I'll buy it for graphics power that I can use on my couch without any messing about. And as always, if you're buying the PS4 for graphics power alone, then you're doing it wrong, there is and will always be a much more powerful alternative - PC.

Can you elaborate on what you mean? I basically don't get it.
Party chat up to 8 players on PS4 says that won't blow again that easily... also COD Ghosts will have dedicated servers in curent, next-gen and PCs.Who really cares? I will still get the Xbone version because Live blows PSN away for MP.
This is true however we only have the current gen to go on.Xbox 360 XBLG blows away PS3 PSN, you have no idea if XBO XBLG blows away PS4 PSN.
Wow, that is a piece of art. It really is.
I think it's amazing how people go out of their way to legitimate spending 500$ on a weak "next gen" machine instead of buying the clearly superior one for 100bucks less. The argument "but it's the games" doesn't matter since you buy that new platform for only one reason, that is that it's more powerful than it's predecessor.
Is it bad that I read this in Daffy Duck's voiceAlthough the space allotted here can't possibly suffice to elaborate in detail on the long list of Microsoft's quixotic dissertationsincluding the snappish, the scabrous, the doolally, and especially the misleadingI'll use what little space I have to stand as a witness in the divine court of the Eternal Judge and proclaim that Microsoft and others of its ilk are symbols of myopic insurrectionism. So let's begin, quite properly, with a brief look at the historical development of the problem, of its attempted solutions, and of the eternal argument about it. Microsoft's junta is an incubator for an upcoming new epidemic of antagonism. This is the flaw in Microsoft's platitudes. It doesn't understand that if it feels ridiculed by all the attention my letters are bringing it, then that's just too darn bad. Microsoft's arrogance has brought this upon itself.
It's incumbent upon us all, as thinking machines and social beings, to think very hard about how the fight to give our young people the values that will inspire them to investigate Microsoft's jackbooted principles, ideals, and objectives demands a fight against prostitution, prejudices, old habits, and previous conceptions. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but you get the general drift. One wonders how Microsoft can complain about the worst types of yawping, self-pitying desperados there are given that its own conclusions also aim to stifle the voices of those who are simply seeking to be heard. If we take Microsoft's flimflams to their logical conclusion, we see that quicker than you can double-check the spelling of "incomprehensibleness", Microsoft will prey on people's fear of political and economic instability. Microsoft has been known to "prove" statistically that no one is smart enough to see through its transparent lies. As you might have suspected, its proof is flawed. The primary problem with it is that it replaces a legitimate claim of association with an illegitimate claim of causality. Consequently, Microsoft's "proof" demonstrates only that it wants to introduce a zeitgeist of ethnocentrism to our society. You know what groups have historically wanted to do the same thing? Fascists and Nazis.
Although Microsoft has tremendous popular appeal it may seem difficult at first to call people to their highest and best, not accommodate them at their lowest and least. It is. But its writings disgust and infuriate me. End of story. Actually, I should add that its jibes are becoming increasingly feckless. They have already begun to shred the basic compact between the people and their government. Now fast-forward a few years to a time in which they have enabled Microsoft to etiolate its nemeses. If you don't want such a time to come then help me reinvigorate our collective commitment to building and maintaining a sensitive, tolerant, and humane community. Help me perform noble deeds.
Microsoft maintains that honor counts for nothing. That's not just a lie but is actually the exact opposite of the truthand Microsoft knows it. Why is Microsoft deliberately turning the truth on its head like that? It is only when one has an answer to that question is it possible to make sense of Microsoft's homilies because Microsoft swims in a sea of fascism, the waters of which roil with anger and resentment. Most of that anger and resentment is directed towards people like me who establish a "truth commission" whose charter is to investigate some of Microsoft's more avaricious philippics.
At first, you might be unsure as to whether given the public appetite for more accountability, Microsoft's objectives stink to high heaven. But on deeper inspection, you'll certainly conclude that Microsoft is planning to force square pegs into round holes. This does not bode well for the future because it ignores a breathtaking number of facts, most notably:
Fact: Now is not the time to go wobbly on our opposition to its incompetent, churlish stratagems.
Fact: Its flights of fancy are dimwitted with a side of dimwitted sauce.
Fact: In legal terminology, it is guilty of suppressio veri or "concealment of truth".
In addition, it wasn't so long ago that people like you and me were free to hold it to account for recovering the dead past by annihilating the living present. Recently, that's become a lot harder to do. What happened that changed things so much? To put it briefly, Microsoft happened. By peonizing and enslaving its critics, Microsoft has managed to alter laws, language, and customs in the service of regulating social relations. I'd like to end this letter with a message for Microsoft. I'd like to say with emphasis and distinctnessnot as a threat, but as a warningthat I will do whatever it takes to break away from the peloton and issue a call to conscience and reason, and I won't let Microsoft stop me from achieving that goal.
I'm more a proof in the pudding kind of guy, not a cherry picked tech specs kinda guy. When we see a game looking 50% better, I'll believe all of that.
Who really cares? I will still get the Xbone version because Live blows PSN away for MP.
I think that's likely, yes, but if which has the better online service is the only thing someone cares about, they should wait and actually see what those services are this time around. This is true however we only have the current gen to go on.
XBL will most likely be the better online service though.
I'll buy it for graphics power that I can use on my couch without any messing about.
I'm talking about actual games, not the words of an anonymous developer.
Well buying the bone sets a bad precedent
Damning assessment but one that I agree with
Not necessarily. It's enough that I know what you use to do with threads like this.
This gif makes my head hurt as my eyes keep trying to adjust to the out of focus upscaled image (in vein, as it's just blurry, nothing to adjust to)Transplanted the HUD elements to account for that...

