Honestly I really can't tell when I'm playing a 1080p/720p on my 50" plasma from normal distance. It's not like a pc at all where you're a foot away at most.

That being said the fact the ps4 at 100 bucks less can run a game a 1080p and the xbox 1 can't is pretty hilarious. It says a lot about the power difference and/or ease of development.

I can't believe the Xbox One is already showing how underpowered it is. This is only launch and we're seeing massive differences in the resolution. I expect to see framerate differences to be added to the list.

there is nothing wrong with posts like that. if ps4 had a forza equivalent at launch (gt6 :sadface), or a halo equivalent in the pipes (my favorite game by far), or an official date for titanfall, then i'd have a hell of a lot more interest in picking up the cheaper, more powerful system. but from my point of view - if i got a ps4 over an x1 it would simply be because of its extra p's and certainly not for its games.

as a gamer, that is silly and should be ridiculed.
oh please. Better graphics make games better. Higher frame rates make them play better to boot. There's nothing ridiculous about caring about getting the best version of a game.

If you're happy with the exclusives, I have no ire aimed towards you. But don't say it doesn't matter what resolution and framerate a game runs at. I'm perfectly happy with my Wii U because of the Nintendo exclusives, but since I can only afford one console this winter, and since one of those consoles runs multiplats a lot better than the other, and is cheaper, I'll take that option and get more games, rather than getting less games, and inferior versions of multiplats.

That's not something that should be ridiculed any more than you wanting an Xbox One for the exclusives.

I miss the good old days when console gamers universally agreed that the difference between 720p and 1080p simply wasn't perceptible.

Oh wow.

This gonna make a difference. I don't even play CoD but holy shit, it's pretty much what the casual audience will play and they'll go for the best quality possible, especially if it's for 100$ less.

I'm not even sure most casual COD will care about the difference. However, it does fuel the "Xbone is inferior to PS4"-narrative.

Man, this gen is gonna be fun!

So all those fantastic looking games like killzone, uncharted, halo 4, tlou are suddenly shit? Because of 720p?

How quickly peoples opinions change.

Ill wait for the "proof" and even if it is 720p who gives a shit, we know the xbox can do 1080p.

This thread just screams "look guys I told you, ps4 is better, hahahahha eat shit"

Urg.

i did edit his post slightly btw.

i see a difference. its pretty big. its disappointing its there. but i dont think its as obvious unless i see the two side by side - which would never occur in my living room (which is also rather large!)

No, but...

Especially for Call of Duty. Look, am I bummed that a lot of XB1 games are not coming out at the best possible resolution? Yes, of course I am. However, I have no real control over that. One might say that I could just get a PS4 instead and then all of my problems would be solved. However, I don't want a PS4. What I want is an Xbox One. For some on this forum my preference for choosing to get an Xbox One might seem strange or even crazy especially considering all that has happened on this forum and in the real world for the past several months. Does this make me just some random ignorant Sony hating Xbox fanboy? No. Thanks to this forum I am way more aware of how good of a console the PS4 will be. I know more about both of these consoles than I would have ever wanted to ever since I started to lurk through this site back in May. My increased knowledge in both the PS4 and the Xbox One has still not changed how I view Xbox consoles and the numerous years and good memories that I have had owning and playing them. I know that the Xbox One is weaker than the PS4. That fact has been smacked into my brain non-stop for the last several months. While my post up to this point may have sounded incredibly passive-aggressive and "salty", I am legitimately happy for future PS4 owners. They have a great console and some really cool games to look forward to. However, I still love Xbox. I am still a big fan of the Halo franchise and I very much look forward to playing TitanFall on the Xbox One come March 11th. In these times, I choose to be optimistic that the overall performance of the Xbox One will improve with time. I'm sure that everyone here would agree that Gears of War 3 looks leaps and bounds better than Gears of War 1. It is my hope that the process of graphical improvement that took place between GOW1 and GOW3 will repeat itself on Xbox One games. But still to this day, the most important thing for me is having fun playing a game. I do want my games to look good, I mean who wouldn't? As it stands, most of the Xbox One games now actually look really good to me. So the possibility that a game in a franchise that I really really don't like won't look as good on the Xbox One isn't worth a whole hill of beans to me. So yet again, with emphasis...

Why did you waste money on a TV? I can clearly make out aliasing in 1080p games on my 65" TV from 8 or 9 feet away. I can very clearly see the difference in 720p scaled to fit my TV and native 1080p... and no I don't need side by side to tell.

And I don't even have two perfectly functioning eyes.
