RUMOUR: Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is 720p, PS4 version is 1080p?

Nothing implied about it - he's outright saying it. And so is famousmortimer now. And not the first time I've heard this shit from other insiders too.

Smoke = more fire?

Not like our "tech fellows" haven't been saying this for weeks now. Add the insiders saying it now and it looks like a done deal

Bwahaha this is hilarious. Wish I came in here sooner.

I imagine, just like Xbone's early DRM fiasco, word-of-mouth about this will travel fast. Different AF/texture/whatever settings might be hard to discern, but a crisp 1080p image vs a blurry 720p one is as clear as day to anyone.

It's funny how GAF didn't react quite in the same manner when the first (few) rounds of PS3 versions of multiplatform turned out to be complete pony when compared to the "Xbox 1.5" versions!

Are you serious or were not here back then or just salty? PS3 got lambasted HARD back then.

so now 720p vs 1080p is not a big deal, wow!!, might just bring back to life my old CRT TV then. the meltdowns, the meltdowns OMG!!

Can someone make a Gif of the XB1 being played on a CRT TV please.

Gaf hates the xbox....if any xbone game ever came out that looked better than the ps4 version they would have to shut down the servers for a week.

pretty funny all round though. ...im still getting both consoles and cod on xbone

Pop quiz: Has there been any instance where the "GAF hates [insert blanket platform here]" narrative has actually been true?

Answer:
No.

Welp. So its truthfact now.

There were a lot games that were subHD when PS3 and 360 launched. Hopefully for xbone it will get better with time. Maybe not 1080p but at least 1600 x 900

Maybe they couldn't make it in time with their 1080p/60fps promise.

Honestly I'm glad that it's delayed, it means that we'll get a finished and more polished product.

That's something that some companies need to learn how to do these days...
I agree about the delay, as long as they make it better, I'm all for it. But I didn't mean to say the ps4 is rushed because of it, just saying anyone can speculate, doesn't mean it's true without proof.

Stop there, your memory is complete pony.

It took years before multiplatform games got close to parity, but before then it wasn't the systems fault it was "lazy devs" or "leadbetter's biased", I'd like to know a little bit more before I completely write off the XB1.

The PS3 got raked over the coals just as badly, don't you worry.

yup. NeoGAF massacred the PS3 in the first two years. As soon as that price was announced, dark skies formed around Sony's head. Plus there was a delay, the arrogant PR. Oh, Sony got straight reamed.

Selective memory from some posters because they forget NeoGAF is way, WAY bigger than it was back when PS3 came out and so any reaction is amplified 10 fold now.

Oh, I'm an idiot then. I'm wondering then if this is such a big deal though? Like, I can see the difference between 1080 and 720, but for the people that have been playing 720 console games, do you think it will make that much of a difference? It's got to be 900p for me or bust.

I don't think it'll make much of a difference at the market at large, not for a game like CoD. Titanfall, though... maybe it'll hurt that one.

Lol. To be fair, I doubt most people care about music bit rates. I would just think as a consumer, you would want something to be the best that it can be if you are paying the same price as the better version. But just me. Like I said though, I do understand that if you are someone that is buying based on first party titles, you aren't really apart of this debate.
hey i'm not an audiophile by any means but you can notice the difference, especially when it costs less for more ;)

This has truly become an epic thread. Disappointing that it's been confirmed, for sure, but epic nonetheless. I have to wake up for work in five hours' time, so I'll leave you gents to it for now. I'll catch up in the morning

Note to self: was on page 72.

I obviously could be wrong of course and cboat could be laughing at me right now but how a game that looks like cod can not run at 1080p let alone 900p on a system thats pushing Ryse at 900p at 30fps and yes i know COD is running at 60fps but it does not seem that demanding.

It's pretty simple, Xbone's GPU is very close in performance to a 7770. Here you can see in order to get it to run at 60 FPS for CoD Blops, the res is at 1280x1024.

index.php

If the res is any higher, they won't be able to achieve 60 FPS.

Yea 720p vs 1080p doesnt matter. It only made me build a fricken PC because I saw what BF3 on ultra looked like when it launched.

Its a huge difference, more than double the pixels.

This thread is insane.

Def waiting for the PS4 version or just the PC version for Titanfall then.

Was already getting CoD on PS4 to play with friends.

But good to know we will be playing at a much superior resolution.

I would almost feel bad with Albert, but that dude has been spewing so much spin since he has gotten here. I'm somewhat amazed it has gone unchecked as it has.

crazy thread.

What the fuck, this can't be real. My HD6850 is more capable than Xbox One's GPU? That's insane.

So now I'm wondering, is the Xbox One version of the NBA 2K14 going to be running at 1080p? So many implications I'm seeing here. If the Xbox One was rushed hardware, doesn't this affect developers total time to work on the game? Or is it likely that they had plenty of time, but based on the devkit, it was harder to program for?
