France on the other hand needs to stop with the Bunnelby, Scatterbug, and Flabebe. So far, the only good Pokemon she has given me was a Corsola.
Though, France is not alone in this. Most US players I traded with have giiven me Pokemon easily found in the first three routes.

Wish I even got those. All Japan gives me is recycled English Scatterbugs. Jokes on them though, the last one I got evolved into one of the rare Vivillon patterns rather than the usual Modern pattern.

3-star Restaurant Le Wow in Lumiose. Sushi High Roller costs 500k and a perfect run only gives you Big Nuggets that combine to 250k max, whereas Le Wow will actually earn you money while you level. Occasionally leave to sell the Balm Mushrooms.

Battles are chained together, so you can activate an EXP/Money O-Power at the start and it won't expire until the end. Triples/rotation has more Pokemon to kill than doubles. An Audino is even added to one of the teams. Triples is better than rotation because you can kill more than once a turn. It's even faster with spread moves like Surf, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Discharge, etc. My current lazy team for triples is Lapras / Greninja / Parasect because I spam Surf and my side-liners absorb the hit.

If you don't have a comfortable team for triples yet, you could do one of the other two options. If 1-2 of your Pokemon are good enough to handle rotation battles, you can have something you want leveled in the 3rd active slot doing nothing but still gaining full experience because it's technically participating in the fight.

I am getting super bored with the game though. I have 7 badges and the "story" just kicked in and it just seems like such a fucking chore right now.

Advice? Tips? Is it feasible to just take a break and learn about all that other stuff and start breeding now?

No, they're not. I already have a Bagon anyway, so you don't need to waste Pokemon that good on me. You can just give me anything if you want one.

I can't speak for everyone, but it doesn't bother me at all. The main thing you should be worried about is if you have big hands. If you have small hands an XL is probably not right for you. You should try one out and hold it in your hands before you buy one.

I hate that the evolutions all look pissed off and the earlier iterations are cute and quirky but aren't nearly as strong. I know Pikachu has the lightball as an option, is there anything like that for other guys like Squirtle?

Get a Ditto off GTS and you're set. I don't believe he's available until later in the game.
Same spot you are, traded for a Ditto and did some breeding. Once you get the ball rolling and get multiples of the starters you can trade for pretty much anything so you can get Pokemon you'd only catch later.

Eviolite helps, but that would only work on something not terrible to begin with. Squirtle just doesn't have anything going for it.

Best way to farm style is doing the premier balls trick, but I guess you can raise your style repeatedly using the restaurants.

Buy them individually from the Pokeball boutique. Each transaction raises style and premier balls are cheap, and cheaper with o powers.

Edit: never thought of doing that without even losing money...it didn't take a huge amount at least when I did it.

Why do you need Solar Beam on Heliolisk anyway? Surf covers similar types, and works better with Rain Dance and Dry Skin. Plus Heliolisk does not have the bulk to take advantage of Solar Power.

Because its ability Solar Power raises its Sp. Attack 1.5X when the sun is out. Which means Solar Beam would attack instantly and be a lot stronger and would cover his ground weakness.

It's not necessary, but it would be cool and make sense.

True, as the guidebook could be wrong and assuming that you can transfer item from gen 5 to 6.

But we also have to assume that the guidebook isn't wrong at the time.

Wonder why so many people were quoting that backpacker as proof of a Hoenn remake when that's clearly not the case haha. There are many references to past regions (Including Hoenn) in the game, but that backpacker is definitely not one of them.

I remember talking to him the first time and being like "Huh? This guy doesn't mention Hoenn at all."

Because he mention the battle frontier and people thought he was talking about Hoenn, until they realised that he was talking about a future region.

I didn't think much of that as other games mentioned the other regions before.

True, but this is different as the NPC say,

"Ah you will find out soon enough."

He's clearly hinting that we are going to see the region some point in the future may it be in Z version or gen 7.