Shh, if you say his name 3 times he'll be summoned back to the earth to ruin games journalism for 7 weeks.Has Arthur Gies already tied to spin this?
I like the cut of your jib.It can't be gold, i didn't have to pay $60 to read it.
I know, now imagine that at 720p instead, you've just got home from the store with a $500 console a $60 game, a $60 season pass and a $60 XBLG sub.
.
Damn your overly long but gramatically correct sentences.
I absolutely agree. XONE lineup is killer.
I am getting XONE at launch and a PS4 after xmas as that is when it's killer titles will drop. Super excited for both machines.
Cherry picked specs?! Those are the specs! That is what gives the console its power and if you want proof in the pudding look at the thread title. There you go..
I wanted it more for the TV and media stuff anyways... It'll be an exclusives machine most likely.
Hopefully this 720p stuff is just on IW's side.
They aren't all of the specs though, are they? and 50% more CU's doesn't make a 50% stronger GPU. Etc. Anyway, I've said all I need to say in this thread. We'll never all agree, and thats cool, discussion and differing opinions are good.
If Rockstar choose to do the next GTA game on next-gen consoles, they'll be able to do all that and they'll achieve their goals easier on PS4 than on Xbone, with lower cost to the developer and the player. That's the disappointing part about how MS designed Xbone and if they want to convince players to pick up their box over the competition they will have to bring out some serious arguments, not wish that players overlook lower resolution.I don't want to be stuck at 720p - I DO want my games consistently at least 30fps (SP games) - I want nice textures, nice models, good lighting and so on.
I'm not completely and utterly fixed on a single thing (resolution) like so many are
You know what the best looking game that I've seen in the past 5 years is?
GTAV - that lighting, that art design? Fucking immaculate - would I like it smoother? Fuck yes, would I like the jaggies to be gone? Sure - but that games lighting alone is fucking astonishing. That's gaming to me. - because once you suspend disbelief - it's one of the most lifelike games I've ever played - light, is right.

If this were false wouldn't someone have denied it by now?

Forza 5, dude! It really IS 1080p and 60fps... the only next-gen flagship so far to be doing that all the time. It looks buttery smooth, very appealing. Much more attractive than Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Your kind of contradicting yourself here. You say you can't tell what's native and what's upscaled and then say that they're the same based on the assets available to you. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and you just aren't capable of telling the difference yourself. But, then that would raise some concern considering the position you're in.
Personally, I don't believe a word you're saying. How can someone in your position not be privy to this sort of basic information about a game that's a month from launch; especially when you consider how closely COD is tied to MS?!
This makes me sad and a little irritated towards MS. If the person(s) responsible for Xbox One's specs still works there, they don't need to be involved with anything MS makes again. What a huge fuckup by MS. I'm no fanboy, but I have preferred most of my gaming on Xbox and Xbox 360 due to the games looking or performing a little better. PS4 is getting all my love this upcoming gen. Good job alienating your core, MS.
Your right, all xbox fans should leave any thread relating to xbox and its games so the Sony shills can continue to shit all over everything.I see the thread has gone some places and some people are in flat out denial over this. It's best to just ignore threads like this if you're a diehard Xbone fan who can't take it.
There are more sources pointing to this being true than not so I would take this one pretty seriously vs your average rumor.
You should go where you think you're gonna have more fun, buddy, but what you said has not been true for a long time now...

I have to ask about this again, because nobody could answer last time. Given the weird jaggies seen so far, is it really 1920x1080, or is there some horizontal scaling going on? To me, 1080p means 1920x1080, but to PR, I'm guessing not necessarily.
