above it's just really hard to justify, doubly so with the PR shitstorm that around E3.

Oh wow.

This gonna make a difference. I don't even play CoD but holy shit, it's pretty much what the casual audience will play and they'll go for the best quality possible, especially if it's for 100$ less.

Can it actually do that though outside of Driving sims? I mean if Crytek couldn't hit 1080p...

there is nothing wrong with posts like that. if ps4 had a forza equivalent at launch (gt6 :sadface), or a halo equivalent in the pipes (my favorite game by far), or an official date for titanfall, then i'd have a hell of a lot more interest in picking up the cheaper, more powerful system. but from my point of view - if i got a ps4 over an x1 it would simply be because of its extra p's and certainly not for its games.

as a gamer, that is silly and should be ridiculed.
Except you're thinking of the short term.

That's fine. If you love MS games much more than Sony games, it makes sense to get an Xbox One, despite its flaws. Thing is, most people are coming from the perspective that the majority of releases on these systems are third party games. And so in terms of an investment, to most it makes more sense to get the PS4, as the majority of the games can run better. So why not get the system that has the capability to play the majority of your games at superior performance/resolution?

But again, if you really love MS first party titles, so much so, that it's worth playing the majority of your games in a given year at a lower resolution/performance and at a $100 + more, that is perfectly valid.

This is like too bad to be true.

If it is true, I'm sure the Xbone COD was able to hit the 60fps mark @ 1080, but they couldn't get it to stay there enough to meet the solid 60fps standard.
