No, there are specific areas where certain things appear different, it's never any of the tall grass.
In Route 6, don't actually go into any of the super tall grass, stay in the area that you had to go through to get there, with no wild encounters and whatnot.
One of the bushes on either side will shake. If it doesn't, leave the area and come back.

In caves, there are dark circles with rocks crumbling.
In Lost Hotel and Pokemon Village, there are trash cans that shake.
I'm not sure what Frost Cavern's is.
 
Just fought my friend in a vs battle. Pretty close battle. Vs recorder code is DRDW-WWWW-WWWX-RJRH for anyone who wants to see Aegislash, Malamar, Tyrantrum, Noivern, Goodra, among some other popular ones. I won't spoil the ending.

ugh I hate that I can sync and spend my pokemiles on heart scales, but then when I try to sync 5 seconds later to send the scales to my game, Game Sync is busy and doesn't work ;(
 
Took me about 5 hours of breeding combined last night and tonight to get my Brave Honedge with 31 IVs in HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense.

Not looking forward to other members of my team needing 5 IVs ugh.

Time for Wonder Trade though! Hope I get some good stuff.
 
I'm 100% certain now: (As far as I'm concered) you can't catch multiple shinies in the same Safari, at least not at the boosted odds. Not sure if having a shiny of a Pokemon in a Safari even if it's a new Safari disables the boost or not.
15 hours in a repeat Safari with no shiny, switched to a new one and got it in my standard 10-15 minute time frame. Could be luck but I'm not buying it.

That said: Finally caught my shiny Petilil!

Despite my bad luck with Ralts (It took 7 test catches before I caught a Timid Petilil) it actually came out Timid, as well as having three perfect IVs: HP, SP. Atk and SP. Def. Woo!
Shiny Petilil's eyes are blue, and shiny Lilligant's eyes are pink.
 
Has breeding with power items changed? I thought in BW that two could be used together. Seems like either one or the other is working. Maybe I'm just forgetting how it worked in the first place.

This pokemon has outstanding potential overall.
That's how I judge it anyway
Incidentally, I would say that its greatest potential lies in its HP.
But its Attack stat is good, too
Hmm. And its Defense stat is good, too
Its Sp.Def stat seems just as good, though
And, well, its Speed stat is good, too
Stats like those... They simply can't be beat.

Does this mean I have 31 IVs in the 5 categories he mentioned?

Sorry I'm still a noob to this EV/IV thing and am trying to get the hang of it
 
I guess I'm a sucker for Dragons. My favorite pokemon of this gen is Noivern, with Goodra and Tyrantrum close behind. My team literally consisted of 4 dragons (also Haxorus). My other two were weak to ice as well (Drifblim and Venasaur). Although not technically... thank you based Thick Fat.

Ouch, 11 Speed IV. Is there any point to getting Speed EVs if it's that low? Feels like I'm going to be going second and should focus a defense stat instead of wasting the EVs.
 
Hello all, so I'm starting to get into breeding annnnd was trying to breed my modest ditto with a togepi to get the ball rolling. Well twice now I've come up with "prefer to play with others..", with two different togepi and ditto. x_x Just bad luck? Or am I missing something?

Evolve your Togepi; baby Pokemon can't breed.

Baby Pokemon cannot breed you must evolve Togepi into Togetic/Togekiss to breed them.

So I suppose the next question is... If I want to do chain breeding, I'm going to have to level the babies up to their next evolution every single time?

I don't think you need to evolve it, but if you give it a destiny knot, it'll choose 5 IVs from both parents. So if you have an opposite gendered one with, say, 3-4 perfect IVs(with overlap), that would help.

That was pretty close, but when the other player used Flamethrower on Mega Venusaur it was pretty much over. Should have used a Flying-type move. And your Pokemon have really good Speed. Your Tyrantrum really showed Aegislash who's boss lol.
 
Is Scraggy a good pick for most lineups? I'm having trouble forming a diverse team, and with Combusken and Scraggy I have two fighting pokemon. I don't have many dual-types and I like both of 'em, should I be trying to diversify as much as possible? I wanted to have a Skiddo on my team but I already have Quilladin and I didn't think it was great to have two grass types.

Yes, use Scraggy. It evolves into the best Pokémon in the series. #nobias
