Starting to wish that the VS seeker was in the game or that Audino wasn't in route 6 at a low level.

Why Game Freak make stupid design choices like those is beyond me.

Is there a better place than victory road to train?

restaurant le wow in lumiose. I made a more substantial post earlier but its tough to dig it up while on the phone.

Derp double post :(

So, as some may remember, I did a Scyther giveaway a couple days ago. Given how it was more interesting than simply using Wonder Trade, I decided to do another one, but this time I'll give two pokemons: Goomy and Staryu:

* All the Goomys are Bold, can have one of its 3 abilities and have 3 to 5 perfect IVs

* All Staryus will be Timid, have 2 to 5 perfect IVs and have the ability Natural Cure.

Please note that I have more Goomys than Staryus.

HOW IT WORKS:

* Add my friend code (1521-3023-7741) and PM me specifying which of the pokemon you want (if you don't want both!) and your in-game name (please do this even if you were in the previous giveaway).

* I will answer the PMs from oldest to the newest, so please be patient! Additionally, if I'm unable to reach you in-game during the process, I might skip to the next PM, so please be sure you can be online when I answer your PM!

* Although I don't expect anything good back, I would appreciate any pokemon exclusive to X!

PM sent! Hope I'm not too late. :x

Can anyone help me evolve my Scyther through trade?

And this is a huge favor to ask but... anyone willing to part with Scizornite? I got Lucarionite/Blastoisenite if you want that. *shrugs*

I seriously love how much easier breeding is this gen! My brother saw hong long it used to take me to get my semi-perfect (I only went for a couple of max IVs) Pokémon, and it completely turned him off of breeding.

But now that I've told him about all the new changes that were happening, he actually seemed interested in it now. I taught him how to breed perfect Pokémon in about five minutes. Five.

Thank you based Game Freak!

I've seen that chart before, and while it's helpful, I found a different guide written by someone on gamefaqs that seemed very legitimate. Link is here:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/696959-pokemon-x/67535721?page=0

There are some differences between the two regarding breeding, such as that the gamefaqs method never mentioning egg groups or the like, just skipping straight to farming dittos and using them to breed... Whereas, the chart talks about dittos only near the final portion of breeding. Which is more accurate? Or are there any substantial differences? I'm going to start breeding soon, wanted to make sure I was doing it right!
It's a good guide. The one thing I suggest (As does one of the comments), is that you mark your Pokémon instead of nicknaming them. Just go from left to right, HP to SPE, and mark whatever stats that Pokémon has maxed. It's so much easier than nicknaming them all.

So it seems like the best natures to shoot for are Adamant, Jolly, Timid, and Modest. With Bold, Impish, Careful, and Calm being kind of okay as well. Is this right?

Yeah I've been marking all the Ditto's I got with just that method. Nicknaming them all seems inifintely more tedious. I wish markings would transfer across trades, so others could instantly know what IV's are 31.

Markings do transfer via trade, lol. I've received several foreign Ditto already marked correctly.

Time to EV this noob Froakie.

252 Speed/Special Attack with 4 HP sound like a good plan? Moveset of Surf/Dark Pulse/Ice Beam/Substitute or some other special move?

New version of the training guide from a guy on /vp/

I could be wrong, but I think the best natures are the ones that suit the particular pokemon you're breeding or using. I've been using Serebii to see which stats are the strongest and weakest, and going to see which natures enhance and decrease those stats, then looking for the pokemon with that nature.

That being said, there may very well be an umbrella of "safe" good natures to use depending on how you play, how competitive you are, if you frequent smogon.. I'm still acclimatizing to all of this new pokemon jargon myself!

Best EVs to train for a Modest Ralts and a Timid Staryu? I'm thinking Special Attack and Defense for the Ralts, and Speed and Special Attack for the Staryu?

Natures depend both on the Pokemon and on the role you're planning to use it for. For example, I was breeding Goomys with a Bold Nature to increase their bad base Defense, and then EV train it on HP+DEF in order to play a bulky role, since its SP.DEF is already high enough.

On BW, I did a similar thing with my Jellicent: Since I wanted to use it as a mixed wall, I gave it a Bold nature (to increase its pitiful defense) and EV trained on Defense and HP.

Cheers everyone, I've literally been trying for about 6 hours on and off to get that and now 3 shiny Goldeen later I finally have done! Shame it has literally the worst nature possible but it's more of a trophy anyway and makes up for the shiny Sharpedo I had when I was 9 and didn't realise was shiny!

I wonder if we're likely to get a Jirachi event.

I'm tempted to see if I can get Jirachi from Pokemon Channel, transfer it to Sapphire (if I can find my cables for GC -> GBA), and then transfer it all the way through each game until it gets to Pokemon Transfer (in December).

Ah well, I have a little while to wait anyway for that.

I would love one with 5 if you have any left :D FC is in my profile, but I think you already have me on friends. I will add you when I get home. Thanks!

You don't happen to still have some more good Smeargles, do you? ^_^

Baz - 3711-7731-5704

Did you get rid of all of these?

I'm at work right now, but can I get one later today? I already have you added, my character name is Hibi.

Sorry that I couldn't get to you guys before. (I went to bed.) I'll add you guys and get a trade sent, should I encounter you online. I still have half a box left of these Smeargles, in case anyone else is interested. My friend code and details on the giveaway were listed on a previous page (check my post history).

Today I think I'll work on breeding my Regenerator Slowbrow. Assault Vest is a great item for him, allowing him 394/327/327 defenses post-EV training with perfect IVs. I think I'll utilize both that, and his great typing to have him act as a wall of sorts. Paired with Regenerator, he can just keep goin' and goin'. Great item. Great generation.

Scrafty, i'm on if you want to trade.

BIG favor but could you save one female with 4 IVs for me? I don't get out of work/gym until 7.

I'd do it now but the work Wifi is almost literally two paper clips french kissing.

Edit: nvm, I don't really have much to give in return.

Sure, i'll save you one.

Alright, managed to breed a sneasel with pursuit, ice shard AND icicle crash.

It's really dumb that it doesn't automatically learn these pretty good moves other than through breeding, but oh well.

With the Gen 3 remakes coming, would be silly not to.
